Altura Hotel is lauded by many guests for its prime location close to bars, restaurants, and the beach, though some guests mention a challenging steep hill. The hotel's amenities generally receive positive remarks, with clean pools and diverse food options, complemented by a staff that earns praise for their friendliness and diligence. However, opinions on room cleanliness and maintenance vary, with some guests finding fault. While the atmosphere is noted to lack entertainment variety, the hotel is still seen as offering good value for a 3-star establishment, even with some unexpected costs reported.

Where do I start, The Altura has only just reopened. We arrived late Monday evening 2nd May 2022 and was greeted by George at reception. George was fantastic he took our bags to our room and throughout our 7 night stay he was always polite and helpful as was the night reception gentleman. The lovely Lisa who made up our room every day was always happy very polite also surprised us with the way our towels were laid out. The dining room staff Eri & Stefania were excellent always there to answer questions about the food and give a warm welcome.
The food was always good and a good selection, the desserts were.... Well see the pictures. Decor in the Hotel was very smart as was our room. Outside plenty of room to relax.
There is a nice walk when you come out of tge Hotel and walk up the hill.
The Hotel isn't far from the beach and the walk is fairly easy and attractive with all the different Bars and shops.
We enjoyed our stay at the Altura and will definitely visit again before the end of the season.
Once again a Big thank you to all the staff your all fantastic.

Ok so here’s my honest opinion. I stayed here as the deal was a pretty good price for this time of year. Now I’m not really an all inclusive person but the location and price (have stayed in tsilivi numerous times) made me opt for this hotel as most other places were fully booked.
The two biggest disappointments for us were that if you wanted to stay on the hotel complex then you would have to get up at around 6am to reserve a sun bed, even though signs were all around stating that towels would be removed before 9am. This is a result of most people wanting to make the most of the all inclusive drinks and food throughout the day.
Second was the lack of hot water for a shower.
The food we only, ate once seemed ok for all inclusive lots of choice but you had to beg and borrow to get any cutlery…. No organisation at all.
The barman in the day Konstantine? What a guy and would go out his way to make what he could do with just local spirits.
The Housekeeping lady was also amazing and we would come back to petals on our bed with towels made up in a romantic way!!
Overall the hotel was clean Two main pools - one an upper deck and it’s located in a good place walking distance to the beach and bars.
The Hotel just needs a decent manager to run it to take it to the next level - most certainly to get on top of the sun bed situation.

We have just returned from our stay at the Altura hotel, we were a group of 10 friends staying for 7 nights, and all in all had a great week. Firstly, the staff at the hotel were brilliant & very friendly. David and Marios provided entertainment every evening (normally bingo & quizzes), and there was a good selection of drinks and cocktails. David and Marios also organised a day of quad biking which was good fun & a great way to explore different parts of the island. The restaurant staff were also brilliant, a special mention goes to Eri who was really friendly and great at keeping tables tidy & clear of plates. The pools were a great place to relax and there were normally always sun beds available when we wanted them. Rooms were basic but cleaned daily with fresh towels provided & the air conditioning and mini fridge were a bonus. The hotel is a short walk from many great bars and restaurants and about a 10 minute walk from the beach. The hill up to the hotel is very short and was not an issue at all for us.

Unfortunately we did experience a few negatives, however, we appreciate this is a 3 star hotel and you get what you pay for. There was a good variety of food, however it was always lukewarm and not particularly appetising. On two occasions plastic was found within the food & we ended up eating at restaurants outside of the hotel most evenings. The snack bar was disappointing with only one hot option available each day.

Although the rooms had the basic amenities that we needed, the electric would often trip, the beds were very hard & one of the 5 rooms that we had smelt very unpleasant (a damp, mouldy smell). We aren't the type of people to complain, however after 2 days of using the room we asked the tui rep if it would be possible to move to a different room. The tui rep came to our room and unfortunately was unhelpful, tried to tell us the room smelt fine & said the hotel was fully booked so there was no option to move rooms. Eventually she said she would speak to the hotel to see if there was anything they could do. Later in the afternoon someone came to clean the drain in the bathroom, which slightly subsided the smell, however it still wasn't pleasant. The bathroom was unfinished with concrete walls and the shower would flood the bathroom however, this was a minor issue.

