An excellent stay; we were well looked after by our host who went out of his way to meet our needs whether it was a breakfast choice from local produce or simply a pot of tea. It was all very welcome as was the recommendation of places to eat. We also loved the quirky, arty, industrial retro vibe of our room which was very comfortable. We will be booking again!

Thank you for this review. As I have said so many times before we are blessed with really good local produce. I am more than happy to recommend places to eat but in these times it is still important to book in advance. Having said that the confirmation email always contains the telephone numbers of these local establishments. Once again thank you for the review.

We visited Parsons House B&B and spent 5 nights there, David is an amazing host and deserves high praise, we read the reviews which are overwhelmingly positive and were still amazed at the attentiveness and dedication to making sure people have a great stay. The rooms are lovely and David cleans them daily, we stayed on the second floor room with the fantastic rainfall shower. The rooms are lovely and in keeping with the house as a whole, full of character. The breakfasts are delicious and are made using local produce, setting you up perfectly for the day. It’s an ideal location, Hartington is a beautiful village with lovely local shops and produce, the ‘Charles Cotton’ pub/restaurant is where we ate one night, highly recommend, and the ‘Staffordshire Knot’ also highly recommended for delicious homemade food. If you enjoy walking there are walks surrounding the village, also you are in an ideal location for ‘Bakewell’ a beautiful place to visit and Alton Towers is only 25 minutes away. The ‘Tissington Trail’ walk and ‘Hartington Dale Walk’ we’re lovely walks around the village, and I’m sure there are many more. Overall couldn’t recommend Parsons House highly enough, if you want a perfect stay, then book here….

Hi, Thank you so much for this fantastic review. Obviously we are fortunate with the local produce and it appears we are doing them justice. We moved to Hartington 20 years ago and it is a really beautiful village and the residents so warm and friendly. Thank you so much for staying and hopefully you will return sometime.

We stayed here for the weekend whilst on a walking break. The B&B is very charming and quaint with quirky interior (the Victorian shower is a novelty!) David was very welcoming (and Maud the cat) greeting us with a tray of tea/coffee and shortbread. There is free parking and it is within the village of Hartington, where there are a couple of pubs, convenience shops and access to some lovely walks. Our room was beautifully decorated still in the old charm of the house. It was very clean. There is no TV in the room but this was a refreshing change. Phone signal within the village is intermittent; most networks are hit and miss with signal, apart from 02 which apparently works. Breakfast was delicious; made with fresh local produce. Recommend the breakfast trifle, very tasty. David was happy to serve breakfast at any time we requested and tea/coffee trays were plentiful. We will return!

Thank you so much for the kind review. It is important to us and therefore we know we are doing something right. I don't think Maudie has ever had such continuous and popular reviews; she must have got very bored during lockdown !

I'm writing this review following our second stay with David at Parons House. We enjoyed our stay so much last time, that we booked well in advance and didn't for a moment consider staying anywhere different. We've stayed in both rooms now, and both are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. David is always friendly, approachable, and happy to help with any advice on how to make the most from your stay in Hartington, including knowing the best local pubs and produce etc. I'm a big tea drinker and was greeted with a tray of tea morning and night, more times than I care to mention. I recommend you take time to enjoy the cooked breakfast David makes from local produce, which includes the creamiest scrambled eggs and thickest bacon you'll have had in a long time.

From booking direct with the owner David to vacating this morning, we could not fault 1 single thing. We had the grey room, 2 large single beds zipped together. Slept like a log. Fab ensuite. Ultra clean. Breakfast was to die for, he gives you various options & you choose. Do try the breakfast trifle. Tea/coffee tray available all day-just ask him. Park off road-in front of his house. No mobile signal in village. WiFi avail in the dining room only, as bedroom walls soo thick. No tv in room (covid rules). Bring books & pack of cards 😀. Gorgeous village- like James Herriot land. Walkers paradise.
