Where shall we begin, I am 42 my wife 49 and our 2 children 20 and 23, it's important to establish ages when choosing a holiday destination, not all people like the same.

The hotel is in the perfect position for Arillas, Kosta and his family are so welcoming and cannot do enough for you, the rooms are basic, but for a sunshine holiday for our family was perfect, all linen was changed daily and rooms cleaned, the could not be faltered, our location was rooms 214 and 215 we had seen reviews regarding the noise from the Malibu Bar which was unnerving but this did not bother us at all, the 1 thing you have to realise is the time adjustment, breakfast is served until11 due to the fact Arillas will not wake up until 10 so we worked our 2 weeks from 10 until 2am which worked for us.

Both the Malibu and Coconut bars were excellent so accommodating with resident DJ Tony playing all your favourite hits.

We dinned every night in 12 different restaurants in fair ness they are all similar until you have the Greek dishes they all have a twist of their home recipe which was wonderful, just 2 to look out for , Akti hotel, Klefnico it is a must the Lamb is amazing and the Porinfino grandma Lamb ohh fantastic.

To summarise if you are thinking of going to Arillas, take plenty of sun cream for the amazing beach, stay at the Akti for the quiet pool and superb lunch menu as well as evening cocktails, and lastly take it all in as this is one of my most treasured memories.

Now to the important thing, cash, there are currently no problems in Corfu, all machines work and card are accepted, food for 4 including starters and all drinks came to no more than 60 euro, we never spent more than 140 euro in any one day , which is great value , if you have any further questions please ask, all the accounts above are our opinion of a great holiday. and wine

My wife and I stayed at the Akti in mid July,

Overall the hotel is great and I cannot emphasis the family feel about the hotel. Stamatis, Kostas and especially Spiro make you fell like an extended part of family.

The pool is area is fantastic - great sunbeds with cushions, no loud music, chilled sounds that help you relax, and perfectly clean and tidy - a great place to capture the sun which shines on the sun terrace all day. The pool is very refreshing and ideal to cool off.

The room we were in was quite basic but did have everything we needed - comfortable beds - great pillows - good storage and a shower and loo. Cleaned daily and very regular changes of sheets and towels. We were told that this part of the hotel is to be upgraded next year but would have no real issues going back as it is.

The breakfast is quite basic but.... with cereal, toast, boiled eggs, meat, cheese, jams, yoghurt and honey and biscuits means you can have something different every day plus of course tea, coffee, and juice.

We had lunch at the hotel most days as is very reasonably priced. In fact we often didn't pay for our drinks and lunch until late in the evening and the odd occasion the next day - it was not a problem!!

We also had dinner a few times this was fine although we ate in around 6/7 restaurants and all were great - didn't have a bad meal anywhere and surprisingly cheaper than I thought at anything from 25 - 40 euros for a 3 course meal for 2 with a drink or two.

The bar area is a great place to have an early evening drink on the sun terrace or a night cap or two - Spiro will always look after you and he does mix great cocktails.

Most reviews about the Akti mention the bars opposite. The Coconut bar is not an issue in fact its a good bar and has some good live entertainment a few nights a week but the noise is controlled and done and dusted by 12.30 or 1.00 at the latest. The issue is the Mailbu bar which caters for children early on but does not turn the music down later on although it certainly was not the 3 or 4 o'clock as other have mentioned . However, for various reasons we had a couple of early nights and with some white noise - TV and Air con - it didn't really affect us.

So our advice is don't be too put off by this unless you want to go to bed on your holiday at 11.00 every night !!!
As a guide we intend going back and taking our 3 year old granddaughter so that might help put this in perspective - great hotel great service.

Loved our stay at Akti Arilla Hotel.
We were kindly given a quiet room in the main part of the hotel, as requested, does not hurt to ask. Our room was comfortable & kept immaculate. We had a very large balcony, and could watch the sunset over the mountains & sea, just perfect. The shower room was spacious & clean.
Breakfast was good, cereal, bread, biscuits, meat, cheese, boiled eggs, orange squash, tea & really good coffee. We did not have an evening meal at the hotel, but were advised very nice.
All the staff were so so helpful & friendly, could not have asked for more.
The pool was really nice, very comfortable loungers, and what I loved was the fact no one left towels on early morning to hold them. There were always free loungers.
The hotel was a very short walk to the beach, travernas, shops & bars. Very well situated.
Aircon was €5 per day, safety box (kept in reception) was free.
I have nothing bad to say about the Akti.....I shall return.

