I booked this villa for the purpose of being close to my ancestral village and was not sure what to expect. We were met by a very kind gentleman named Harry. He gave us a thorough tour of our accommodation and gave us tips for the area. The villa was lovely! 2 bedrooms, both with strong air conditioning, a large bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a private veranda. It was immaculate and simply lovely. The backyard was full of fruit trees and well maintained. Also an infinity pool with views of the mountains. Just a short walk you find the sea, mini markets and a bakery - and the sleepy fishing village of Katelios with many tavernas. It was the perfect, peaceful place to enjoy our relatives - and close enough to all of the other sites you want to visit while in kefalonia. Highly recommend!!!

We are absolutely loving our 2 weeks here at Captains Villas.
Harry who look after the place for his family is great.
Lovely pool that’s hardly used.
AC included in the price. Which isn’t always the case in Greece.

Beds are hard but again that’s often the case we find in Greece.
6 pairs of sun beds for 5 villas and nice tables and chairs on the balconies.

Powerful shower. Great housekeeping.
Kitchens are just really for preparing snacks. Outside BBQ available.

Great bakery just down the road and a shop that seems to sell everything only 25m away.

10 minute walk into town.
For what you pay here it’s great value.

It would be great if there where a couple of sets of tables and chairs around the pool. Maybe next year!

Just got back from 2 weeks at The Captains Villas in katelios. These are superb apartments, very high quality for Greece. There are 2 spacious bedrooms, both air- conditioned, a large balcony, and a smaller one as well. The apartments are very clean, and have a daily cleaning service with fresh linen each day. The pool is also very clean and the grounds are maintained beautifully. When we arrived we were the first guests of the season, and had the place to ourselves for 2 weeks, paradise! The location is opposite the Mythos apartments, almost on the main road, but the main road is very quiet, more like a lane in the UK! There is a mini-market within 2 mins walk, a bakery within 5 mins walk, and 2 excellent restaurants Persas and Jerry's Eleniko also within 5 mins walk from the apartments. The seafront and seafront restaurants are within 10-15 min walk. Katelios itself is beautiful, we loved the place, quiet, clean and had about 10 restaurants to choose from. If you want a lively place don't come here! However there are a few cocktail bars, and live music at some of the restaurants. close by ther eis the beautiful Kaminia beach, where the turtles nest, this is a fantastic, quiet sandy beach, very shallow and has an amazing cantina which produces superb food in the very basic kitchen! Overall couldn't fault the place or the apartments. The owner checked we were ok 2 or 3 times a week and nothing was too much trouble.

Stayed here as our usual stay at the Efrosini was already fully booked. Nice location as supermarket is very close and only a short walk to the beachfront. Pool is lovely and very quiet. Apartments are tired and need some work… showers falling off, ants EVERYWHERE, toilet flush broke whilst we were there. Would not return as we’ve stayed in better for less money.

My family and i stayed here in August and loved it .
Probably a bit quiet for some(not even a regular bus service)but it makes up for it with quality, great service from our host a real luxury feel to the accomodation.
Very clean with daily cleaning service and very hard working staff.
No snack bar or loud music(you can go across the road for that)
if you want quality and quiet this is a great place.
you can hire bikes or cars to get about as we did,but this place is more about local restaurants and a quiet beach.
We found it perfect for staying a way from the hustle and bustle,so we could go to the next town for busy night out and come home for a chill.
would 100%recommend and will definitely be coming back.

These villas are beautiful. Despite being beside a road they are peaceful with stunning mountain backdrops. Its about 800M to the beach in Katelios and there is a mini market next door to the villas, a great bakery 300M down the road and a taverna across the way. The pool is a good size and cleaned every evening. On the subject of cleaning, I am amazed at an earlier review criticising the cleaning. Our room has been cleaned every day and is immaculate. We don't have a single complaint and will definitely come back here again.

We spend two lovely weeks in one of the five villas.
Our villa had 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, and by the looks of it I am assuming all the other are the same.
Having booked the villa in high season and quite late, we were happy with the value for money.
Cleaning services are performed daily.
Pool is lovely.
We had some issues with the WiFi connection. Signal strength was pretty poor, and for a few days (Fri-Mon) it was a total blackout (a real vacation some might say).

