We stayed at this wonderful property for 10 days. We had a great time, the place is a dream with a beautiful sea full of fish! Umbrellas on the beach were always available, they have four deck chairs each and the bell to call the waiter to have the beach service of both drinks and food.
We used for free both the SUP and the canoes, to go for small excursions in the surroundings.
I really Recommendation the boat ride with Niko, a nice and kind person who accompanies you to see wonderful places accessible only by sea. Excursions depart from the Resort beach.
Our room ( 019) had a wonderful view of the sea and a beautiful terrace, it was very large and always very clean, the cleaners proved to be very kind and professional.
The days we did not go to visit new beaches, we had lunch at the hotel bar, the food quality is very good and the service great. The guys are very nice and helpful, especially thank Georgina, Giorgos and Nikos (hope I wrote right!!).
As for dinners, however, I must say that the quality of the food is not always 5star, but the service is always up to the task. Special thanks to Chrysa and Apostolos for their sympathy and professionalism!
One suggestion I would like to give is to be able to give the opportunity to have a packed lunch or to exchange lunches with dinners so as not to be forced to stay in the hotel every night...
I really Recommendation this property, with great value for money.
I will always remember its sea....

We did find this hotel in an online search so we didn’t know what to expect upon arrival. What a nice surprise!
The hotel is one of the best we ever visited. The construction is modern with good quality materials. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Fantastic private and well organized beach. Full beach service and activities. The grounds are cleaned daily and we could see them starting cleaning early in the morning.
Take the half or full board plan as the food is top quality. As a matter of fact we thought of going out for dinner every night but we changed this plan and stayed at the hotel. The chefs are incredible and the local ingredients used are so tasty.
Also, it was the first time in 5 star resort that we met the general manager, Vaggelis? we think, without having to look for him! This guy is from another planet. He was everywhere running everything and we didn’t even know he is the brains of the operation until the last day. One could tell of his involvement by meeting his staff. All the people working at this hotel were so nice, helpful and always with a smile. It seems that the manager knows how to hire good people first and then all the rest.
In conclusion, we recommend this hotel without any reservations and we plan to visit them again. Try to book directly with them. Lefkada is a beautiful island with dramatic views and scenery as the mountains feel touching the beach! The city at night can feel crowded but you can always find a nice cafe or icecream place. There is easy access from the mainland through a small bridge so you can drive straight in.
An unbelievable vacation for us just by chance because we wanted a hotel on the beach.
We are sure we can write more in this review but everything will be positive but you’ve got the idea…

Plenty of parking. Umbrellas always available at the beach and pool. Daily room cleaning on demand. Rooms with sea view a must. Good selection of local wines. Top italian and restaurants on site.

After many holidays in Greece we tried the Ionian group of Islands and had an 11 night stay on Lefkas at the Porto Galini Hotel, the room was smaller than we thought and a little cramped, lovely pool area, very relaxed, plenty of sun beds, good breakfast with an amazing choice of food.
Hotel was big, built on several levels and no good for anyone with mobility issues, the staff whizzed about in golf carts.
It was a bit like being on the set of The Prisoner which was filmed at Portmeirion, the architecture reminded me of that, a sort of fairy tale village.
The downside was that it was quite isolated from other towns and resorts, there was a bus stop nearby with no shade and no pavement and on a busy road, but the hotel was landscaped and the staff were very nice, friendly and accommodating, views were lovely, gorgeous sunsets.
Boat trips round several islands are worth doing and Lefkas has nice beaches but take foot protection as the sand is made of rough stones and is not soft!
Good, reasonably priced food in cafes and resturants in neighbouring resorts, the Hotel food purchased (for those not on half or full board) was a little bit pricy as were drinks presumably because there was little competition in the area from other large hotels.
If you are going for two weeks it's probably better to go half board, you'll have plenty of choice and the food is good.

Porto Galini is huge, has absolutely no sign of the famous Greek hospitality and kindness, has a lot of steps and a great view from the sea and a very nice private beach (stones not sand). But it is not a five-star hotel. Period. We were given a room with a small bed, a tiny bathroom, two rooms in two floors and at least 35 steps from the bedroom to the balcony. Not nice at all. A room chemically cleaned from anything cozy and so unfriendly that we did not want to be there. I went to the reception to complain over the room and ask for another. I was met with an indifference and rudeness that I have not experienced anywhere in the world before. The staff even talked back at me. That is not only rude but also shocking as you have paid 3000 euro for a week there. It really ruined the vacation and we did everything we could to be away from the hotel – which is not easy and requires a bus or a car as walking means jumping for your life on the main road passing the hotel, not to mention the rubbish thrown along the road in appalling quantities. So, if you are given room 73, I will recommend you to make a scene, denying to accept the room and wait in the reception until you a given another. After five days we got another room (waiting 1.5 hour from the time we should have changed room, which was postponing our tour in a rented car, that was absolutely great). But we only had it for two days.
On the positive side the housekeeping and the staff in the breakfast cafeteria is very professional, nice and friendly. On the beach you can call for service that will bring you drinks and snacks. Now, some people will appreciate this as a luxury. The mainly Italian or East European guests seemed to do so. I would any day change the beach staff for professional and welcoming people at the reception. But no worries, we will not be coming back.