All in all, for a budget holiday, this hotel was adequate for what we needed and provided a base for us to stay to explore the island. With a bit of work to the hotel itself, this would be a great place to stay as the location and staff were brilliant.

What is advertised as a 3 star is more like a 2 ! We got there about mid-day and was greeted at reception, all seemed well and good. We were allocated to our room and oh my…..

There was dirt on the bedding on the headboard, cracks in the walls dints in the walls. It seemed like they had just chucked the room together very quickly. We wouldn’t of minded waiting for it to be done properly. We asked to move and the lady behind reception just rolled her eyes and said “urgh we will get somebody to clean it” Did they? NO! We had to clean the stains ourselves with an antibacterial wipe. We asked to move again and the gentleman moved us, it was a better room more clean. However during our stay he would make snarky remarks saying “is your room better”

The bathroom just looked like it had been concreted with cracks in the wall where you could actually see outside. The room was cleaned everyday but the bedding wasn’t changed. Most of the time the shower was freezing.

The food was a poor standard for all inclusive, breakfast was a bit rubbish and dinner was hit and miss sometimes you’d get a lovely meal or a rubbish one. We did eat out most nights.

There’s two pools one upstairs which is quiet one downstairs which is a little noisy as It’s near the bar that plays music. The guy with the black hair( working in the daytime) was a little rude because we ordered a large amount of drinks as we met friends there. Asking why we ordered 6 drinks??? The pools were not very clean you could feel sand at the bottom and suntan lotion floating at the top. Place is crawling with ants.

There is a sign that says you cannot reserve sun beds until 9:00am or reception would remove them, but there was towels on beds as early as 7:00am.

Tsvilli is a nice area little rundown, there’s a small strip with bars restaurant etc.

If you have traveled a lot like myself and been to a wide range of hotels you will be disappointed. Close to one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, don’t know why it has so many good reviews.
Extremely disappointed would not stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel from the 11-18th of October as a group of friends. The hotel on arrival seemed ok, the rooms very basic but livable. The shower was broke but was fixed when mentioned to our Tui rep. The food at the hotel is pretty poor. I understand it is a budget hotel but even so the price we paid you would expect better. It is transferred from the sister hotel and heated up so its only lukewarm. Several members of the people staying ended up ill. We ended up eating out most evenings. The pool and surrounding areas was only ever cleaned once in our entire stay. The pool was unusable at one point and looked like shrek's swamp. When asking the reception team if it had been cleaned they said no, I then asked when it will next be cleaned she said two days leaving a facility that we had paid to use unusable. The attitude from the reception staff all around is terrible they frankly could not care less of you had an issue. The times stated for food where never adhered too when this was mentioned the staff just shrugged. The bartender in the evening was a major creep so if you are travelling as a woman just be careful even if you are travelling with your partner. The only member of staff there that was good was the lady serving on the bar throughout the day. As a group we made the best of a bad situation and still managed to have a good holiday even with how fed up we all were of the hotel. Why this is still advertised as an option to stay at I will never know. My only advice is that you don't stay here take it or leave it. I gave this a 2 star purely for the bartender in the daytime cause she was really nice and helpful.

There are mixed reviews on here of the Altura ad I have no idea why.
Our flight was delayed by an hour but when we arrived we were told that they had saved some dinner for us as the restaurant was now closed. It was lovely, and they didn't have to do that.
The room we had was on the 2nd floor and we wanted a top floor room. It was no trouble and they moved us. The room was lovely and clean, well equiped and a great air con, which considering the whole week was on average 35 degrees you needed it.
Beds comfy, kettle and tea bags and coffee provided so we bought some milk from the spa shop and that lasted us all week. There is a little fridge which was ideal.
How anyone can say the food was not good is beyond me. There were loads of choices, meat, fish, salad, pasta, chips, etc. Our favourite were the meatballs. Everything was really tasty. There was a snack bar open from 11-6 for Gyros one day burgers and hot dogs the next if you didn't want to go full on restaurant for lunch. Drinks were great and again plenty to choose from.
The staff were all lovely and so polite and helpful.
Location is ideal. literally 10 mins walk to the beach and 2 minutes to the shops and bars on the strip.
The pool areas were always clean and we had no problem finding a sunbed but people do put their towels out early despite being asked not to, but we used to go down at about 9 and had no problem getting a sunbed. The pool downstairs has music and the pool upstairs is classed as the quiet pool but both were lovely and a lovely relief from the heat.
We are looking forward to returning next year but probably later in the year when not so hot.
This is not a hotel if you like wild party nights and the entertainment is more for the quiet relaxed holiday maker. But there are plenty of bars on the strip to go to if you want a livelier evening.