Location had both pluses and minuses:
(+) quiet, mini-market across the street, tavernas in walking distance serving delicious food
(-) the position on the island, at least for our needs: we traveled quite a lot by car across the whole island; in retrospective, a better "hub" would have been something more central - for e.g. near Argostoli - that would shorten daily trips to Lixouri / Paliki peninsula, Assos etc. More, most of the beaches in the area (say Skala, Poros) were not for our taste: we prefer secluded, less populated beaches, more scenic - like Antisamos (near Sami), Petani, Platia Ammos (Paliki peninsula).
Nearby beaches I recommend: Koroni (biggest waves here), Trapezaki (sandy beach, lots of kids).

We provided our estimated arrival time , and were met by a lady who showed us to our villa , and we asked do we pay her and she told us "No" and that the owner will come at 7pm. The Villa was immaculately clean , very bright and airy . Each bedroom had a window plus french doors which open onto a balcony , the double bedroom being a double balcony that extended to the living area so this provided a lovely big outdoor space. There was a full size fridge/freezer, full oven and toastie maker. Kitchen utensils were great and even a bowl of fruit and bottle of water on arrival. The sheets and towels were changed every day , which is brilliant . Every evening Dennis and Harry arrived about 6pm and hung about till around 8pm , and this is who we paid the money to. These two gentlemen were truly lovely , very helpful and even organised our taxi back to the airport for us. Many times we had the pool area to ourselves , and being only 5 villas to the complex ... it was never crowded. Maintenanace guys came every morning and checked on the pool , and a groundsman type guy came every evening. These Villas are very very well cared for and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. We had visited Katelios before , and returned , so needless to say we love the beautiful un-spoiled traditional charm of the village and the resort , and the many many amazing restaurants. Love the accommodation and love the resort

Ideal location, next to the main road but quiet at night. Looks towards the sea, lovely pool and grounds very well maintained. Supermarket and Tavernas nearby.

Got off to a poor start, had to ask for some more crockery, and new sandwich maker ( they don't have a toaster). Very tiny cooking area, consists of a sink unit (you have to use the drainer to prepare everything) upright fridge freezer, 4 hob cooker. Minimal cooking utensils, two worn out/dirty frying pans and 1 pan. A cooks delight!!!

Bedrooms adequate, fresh linen and towels provided daily, with a very helpful housekeeper. BUT the mattresses are like Bricks, so hard you just couldn't get a decent sleep. Tried 2 duvets on top which eased it a bit , but very hot, couldn't use the air con as very noisy. This really spoilt our 2 weeks holiday.

Shower very good, and lovely balcony overlooking grounds and pool. Went to pay the Capt. who tried to charge an extra 20 Euros! Asked where the safe was, as they had confirmed by email there was one. NO safe, and he was unconcerned, mentioned about the Beds, but there was nothing he could do, very disappointed.

The Brother in Law was concerned and said next year they were updating them, but No use to us.

First week we had ideal guests around us, very quiet and peaceful. Second week a family with 2 children completely shattered that, taking over the pool and been extremely noisy aided by dad. 3 German ladies arrived next door, again very noisy when they arrived in ever night between 1/30 and 2/30 am, when they were at the pool you thought a circus had arrived.

With decent Beds and reviewing the cooking facilities , this could really be 9/10.

But Sadly our Holiday was ruined.

The villas are modern, clean and air conditioned accommodation for 4-5 persons. They are cleaned everyday and issues (if there are any) are dealt with promptly. Our party had an issue with a fridge breaking down which was fixed immediately and a broken drain cover in our apartment was replaced without asking the same day!
The villas have a lovely pool and sun beds and restaurants / bars within very easy walking distance. Katelios itself is delightful and only 30 mins walking 5 mins tops driving. It is an unspoilt sea front oasis with all the facilities needed for evenings out and days by the beach. One word of caution there were some wasp problems when eating, but the restaurant staff will bring out burning Greek coffee which was 100% effective.
The sea is clear and safe for children under supervision as it is very shallow, with a sandy beach.
All in all a relaxing area to unwind and enjoy good food and local beer!!
