Pippi's Bed & Breakfast provides luxurious, comfortable and homely Bed & Breakfast accommodation in St Heliers in Auckland's eastern suburbs, New Zealand. Our B&B is a charming 1930s English style home with a tranquil, colourful, sunny back garden set in a pretty tree lined street. Pippi's Bed & Breakfast is but a short stroll from the sandy harbour beach, shops and many cafes and restaurants of St Heliers village. We can accommodate 5-6 people: a couple in the downstairs queen room, and 3 (or 2 adults and 2 children) in the upstairs suite. These two areas are separate but can be reserved by one group at a reduced rate. The spacious and comfortable main bedroom has easy access on the ground level, queen size bed with electric blanket and feather duvet, Sky TV, and has an Italian tiled ensuite bathroom. It is self-contained with tea and coffee making facilities and fresh fruit. There is a phone in the room for your use and you are welcome to use our email and laundry facilities. Winter evenings are warmed by gas heating, and a cosy fire in the lounge. The upstairs area (which is one area and let to one person or group) has two bedrooms - one with double bed, the other has lovely sea views, a single bed, desk, TV, phone and tea and coffee making facilities. Both have feather duvets and electric blankets. Between the two bedrooms is a spacious private bathroom with a bath and shower. Dressing gowns are provided in the bedrooms. St Heliers is the last of the bays east of and close to Auckland City. A bus trip from downtown Auckland takes you round the waterfront drive through Okahu Bay, Orakei, Mission Bay and Kohimarama to St Heliers where there are cafes and restaurants and good local shopping, with the sparkling waters of the harbour always in sight. The waterfront promenade is lively and picturesque. The Waitemata Harbour (Waitemata being Maori for 'sparkling waters') is probably one of the most beautiful boating harbours in the world with its numerous islands dotted about the sheltered gulf. There are many and varied water activities available, including a 10 minute ferry trip to Devonport - a quaint suburb on the North Shore - trips to Rangitoto, Waiheke and other islands, fishing trips, the famous Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World and Antarctic Experience, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, charter boat rental, and many more. Pippi and Philip have enjoyed meeting visitors from around the world since we opened our luxurious comfortable and homely Bed and Breakfast in 1999. You arrive as guests and leave as friends! We have been in our English style character home since 1990. We love meeting people visiting our beautiful country and for them to enjoy the experience of life in New Zealand from our home and small tranquil cottage garden which exudes the scent of roses. Although we are only five minutes walk to St Heliers beach, village and cafes, the location is quiet and peaceful. We love animals and have a dog, Oscar, and two cats, Bobby and Peggy.