We were in the island for a wedding so multiple family members had booked a room in this hotel only to be left utterly disappointed. The rooms were outdated and there were stains in our sheets and pillows. The doors in every room were old and dirty . The bathroom was the worst as the shower curtain was disgusting. Breakfast was nothing special just very small and simple . Another guest had an issue with their sheets as they found cat hairs and paw prints on their bed and when they called a receptionist to change their sheets he rudely refused causing the guests to leave the hotel without staying. Even though the cost is low there are much better options so I wouldn’t recommend this being my worst hotel experience by far.

I do not recommend. For a week the towels and sheets were not changed, the room was not cleaned, only the rubbish was taken out. Food terrible, small portions, for dinner as a starter, eg leftover sausage, pasta breakfast, no fruit, no even simple Greek dishes.

Great location close to the beach, good lively bar and immaculately kept swimming pool.

Rooms always clean and always made welcome by the family.

Not as noisy as other reviews suggest. No problem for us - already booked again for June 2016.

My partner and I stayed at the Akti Arilla Hotel from 26th Sept for 2 weeks. We had a great time. The hotel was built in the seventies by the family that currently run it, they are very welcoming and will help you with anything you need.
We had a room in the main hotel at the front (opposite the music bars, which were loud but didn't stop us sleeping!), the room was spacious with a lovely balcony, the bathroom had a shower over the bath (having a bath in Greece is a luxury!). All in all we were really pleased pleased with our room. Helena (the owners daughter) cleaned our room daily, she never disturbed us to do this but would wait for us to go out for the day, which I was impressed with as I hate being woken up by the cleaner!!
Spiros (the owners son) runs the bar, pool and restaurant area and takes pride in all that he does. His Vodka and Tonics are the best I have EVER tasted!
My partner was unwell at the end of our holiday and Spiros asked his Mama to make him some Rice Soup, which is what the family have when they feel unwell, it was lovely. Spiros also made a fantastic fresh mint & honey tea to soothe the aches and pains, the mint was picked fresh from the garden.
You will not beat this hotel anywhere in Arillas, the only negative is the noisy bars opposite but like I said after a few drinks with Sprios you will not even notice it!

I visited arillas this past summer with my mam and we stayed at the akti. My mam had been to arillas before but it was my first time. The hotel was delightful and always more than accommodating. The staff are so friendly and we're always on hand for help if needed. We ended up having a few drinks at the hotel bar most nights and it was such a nice atmosphere at one point I was behind the playing 'dj' ☺️ The room was kept clean everyday and it was exactly what anyone would want/need. There is a bar across the road and I have seen other reviews complaining about the noise but I have to be honest it never bothered me at all, it never prevented me or my 65 year old mother from sleeping. If anything the music was quite fun sometimes. I spent most of the time at the hotel pool and eating at the hotel bar and everything was just perfect. I want to go back again soon and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere other than the akti. It's so close to the beach, pub and restaurants with a relaxing and beautiful pool and bar what more could you want from a holiday?

my wife and I stayed at the akti in the last week of September 2014 to the first week of oct 2014, and although we are frequent visitors to arillas this was our first stay at the akti. some of the reviews for this hotel, I feel, were hardly fair. the welcome we received was excellent and our first 2 nights were in the old part of the hotel which was in itself very good, room was cleaned each day. we were then moved to the new part and it was even better, bigger room and a nice balcony. again the room was cleaned daily even when we were late getting up. the staff without exception was very good always smiling and happy to oblige when asked. the music from the Malibu and coconut bars across the street was hardly a problem in the old part of the hotel and no problem in the new part. I have no hesitation in recommending the akti to anyone and would stay there again.
