We stayed at Lakestone Lodge for 3 nights. It was so foggy upon arrival that we couldn't see a thing! That soon cleared up the next day and stayed that way for the rest of our trip. The views of the lake from our room...More

Hi Val, So August will still be winter cold. The roads don't get covered by snow but there might be snow around and you shouldn't have any problems to drive around. You're close to Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo, so you'll have... More