The location of this hotel is fantastic it is close to the beaches and shops and restaurants all of which are really well priced.
Now for the hotel the staff are amazing and very very friendly the food is okay not a great choice for children so beware if you have fussy eaters, you need to get to the showers early in the morning in your room or early evening as they suffer really bad with running out of hot water and if your air-conditioner unit does not work in your room politely ask the young lady or young man at the desk and they will flick the trip switch we were in room 542 right at the top which had amazing views of the sea. There are two swimming pools one for everybody and one for adults but everybody uses them anyway nice atmosphere I would recommend the hotel we went as a couple for a week all-inclusive and it was okay we did hire a car but beware there were loads of quad bikes with youngsters riding around

We have just returned from a 2 weeks holiday here at the Altura, our 2nd visit, 1st one in 2019.
This hotel is 3☆ with 5☆ staff, always happy and will make sure you're looked after from reception to housekeeping The rooms are spacious and kept spotless by the ever busy housekeeping. The food is varied and plentiful, constantly replenished by the lovely restaurant staff, tables with sanitizer on
cleared and cleaned quickly, everywhere kept clean and tidy. Pools/ Pool bar is good, and again great bar staff, a couple of minor issues though but nothing the hotel can't sort out.

( 1 ) we arrived after 11pm due to a 3 1/2 hours flight delay, the bar/restaurant was closed, very disappointed that no allowance was made for late arrivals, we expected a bit of food/water waiting for us in the room but there was nothing! I did go to reception and the young man on duty got me some milk so we could have a tea/coffee, fortunately we had some water with us.
(2) we didn't bring beach towels so 'borrowed' pool towels from reception had to pay €10 for 2 weeks, not a returnable deposit so be aware there's no refund.

All in all a lovely hotel close to the lovely town, steady stroll to the beach. Definitely recommended.

Now first like to say please don’t be put off by all the bad reviews . I panicked before going as did read some reviews and thought it was going to be awful when in fact we as a group had an amazing time .
We were a group of 4 adults and 5 children and before going I emailed the hotel to ask for my two rooms together as had 3 children with us arrived and we had exactly that .
The staff are all faultless they work so hard from morning until night the cleaners came every day except Sunday and reception staff were always friendly and helpful organising a minibus for us for boat trip. In the dining room the staff were all so hardworking and friendly I have to say a shout out to Maria she had a smile every single time and a welcoming hello every meal time .
The entertainment staff were all lively and so funny David made us laugh every day with his aqua aerobics routines and Eva (sorry wrong spelling probably ) was lovely always smiling and a pleasure to see . All entertainment staff were lovely sorry can’t name all and kids loved them.
I can’t miss out our barman at the pool he was lovely worked all day and knew our drinks off by heart always smiling and English very good .
My kids loved everything about our two weeks we always got a sunbed the pool was clean and surrounding pool area cleaned every day so my kids lived in it . A little hill to the restaurants but very easy to do.
I want to thank the altura for an amazing time and beautiful all inclusive food !

All in all our stay was pleasant.
Great location for shops, beach and car hire.
Rooms have everything you need with the exception of coffee. Only teas on tray.
The food is absolutely fantastic and so tasty with a huge variety every day. Stunning food and best part of the hotel for sure. Amazing Chef ! Bar is great too although the amount of plastic used is phenomenal and with Zakynthos being so small the sheer amount of plastic rubbish is a climate crisis!

The only 2 negatives with this hotel is the hot water and sun lounger. If you want a warm shower after a day at the beach you have no chance. We had 14 days and only had 3 hot showers in total. Spoke to reception time and time and time and time again. We were told that it’s the whole block in 500s and it happens regularly / plumbers fixed it (although made no difference) . Also told we were trying to shower at busy times but the water was cold at 7am 11.30am 4pm and 11pm so not sure on that theory.
Sun loungers are never available and the pool side is heaving with people so we just hired a car and went elsewhere from day 2.

I would definitely stay here again if the hotel could provide hot water . But for sure the best bits of the stay this time were: food and hospitality.
