Amazing villa, in a great location, walking distance to the beach and a short 12 minute uber into Lagos. The villa had a great atmosphere, relaxing by the large pool during the day, enjoying cocktails at the pool bar. I met lots of great people and the staff were really friendly. The villa has a great outdoor area with a large pool, seating area and beautiful gardens, the size of the property meant I felt very safe for social distancing whilst still being able to socialize easily. The villa is also ideal if you need to work remote, with power sockets outside and good WiFi. I would definitely recommend this villa and will be visiting again soon.

I enjoyed staying in Altavista very much, it is a perfect place to chill and relax with an awesome garden full of plants, swimming pool, beach bar and wonderful view. What I enjoyed the most was the atmosphere with great people who I met there and we had some amazing fun times in the villa because it offers so many things to do like games, playing guitar and billiard pool. As I was also working from my laptop I appreciated the full wifi connection everywhere, so I could work from a hammock😊. The staff were really friendly and the free breakfast (lovely pancakes) was great. I would definitely recommend this place and I would come back.

I can honestly say this is one of the most impressive villas I have ever stayed at. It boasts an outdoor pool, an indoor smaller pool, your own bar, hammock, kitchen, large sitting/family room, pool table, volleyball court many bedrooms over it 3 floors, balconies and much more. There is so much here it's hard to list everything. The owner (Anna) and staff are just like your own family & provide assistance with bookings and cooked meals. They are amazing beautiful people. The food they cooked & served was fantastic, none of our party of 18 people were left hungry. Yoga and massage services on site can be arranged with Anna. Numbers and advice for local activities are on the notice board to help your stay more organised too. There is easy access to Praia Da Luz beach from the villa with a 20 minute stroll but is up hill a little on your way back.

Found this little gem of a lodge while looking for surf and yoga spots. As the name implies it’s located on top of a hill with magnificent vistas of the surrounding hills and sea. Great place to relax and good base from which to explore the western Algarve. Only 15 minutes away from bustling Lagos, which you can reach by local bus or Uber. Probably wise to rent a car though. The yoga at the seaside each morning was fantastic and the local beach was populated with locals.
Anna and John are constantly working on improving the place and the amazing staff work tirelessly to make you feel at home. Even though the place wasn’t packed to full capacity I met a lot of fun and interesting people during my two week stay. Booked three nights initially but found the lodge much more comfortable than any hostel.
Highly recommend the place to anyone looking for more comfortable accommodation than a hostel.

Stayed here for a week in one of the shared rooms & really enjoyed everything about it. The people are super friendly, the view is amazing & the pool / bar / chill area is really nice. Plus, you can join a lot of activities if you feel like it. I guess this depends on who else is staying there, but I had the best week with all of the other guests - there was a great vibe, lots of social interaction & fun. Convenient that you can use the kitchen if you need it, the (included) breakfast every day was lovely - overall just a great experience!

This is my third year coming back to Luz and it is a no brainier that me and friends always book Alta Vista.
Anna and the team are super friendly, the villa is always clean, great breakfast (a pancake machine this year too!) and there is always a good vibe here.
As it is a lodge with mainly surfers, mountain bikers (us!) and other activity seekers, everyone respects that sometimes you need an early night- so no wild late parties.
The BBQ is always worth a look on a Tuesday.
See you in 2021!

After a tough few months, The AltaVista lodge really helped me feel alive again. There is a lovely, friendly atmosphere throughout the property and the vibe offers a balance of calm with fun. The pool is great, the rooms are well equipped and the public areas (chill out spaces, nice bar, large gardens, common room) are everything you could want. I felt safe and had plenty of space to isolate if I needed to. (The Wifi is good if you need to work whilst you are there.) Luz is just a short walk away if you need any amenities and, though i didn't do any myself, the range of activities offered were excellent. All in all, i would recommend this to anyone looking to chill out and have fun, but prepared that you might wish you had stayed longer.

Chill villa with nice people, it offers all sorts of outdoors activities like surfing. It's located in Luz, a traditional seaside village in a gorgeous environment of beaches, cliffs and hills. Great place for a holiday stay in an amazing place.

My friend and I stayed 3 nights here and had a great time! We rented a private room with private bathroom- the room was clean and comfortable. The hostel has great facilities, we loved the pool! Everywhere is very light and spacious. Anna and Miriam were incredibly welcoming and made sure that everything was going well- the hostel had a really personal touch to it. Overall great environment, I would definitely go back!

My Alta Vista love started 2017 when I came the first time with a friend. From the very first moment we fell in love with the people, the atmosphere and the whole House. We had an unforgettable time, which is why I decided to come back this year. As ecpected Alta Vista did not disappoint again. I met people who were so lovely that I even be friended some of them. My stay felt like coming home. My thank goes to the hosts John& Anna who put so much effort and love into it.
I will definetely be back some day. Thanks for these memories.
