We had room 6 which was front facing with an enormous bed. We were left a welcome pack which included coffee, tea, milk, rose wine, water and a lovely box of biscuits. Housekeeping came 7 days out of the 9 and I can honestly say that we've never had so many fresh towels left for us.
The bathroom is extremely dated, but the charm and location definitely makes up for it.
Thank you for your hospitality 🙏

Was expecting and was billed for 1 bed apartment so was initially disappointed but the location was amazing.
Small studio with most requirements, down side no toaster, air con machine spewed black blobs every now & then & shower flooded bathroom when used! Good points are location, room clean, new towels half way through the week, welcome pack of tea etc and a lovely bottle of white wine. Dina kindly ordered taxi to collect us from airport, much cheaper than booking.com.
You will not be disappointed with the service.
I look forward to seeing you again
The apartment we had (Room 11) was beautiful, clean, well equipped, maintained daily. and with a great view onto the beach and surrounding area.
All rooms comes with a balcony, table and chairs and ashtray included if needed!
As for the location well.......Walk out the door of the apartments, Turn Left, cross the road and your on the beach! its that close.
everything else you need shops, restaurants are 5 minutes walk away in any direction.........perfectly located.
since the kids came with us, we opted for the air-conditioning for the week, which cost us 70 Euro (that's for the apartment not studio, im sure the studio was 49 Euro for the week) which I didn't mind at all paying. as for the so called Holiday tax that was only 3 Euro 50 Cent for the week
so all in all a cracking holiday,
I would Honestly recommend the Medusa apartments to anyone with or without family.
As this was our first time in Greece I didn't bother with a hired car but i did notice that there is space at the side of the apartments (on the road) for parking.
bottom line is if your looking to be in the middle of shops and restaurants and literally 30 feet from the beach then i recommend Medusa apartments, although its in the centre of the attractions you're still getting the peace and quite your looking for.
the Wife and I are already talking about going back next year for a longer stay.....that was my only complaint it was to short :(
Bearing in mind that I had read the horror stories about room 10 we were more than happy to be given any other room. However when we arrived at the hotel the door to room 6 was locked and on finding the owner Elios to check the situation we were told there had been a mistake and we were actually in the dreaded room 10!!!
To say I was dubious would be an understatement but when we went into room 10 to have a look it was Absolutely Fine. The room is on the small side but I have stayed in a lot worse places. This is a Greek Studio as you would expect it to be. It is clean, tidy and cleaned daily by Dena with towels changed regularly. There is a clean and serviceable shower room with hot water at all times of the day, plenty of power points in the main room, tidy fridge, kettle, cooker hob, sandwich toaster, hairdryer, microwave, plenty of storage and a reasonably comfortable, if somewhat creaky, double bed. Could do with a little more cutlery/crockery but there was enough for two people. Reasonable sized balcony with nice views of both the beach and the mountains and 2 nice wood/fabric chairs with a solid table. The balcony is in the shade until about 4 pm when the sun comes around the building and it disappears behind the mountain at about 7 pm.
There is an ATM machine alongside the reception (one of only two in the village)
Use of the safe charged at 10 euros per week, with the Aircon available for 8 euros per night, which we thought was a bit pricey, so slept the first few nights with the patio doors open and the wooden slatted doors closed, but that was a little loud until 1-30 or so with vans and people leaving the area (nothing boisterous just general movement of people) so from that point we closed both doors and managed without the aircon although it did get quite warm.
With regards to the resort itself Katelios is a small resort consisting of quite a few restaurants along the beach. We ate in all of them apart from the Aurora (so we couldn't comment on tha)t but every other restaurant we used was excellent. Our personal favourites were 'Blue Sea' and 'Delicious' but like I say you couldn't go far wrong with any of them (including the 2 on the main road down to the resort - 'Jerry Elenikos' and 'Persas). Also some nice bars to have a quiet drink - our favourites were Nemesis (a couple of doors away) and for the ultimate chill out bar on the beach Waves/Dreams (head past the 'Kiosk' and just along the beach away from the main track)
There is no pool at Medusa but the beach is literally 5 yards away and there is free use of the Medusa's own sun loungers on the beach. A few reviews have mentioned using the Notos pool but we were told that wasn't an option. We did however use the pool at Alkioni on the road down to the resort a few times (very nice clean big pool with snack bar and plenty of loungers available) A sign says it is 3 euros for use of the pool, but we were never asked to pay. We did, however, use the snack bar to be fair. One thing I felt did let the resort down was the availability of public transport - the buses are overcrowded and infrequent (but very cheap - about 3 euros to the capital Argostoli) Taxis need to be called from neighbouring Skala and cost 15 euros to Skala itself. There is also an infrequent water taxi costing 10 euros each to Skala, but we were never sure when it was running.
Would we stay in Medusa and Room 10 again - absolutely without a doubt. Truthfully though we try and go somewhere different each year so we probably won't. Having said that a lot of people we spoke to return every year so that speaks for itself.
I remain convinced that the airport rep gave us the wrong room number at the airport deliberately so that he wouldn't get a backlash about room 10, but there really was no reason at all to worry.
All in all a lovely stay in a very chilled out resort, highly recommended.
On arrival we were helped up to our room by a young lad, presumably the owners son and we surveyed our room - probably the smallest we have ever stayed in.
Firstly, the air conditioning was extra, as was the safe. We decided to decline the offer. No toaster, that was part of the grill/oven, together with a one ring appliance. A kettle which took an eternity to boil, cutlery which was out of the ark, and probably as old as the building itself. No egg cups, no wine glasses, the bare minimum of kitchen crockery and the bare minimun of kitchenware. This place was a joke and we were expected to stay here for a fortnight. The wardrobe door would only open partially as a chest of drawers stopped it from being opened fully, and you could not get into one of the beds if the balcony door was opened. A midget would have struggled here. In the toilet, the shower curtain was turning yellow and the toilet pan had not been cleaned properly for a considerable time.
The only saving grace was the balcony which overlooked the side street, but the peace was regularly shattered by barking dogs, screeching cats, cockerels crowing and the loud locals either congregating outside the taverna underneath,or the DIY expect across the road using his drill and hammer whilst working on his property.
When you wanted to escape to the beach to get away from all of this, there were the grand total of 8 sunbeds to go round 16 apartments - and you dont need a GCE in maths to work that one out! The only day we were able to get one, was when it was change over day of guests leaving or arriving.
How on earth this place got awards in previous years is unbelieveable. The towels in the room were changed about 3 times a week, but the dirty toilet was never cleaned properly. The bin appeared to be emptied when the beds weren't made. On one occasion, one of the twin beds was made and the other was left!
After staying at the Medusa, I cant understand why people return year after year.It can only be the close proximity to the beach - because its certainly nothing else.
The hotel itself was relatively small but everwhere in it was ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS, a real credit to the owners especially Dina who seemed to be in perpetual motion!. Everything worked, endless hot water with bedding and towels changed every other day. The hotel's own restaurant was excellent with very friendly staff (as was the case for the hotel itself) - nothing was too much trouble.
This group of "ladies" have invaded the Greek Islands for a fair number of years and have voted this the best yet and plan to hopefully return next year if suitable dates are available.
To those who want a relativey quiet but really enjoyable "Greek experience" away you could not find a better place.