ExactLy 9 years ago my son and I spent 2 weeks at the hotel in two separate rooms and we had an excellent time. I subsequently wrote a very good review giving the hotel 5 stars. Forward 9 years things were different. Before I arrived I emailed the hotel on the 27th August a week before my 10 day stay. I politely asked to have a Superior Sea View room that was quiet and away from any lifts. I was on my own and therefore I was paying for two guests. After I arrived I was taken to room 164 which was 8 feet from a lift and approximately 90 metres from the main road. I wasn’t happy, went back to reception and asked for another room. Receptionist said there are no other rooms available so why did they put me in room 164? I usually went to sleep just after 11.30pm. However, the people in room 165 practically every night would wake me up after 12.30am by dragging chairs across the tiled floor. I complained several times but reception did nothing. On Saturday the 9th September at around 4am the people in room 165 started to make a great deal of noise which went on for over an hour. Apparently, they we’re checking out! Over a period of 7 days I lost around 14 hours sleep. After breakfast on Saturday I went to reception and demanded to speak to the general manager who happened to be called Evan Demiane (not Greek). When I spoke to him on the phone he gave the impression he wasn’t bothered. I also told him that I was 71 years old and should be treated with more respect. I later emailed him and he didn’t reply so that also tells you something.
Overall, the breakfast was OK, however, there was just cold plates to put the hot food on and therefore by the time you start eating the food is lukewarm. There is an area near the outside bar where one can have a snack/lunch but everything was quite average. A couple of times I had lunch in the restaurant upstairs which was better. Since 9 years ago the beach has increased in size by adding tons of shingle. The life jackets are old - the ones that were there 9 years ago and also the canoes. Probably, the best thing I would say was the relaxing massage I had. However, the majority of the actual staff were very pleasant.
On several, occasions I drove to Nydri 4 kilometres south of the hotel where there are numerous restaurants, none of which were that great and mostly offering very similar menus and extremely busy with somewhat poor service. Compared to the 22 Greek Islands and mainland Greece I have been too, I wouldn’t recommend any of the restaurants. I had a car for the 10 days and toured round the whole island and visited many interesting places. I don’t think I will come back to Lefkada again as there other places I have been too that I would rather visit again including the Anassa Hotel in Cyprus where I will be staying next in a few weeks time.

Large accommodation with 2 large pools and restaurants within the facilities.Family rooms large, but of different speeds. On one wing renovated,in another point with a view of the sea, other with a view of the tiles of the front building. But all at the same exquisite price. The room is clean, though, but colorless, "tasteless", odorless.
In my emphasis on the absence of view from the room and in my polite request for possible change, if there was availability, a lady from the reception was almost hostile to me.
The Italian restaurant with interesting cuisine and views, but very expensive. There was a mistake in the bill - 2 bottles of mineral water were charged, while we had consumed one.In my comment for this mistake, the answer was:"Sure you drank only one?We usually bring 2!!'' (Mark...The bottle with water has a charge of 7 euro!! and NO we had not consumed 2 but one).
The sea in front of the hotel satisfying without exciting.
The evening artistic program is under moderation.
Overall, the staff indifferent with 2-3 exceptions from the children of the Italian restaurant.
A 5-star hotel makes you want to stay in it. Spend the moments there
without becoming unpleasant, the porto galini does not succeed. It does not have this magic that you expect to give you and that you paid high.

The good things: nice breakfast, big clean pools and lots of sunbeds. Bed was so good and the pillows. Pool bar served affordable big salads. Private beach is clean and okay for snorkeling. Staff is really nice. Keep in mind that in this side of the island you won't see sunset but sunrise. We walked to Nidri 55min, okay easy road by the mountain. Some dogs barking but they stay at the houses. You have to go the street besides "Jimmy's house". Dont walk the high way, its dangerous especially in the late evening.

