Wow. Where to begin? If heaven exists then this is it. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat.

The food is outstanding — breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, were all prepared with such care — no skimping there! The surf instructors were best in class — we were fortunate to have lessons with Luis, Hannah, and Igor, all three of whom were patient, constructive, and just plain fun. Thanks to their instruction, everyone managed to get up on the board by the end of our stay. Tonya and the staff were all wonderful and took extra effort to ensure the camp felt like home. We made great friends amongst the families, couples, and solo travelers here. The camp it self is spectacular — situated in the midst of a national forest it is both calm and beautiful, with several amenities including a pool, skatepark, hammocks, a billiard table, and ping pong. If you are hesitant to book don’t be — I can say with ease that our trip to Russos was the experience of a lifetime. We will surely be back!!

I spent a week in Russo’s Surfcamp and really enjoyed my time there. Excellent and enthusiastic surf instructors, good food, and great fellow people in the camp.

It is about a 10min drive to the beach and 5-10 to the nearest restaurant, but I personally didn’t had the need to go anywhere else, as all meals are included and you will be busy with surfing (and potentially some yoga) all day.

I can not say enough good things about Russo Surfcamp. Hannah, Tonya, Russo, Luis and Igor are amazing. The most welcoming atmosphere, amazing food, the perfect place to relax but also learn how to surf. I came in as a beginner, and was catching continuous waves by the 4th day. Visited as 3 young adult girls and felt comfortable the second we arrived. The most beautiful place and beach, everyone needs to come here!!. The group feels like family almost instantly, I never wanted to leave!! We will be back. Thank you so so much!!!!

We had a nice week here, my son and I. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The surf classes were good but a bit crowded. The place is "in the middle of nowwhere" so its quiet and relaxing. The garden is nice and spacious. The food was ok but nothing special. We were disapointed that the beach and restaurants was so far away. Recommend to hire a car if you dont have your own. The surf classes where not child friendly. Maybe because there were only two children and a bunch of adults. Still would have expected some more instructions for the small ones as it was paid for.

The owner and his family make this truly unique- they are genuinely passionate about surging and the kids, they make everything with joy and a big heart. Every parent can feel totally reassured their child is in safe hands.Surfing in different levels from beginner to advanced, Spanish lessons(fun),sightseeing, games......out of 30 kids this week, half are returning for a 2nd or 3rd time! Says it all.🇵🇹❤️👍

I am 34 years old, travelled alone with my fresh meat sufer “skills” and didn’t really know what to expect (wondering if booking the 8 bed doom room was the best idea). Looking back, it was one of the best trips and weeks of my life! This beautiful place in the middle of nowhere with its stunning view makes you feel relaxed within a second - full of open minded, lovely people from all around the world, who became friends (hosts, stuff, instructors & guests ❤️); fresh delicious food; professional surf instructors; great structured surf lessons; a beautiful surf spot; a lot of laughing; fun and party - I’ve never felt so deeply relaxed in such a short time - thank you for everything❣️
PS: 2 weeks after my return I’ve booked my next stay - see you end of October 🤙

What's making this camp so great? The friendly staff, the excellent coaches, the nice environment (chill and alone in the nature), the good food, the BBQ with party, the best beaches,...
The staff listens to your suggestions and tries to improve small things on the camp to make it even better.

Besides the awesome food, the very nice accommodation, the friendly staff and the awesome view from the house, I definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to learn surfing. The teaching is excellent and the teachers are real pros, taking into account safety, technique, material and physical abilities of their pupils.

In small groups of adults they review - by levels - the whole theory and practice of the sport, provide high quality material and give a lot of freedom. The schedule of the day always depends on weather and tides. The whole staff will make sure you learn surfing - of get better at it - in the best conditions.

I stayed there three times, every time for a full week. Always arrived there solo and left with a lot of new friends. Can't wait until my fourth stay there !

I stayed here a week as a solo traveller and loved the whole experience!

It's located in the middle of hills and the view is stunning. There is a pool overlooking the view, and even a skateboard ramp if you want to give that a go.

It's very relaxed, breakfast is between 9-10, with a selection of meats, cheeses, cereals, fresh bread, cooked breakfast, fresh orange juice etc. Lunch is packed for you, often sandwiches with fruit, a chocolate bar, water, juice. Dinner is at 20:00, 3 courses, usually soup to start and then either something like lasagne or a more traditional dish, followed by dessert. Vegetarian options are available. You will not go hungry on this holiday, that is for sure!

I went for a private room although you can take a shared room with other travellers; I therefore had my own bathroom and was able to lock my room as and when I wanted. I did pay a €20 refundable deposit for the keys but I don't think that is a problem. Single bed with everything you need, they can provide bath towels and beach towels if you ask.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating, Russo and Tonya were lovely and very helpful, even when my drop off was very late they still came to pick me up.

Mario is also great, and makes a delicious Mojito if you want to try the bar out. It works on a tab system so you pay some money upfront and they just take it off your tab as and when you want a drink, all very reasonably priced.

If you go for lessons, transfer to surfing is around 11am, then you stay out until around 17:00-17:30. Nice Rip Curl wetsuits and a variety of boards available. Their surfing teachers are great, they are patient and teach a technique that is good to use for beginners so you don't fall into any bad habits.

Overall would highly recommend this place if you want somewhere relaxed and friendly - I already want to book to come back!
