We had been to these Studios 5 years ago and were impressed enough to return. Despite the negative comments from some, George greeted us with a welcoming smile and insisted on carrying my wife's case to our room. The studios are lovely and, if you are lucky enough to get am upper floor one, you can even see glimpses of the sea George tells us there is an ongoing programme of refurbishment in the hotel and was extremely proud of the new bathroom that was done there. Yes, it was fairly small - but how much more than a shower cubicle, sink and toilet do you want? The other thing about bathrooms is that Greece often only has a wet room, but this is way and above that as a standard Serving the rooms was done regularly, politely and unobtrusively. The place is clean and tidy, the rooms airy and bright. We would be happy to give this a top mark recommendation. Air con is 7€, yes, per night, but that's not out of the way for a self catering hotel. The area is beautiful - and we'd go back tomorrow! You can tell we are not alone in this because we met people there who return year after year! Thank you George and company!

Stayed here with my partner in Aug 24, this is my second time in the village and first time staying at the Katelios Studios. It is a very quiet location, very basic accommodation and the room we stayed in was the top level so luckily no scraping furniture across tiles at 6am like you get in some hotels abroad! The bathroom was tiny and in need of a good refurb, but my main gripe was that you had to pay 7 EUR a day in cash to the hotel for air con, so adds up to nearly 50 EUR for a week which I had not factored in to my cash spends. Granted- It does say it in the small print when booking but it is deceptive as it makes it look cheaper than other accommodation nearby when you compare prices on the Jet2 website. Had we have done more comparing we could have had breakfast, TV and aircon at another local hotel all as standard for a slightly higher amount, so really do your research! All in all it was an OK stay.

We have just returned home after a 7 night stay at the katelios studios. We had one of the rooms that had recently had a new toilet, sink and shower fitted and it was lovely. The bins were emptied daily and the bedding and towels were changed once in the middle of our stay. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There were ample sun beds around the pool we arrived at 2pm and we had a choice of sunbeds to use. No matter what time of day it was you could always get a sun bed. The pool itself is a little tired, some algae around the edges and on the steps but it's very peaceful and relaxing with good WiFi. George was a fabulous host and a wonderful guy, he made us so welcome. Very convenient having a mini market next door. The walk down to the beach and resturants took 12 minutes but it took 25 minutes on the way back after lots of wine and food. We knew Katelios was a quiet resort and that it was close to skala. What we didn't realise at the time was that there isn't a taxi station is Katelios itself, we didn't feel confident hiring a car so we did feel a bit isolated in katelios. We got a return taxi to skala one evening it was busier than Katelios with more shops and restaurants but still very similar. We had a lovely holiday but katelios isn't a resort we'd go back to, we are in our 40's with a teenage daughter and found it both beautiful and borderline boring. If you do like katelious I'd recommend the katelios studios as a place to stay.

We stayed here for a week beginning of August with our 3 year old and were very disappointed. The room was ok, very basic and seemed unfinished with pipes sticking out from the floor in areas, a very small dated bathroom attached with a shower that trickled. It had a small patio area with seating which would end up drenched from people hanging up their clothes to dry above you looking onto “flower beds” which housed more weeds than anything pretty to brighten the place up. The room was cleaned once in a week and sheets changed once, and when I say cleaned I think the floor was just swilled over with water it didn’t smell clean and fresh when walking in. The pool was disgusting, not cleaned once during our visit. Don’t be fooled that as they have a baby pool it will be appropriate for children, it’s really not! Not even choices for kids on their very limited food menu or even drinks in the fridge which are appropriate for children. The food was expensive for what it was and always seemed a hassle for the staff when ordering. It’s a family run business, they seem more interested in their phones and entertaining their family visiting than serving paying customers. Numerous times they left their granddaughter unattended in the baby pool and felt we had to watch her while my daughter was playing with her. I got the impression the same people visit year on year so the owners have become complacent, it’s need a make over and a tidy up! I wouldn’t even say cheap and cheerful, stayed in better places for less.

Lovely location. Half a mile walk to the beach if you have good mobility. Our room was clean and spacious. Our bathroom had been renovated but wasn’t quite finished. The grounds and pool area could be tidied/cleaned up very easily with a little effort . We found George’s attitude to be poor when he came to deal with a problem we had reported. Not how you expect to be treated as guests. We wouldn’t return even though we liked the area due to his behaviour towards us and other guests during our stay. It’s fine for a cheap(ish) holiday unfortunately the owner doesn’t appear to want to put in the effort with the property or guests.

We've just spent 10 days here. Amazing warm welcome from George and his family. Apartments were large and very clean, lots of wardrobe space. Sheets and towels changed twice, bins emptied, and loo paper replenished every day. Bedside lights have USB ports on , bonus. Shop right next door. Plenty of sunbeds, so no need to bag one with your towel at 8 in the morning! Lovely pool, bit chilly, but worth it when you take the plunge. Plenty of great places to eat, Persa's, Jerry Alenenkos, Cozys, Delicious to name but a few. Hiring a car is a great idea as there isn't a bus service. A great place to relax and recharge.

Only 4 out of 5 based on it being our 3rd visit the 1st being 2017, always about to do the bathrooms up but yet 2023 still very outdated, the paint was all peeling off the wall in our bathroom but a plus the shower head was attached to the wall this year. The price we paid 12 months ago for 10 nights was a lot more than the 2 weeks we paid for 2 years ago, so I feel improvement is needed in the bathroom for the extra cost. George, I agree is on his phone a lot, but always been happy to serve and help us, no complaints.. mum is always very friendly. Dad sits each evening with a wave, and hello. Bedrooms are lovely, bins emptied each day, fresh towels, and every other day bedding no complaints there either. Town small but lovely places to eat if you want a quiet, relaxing stay, not for anyone wanting a lively evening . I agree that the route back is not good if you are elderly or have mobility issues. Met some lovely couples at the accommodation thanks to Dave and Mo new found friends. If you don't have huge expectations for the bathrooms, a good place to stay, but disappointing that they are still not better. Good luck family have good memories, but it will be our last visit

Good for mature couples. Pros: Good location Good for couples without children Mini market next door Two tavernas within walking distance Great cafe for pastries and coffee short walk away Pool bar Good for snacks Great friendly staff Clean and well kept Great pool
Needs updating as some bathrooms are need of some TLC Walk down to beach is not far but the walk back is hard going if you have Mobility or breathing issues
A great break here to chill and relax and that is what we did. Great bunch staying at same time. Not for children as not a lot to do for youngsters. Great variety of tavernas down by beach. What makes this a great place to stay is the staff who will look after you

We had a lovely two weeks in Kefalonia,. The Katelios Studios are in a peaceful location and a short, pleasant walk to the village and beach. However this accommodation has a very outdated bathroom, the sink took forever to drain, the toilet flusher was broken, silicone had mould in places and the whole bathroom needed replacing. Bar prices, particularly for water, were very expensive. Kitchen facilities were ok and beds were firm but comfortable.

Second time staying here. George, the owner, will do anything to accommodate his guests from staying up late to make sure all his guests are back safely, to arranging taxis and just genuinely being the perfect host. His mum is also around to make sure rooms are clean and when it is time to leave, a big genuine hug to wish us safe travels. There are 16 apartments and a lovely pool with plenty of sunbeds. A small bar and seating area, always open. George sells snacks at lunchtime such as chips or club sandwiches. The accommodation is located just a short walk down to the sea front, but if you have mobility issues then taxis can be arranged. Nothing is too much trouble and we spoke to many guests who have been returning to the studios for over 20 years.
