Travellers' Choice
The Belvedere boutique Hotel is the perfect place for a holiday, located amongst Cypress trees in the beautiful verdant area of Vassilikos; undoubtedly one of the prettiest places on Zakynthos. Vassilikos is a charming village still relatively untouched by tourism, with tavernas and bars set in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Built on the side of a small hill, it overlooks the green fields below and beyond the blue sea of Gerakas and Porto Roma bays; the two best beaches on the whole island - only a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is built with the utmost attention to detail. The main colors are white and blue mixed only with the green color of the surrounding trees, simplicity, style and high quality of materials used are found throughout this unique hotel. The hotel provides not only a relaxed and quiet atmosphere but also all modern facilities such as internet access, satellite TV, DVD player and air-conditioning.

This was our 12th visit to the Hotel and we have never been disappointed, even in Covid times, everything is very well organised. The views from the hotel are stunning, they now have a fabulous spa offering many different treatments. We always go B&B simply because there are some lovely little local tavernas which we like to explore. The Villa Rosa a'la carte is a super place to start the evening with a couple of consistently excellent mohitos. They also serve very good meals there. The staff are always so friendly and extremely helpful, Elke is always on hand in reception, always with a lovely welcoming smile. We will definitely be booking for next year (hopefully)

This was my second visit to this hotel, I previously visited with my friend. On that occasion we had a lovely room, breakfast wasn't all that, but the overall position of the hotel and views across the countryside are great. On the last day, my friend slipped in some water near the toilets, she fell back and hit her head. There was no help from reception, luckily there was a nurse on holiday there at the time. The shocking thing was that when I asked for the incident to be recorded, they didn't have an accident book!!! Roll on two years, I decided to give the place another go, this time with my Sister. On arrival, we were told that we'd been upgraded from a Junior Suite garden view, to a suite with seaveiw, very nice of them. On seeing the room, we noted very quickly that there was only one big bed, not even an extra bed in the form of sofa bed!! I told the receptionist (the ever helpful Elke), that we needed some extra bedding as my Sister decided to sleep on the hard foam seating area. We were given sheets etc that day. Unfortunately my Sister did not sleep well at all, so I asked if we could have a mattress as my Sister was happy to sleep on the floor. We asked Elke to sort this out for us, the room ladies came and told us that it wasnt possible to supply a mattress. I popped down to Elke again, she said that they didn't have spare mattresses!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. That afternoon I was seething, a mattress topper was also not possible. I emailed the general Manager for help with the matter. That evening Vicki contacted me, I popped down to reception to have a chat with her. I explained that all we were asking for was a mattress, at which she said "of course we have mattresses", and promptly located one and popped it into our room within a couple of minutes. There also seemed to be a big mystery over pool towels, these are supposed to be provided. The girl at the pool bar told some people that there weren't any at all, or some people were told that they were still in laundry. I eventually managed to get 2 towels by the 3rd or 4th day of our holiday. I felt sorry for those that hadn't brought any towels with them as they were probably forced to buy a towel from a souvenir shop. Big thing to point out to potential visitors, their idea of Concierge is not the same as ours. They will help you with info/directions /taxi etc, but they do not help anyone with suitcases. There are lifts, but there are still lots of steps to contend with, not a problem for me, but could be for elderly/pensioners. On the whole we had a lovely time, the hotel is in a brilliant position, close to a handful of tavernas, but this will be my last visit. I wasted so much time trying to sort out a mattress for my Sister, towels for the pool, I would not want to repeat the experience. The coffee at breakfast has improved though!!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel for one week in July. The room we booked was a junior suite with garden view, however, we had a great view of the sea from our balcony. The room itself was spacious and it seemed like it had been recently renovated. Bathroom was very clean and well equipped. We really enjoyed the pool, simple but pleasant. Our favorite beach was Gerakas, but we visited many others as well since they were within walking distance. We saw many people renting ATV's and mopeds, we might try them out next time. The dining area is rather small but they have a good variety of food. We had half-board reservation and most of the time we had dinner at the hotel. Those who'd prefer to go out at night, there are many good tavernas in the neighborhood. The hotel staff was really kind, especially the young girl from the reception, she was happy to help us anytime with all of our requests. Our single complaint would be related to the early breakfast which is very poor. We had to ask for it twice as we left for day trips around the island. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Zakynthos and this holiday is definitely very memorable for us.

The hotel is in a very good location, close to some lovely beaches and walking distance from several good restaurants. Our rooms - two junior suites - were very good, large and comfortable with big balconies and lovely views to the sea. Bathrooms were decent size and had baths as well as showers. It was useful to have kitchenettes but they are very basic and we would have welcomed having more than one pan, and also a kitchen knife. The dining room is not a very pleasant room to be in, feels very much like an institutional canteen. We only had breakfasts with our booking. Range of food was good, with lots to choose from but the hot food offered was almost cold and the coffee was a rather odd slightly sweet concoction. A number of the services at the hotel are rather limited and not set up to be particularly helpful for those on holiday. Swimming towels are only available from the pool bar between 11 and 6 - although the pool was open from 8 until 8. There is a lovely new spa at the hotel, but they have relocated their gym into this new facility. As a consequence, guests can only access the gym when the spa is open, between 10 and 6. So no chance of a work out before breakfast, or dinner, which is when many people normally exercise. I asked why the hours for these services were not expanded to suit more people and was told "that's the regulation here". The wine bar on site was nice. Wifi is almost non existent and very fragile. we failed to get a connection for a Zoom call. Overall, the hotel was good value for us, as we got a very good last minute deal so we were pretty pleased with our stay but it could definitely be better. Staff could be friendlier and warmer and the services could be more attuned to guests needs - felt very much like guests were a nuisance.

When we first arrived the lady at the front desk told us that we had an upgrade for a sea view room. The room was large and enchanting. Very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. They cleaned to room every 3 days because of the covid (not a problem as we kept the room very clean), and changet the garbadge and towels everyday. I asked the front desk lady if they could clean the floor on our second day because of the sand and it was quicly done. We had breakfast and dinner there almost every day and the food was great, always warm and freshly brought, no matter the hour you showed up. At dinner they serve something else every day, very large variety of foods. They had enough on the menu that suits vegetarians too. They have 3 or 4 kind of desserts, always on point. The breakfast was the same everyday as other people worte, but it was very good and they have many to choose from everyday. The AC was working perfectly and we did not have to pay extra for it. Very good value for the price. Certainly we would recommend this place and come back here.