But the things that bothered me a lot: bathroom is bad. There's not enough ventilation so it's moist all the time and the floor is wet from moist that comes down at the night. We have to keep doors open but when the air becomes cooler at the evening so the moisture will be there after a shower and it's so annoying!! Also a hairdryer from the 90's? It doesn't dry and overheats in the hand. We had also a big water leak from the fridge on first day but personal wasn't that interested of drying. A cleaner came after I asked twice but I had to dry the spot after her anyway. We paid for superior room but this doesn't just feel like it at all. Regretting that we didn't book just average room.. maybe we would got a better view even. And this room is "shared" one, a door separating it from someone elses. Also a small detail why I feel like this is seriously not a superior room just because we have a couch and slightly bigger room...

Not the best hotel, not worth the five stars, but it was enough for me to keep me happy and relaxed. I came for the private beach. 7/10

The Porto Galini Lefkada has an amazing setting with fantastic views across the sea to mainland Greece. The staff in the restaurants, bar, at the private beach and in the Spa are friendly, helpful and efficient. The pool areas, as with the rest of the public areas off the hotel are well kept and clean. Its location means that a car, taxi or local bus are needed to get to the nearest resorts of Nikiana and Nidri. By the number of babies and young children in the hotel it would appear that the hotel’s children’s facilities must be very good. This does mean that if you have children that this is a good choice of hotel however, if you don’t have children and want a quiet stay it is unlikely you will get peace and quiet for long!
We unfortunately were let down by the reception and reservation staff. Having paid for a superior garden room we were allocated a room on the same floor as reception that looked out on to the domed rooftop of the spa in one direction and directly on the main driveway in another. Not what anyone would consider a garden view! However what was so shocking was the response to asking if we could be moved to another superior garden room. From the beginning it was clear the answer was ‘no’ and that they had absolutely no intention of trying to move us even if it was part way through the week. Given the hotel purports to be 5 star, the attitude of the reception staff and the women in reservations was quite frankly shocking. Two days after asking we saw that approximately 25 people were leaving the hotel and so I asked again whether one of those couples room would be suitable for us. I was told that every one of them were people in sea view rooms. In fact their story was that everyone checking out was in another category of room and that they were full! A little hard to believe but hard to prove otherwise. On complaining that I left they were letting us, the rest of the hotel staff and Greek hospitality down I was told I was entitled to my opinion. Not very 5 star I venture to say.
However, overall the hotel is lovely (not 5 star) and so if you get the right room, have or love being surrounded by young children and babies, this may be the hotel for you. We won’t be going back or recommending it.

We stayed 10 days in this 5 star hotel. The location is beautiful with a beautiful view. The beach is just below the hotel and is well served. Each umbrella has four sun loungers and a call bell for the waiter. If you want to eat something on the beach is fine and prices are contained.
Unfortunately I can not give a higher grade because the room service was not the best, we were left without toilet paper, the shower is six feet tall and there are dangerous steps.
The restaurant is not a five star, one waitress in particular is very unsympathetic, you do not have time to finish that takes away your plate. Coffee is an almost undrinkable broth, even at the bar. 75cl carbonated water 6 euros. Che dire ci vorrebbe poco...

This was our 2nd year in a row staying at Porto Galini and we have loved it both times. We were a family of 4 with 2 young children in a superior sea view room (thoroughly recommend).

First mention must go to the staff, including Chrysa, George, Marc, Maria, Georgina, Eilin, Johana, Vasilis, Vasiliki and of course Nick. They were so welcoming and felt like old friends.
We loved having the private beach on our doorstep with free access to paddleboards and kayaks. The sea is crystal clear with lots of fish to see. There was always plenty of sun beds at the beach and around both pools which were of a good size. And it felt like a real holiday to be waited on at the click of a button.
The pool bar has a fantastic view, great drinks and food, and again very friendly staff which made a big difference.
We also enjoyed the live Greek music 2 nights a week at the buffet restaurant this year. The evening buffet can be a bit hit and miss but their signature restaurant Segreto looked like a great option, as well as plenty on offer in Nidri. And the breakfast is excellent.
The children loved their times in kids club (special thank you to Marc and Maria). And all the staff made the kids feel very special and made many happy memories for us as a family.

We love the peace at Porto Galini and are already looking forward to going back again in the future.

So I can't answer which rooms are best for a sea view I would recommend contacting the brilliant team at the hotel. However we didn't have a sea view from our room which was a superior room however within a few meters from our room we had ample views of the sea. We were hardly ever in our room as the site is really set up to sit around outside/access the outside space. We had a superior room which fitted a family of four but it really depends on how much space and how much time you like to spend in a room.

The Hotel has its own beach which is very good. Free kayaking and paddle boarding. There’s a slightly worrying amount of towels on sun loungers going on. (The hotel have posted signs against it, but it goes on). Airport 50 mins to an hour drive. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance, but the one we tried was nothing special. We had a car and visited Lefkas town and Nidri. The restaurant in the hotel is very good and never too busy.
