Seafield Hotel & Spa Resort offers a range of experiences, with guests commending the attentive staff and the clean, spacious rooms. However, critics mention that the hotel's service can be inconsistent, particularly in spa bookings. While the location is appreciated for its secluded beach and village proximity, the value is questioned due to overpriced services and additional charges. Though the spa facilities are a highlight, soundproofing issues and a sometimes raucous atmosphere can detract from the sense of tranquility sought by visitors.

First time at Seafield was welcomed by Ciara who checked us in and made sure we where aware of all the hotel has to offer. We had booked into the thermal suite and it was fabulous 2 hours went in a flash. The room we stayed in had a balcony to make the most of the view. The room was spotless and had a very generous bathroom with separate shower and bath. The beds where super comfy and we had a fab nights sleep. We dined in the village bar service was excellent and the food very good. Our server on that night was Scott who was very attentive and always made sure our glasses where full. There was just one thing that was disappointing was the cheese board. I like a bit of blue which was absent the cheddar with I don't know if it was blueberries in it was tasteless and rubbery. But will def be back. Fabulous staff and hotel and spa. Thank you.

The location of the hotel was lovely with a short walk down onto a small secluded beach and a stones throw from a village nearby.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a less that happy host. We had mentioned we had never been here before and there was no indication where the lifts etc were. We had been handed our keys and told to book dinner ASAP as slots fill up fast.

No mention of the pool facilities or that a booking system was required. We eventually found our room and decided to check out the Spa/ Leisure Centre which we found out that it was an extra charge despite the room costing us €750+ for 2 nights. It was also only available in 2 hour slots. A bit ridiculous.

As for the room itself it was fine and the bed was comfy enough. However there were 2 weddings on and both nights despite the room being far away from the function room , our bedroom constantly felt the "thump thump thump of the music both nights which made getting some sleep nigh on impossible.

Breakfast was fine now and to be honest the servers in the bar and the restaurant were very helpful and efficient.

All in all 5/10 I would recommend somewhere else for a trip to the South East.

There was Hair in the shower and on the floors, we were moved to a complimentary room with a balcony without any hassle.
In the new room the Shampoo & toilet roll holder were loose. The baths are absolute death traps to get in and out of, it's quite high up and chunky enough to get your leg over. The baths are slippy even with the bath mats that I end up bruising the inside of my legs as I slipped getting into it. The Bathroom doors are peeling from the bottom and the floors in the bathroom are not cleaned properly, the complimentary hand soap and shower gel keeps getting stuck and you've to lift it up and down everytime to pump it. The Rooms have a radiator which we couldnt figure out and the room was freezing, we kept waking during the night. We paid for breakfast when we arrived and when we arrived we were
Charged for cappuccino after paying for breakfast, most hotels you get all breakfast free including drinks but all "special drinks" like cappuccino or lattes etc you are charged separately for. The
Staff are ran off their feet getting tea, toast & juice where as most hotels have this as a self service, this hotel does not. the breakfast was finished by the time we got the toast and had to ask several times for juice and we were put in a queue for it to receive half a glass of juice.
The staff are lovely and helpful we had absolutely no fault with the staff what so ever.
The hotel is not worth the money for how expensive it is, I have stead at much cheaper and have not had any of these issues.
The spa is packed with too many people and not worth the hype. We spent 40 minutes and left and didn't go to the 2nd day we had book as it was packed in any room you went into or the jacuzzi, it was packed with people.
The Tv kept freezing in the room and is not a smart tv, we end up using our laptop to watch tv.
There are No ice buckets so we were charged €4 for an ice bag.. it is nice and you get to keep it but not it is not practical to fit much in it. We did enjoy our stay for what we made of it ourselfs. This is the 1st review iv and I feel it was needed because of how expensive it is and for what you get.

We booked a large family, over 20, for a 2 night stay. Rooms looked modular and very basic, have had similar in a premier inn, and were way over priced at €680 2 night stay double room bed and breakfast. We felt treated like an inconvenience when as a family we spent 10k plus for our stay. We we shown a lovely room for pricatw dining when booking- we didnt get that room - we got one that was far too large cold and impersonal and no bar service. Hotel was very inflexible with dining times and a limited with menu- essentially it was a reduced choice bar menuu at €60 per head. No drinks included. Serving staff were nice but managers hovered around all the time with scowling faces - felt sorry for the staff. Service was poor with some people finished their course before others weren't yet served. Spa had many areas closed off for private treatments and looked grubby - steam room and sauna felt cold.
Guests staying in houses had to pay €20 each per vist to go into the spa area- staff were dogged and insisted on 16 and 17 year old family members show proof of age- must be over 16 - not an easy task when 16 unless you bring your passport -staff rejected serval other proof of age items presented by parents as not being valid. Interestingly no checks were made in the bar for proof of age. There are no facilities for kids under 16 as the only pool is the spa pool Will never go back and never recommend this hotel.

Three of us stayed here for one night. The deal was for bed, breakfast and evening meal and we ate in the Green Room.
Firstly, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are fine, we wouldn’t be in the room for very long so served their purpose. There were two small issues with one of our room, one with the toilet which was fixed quickly, the second with the safe which could not be fixed.
We arrived late afternoon and went straight to the beach for a swim. The walk is nice, not spectacular but just a way to get to the beach. The beach is lovely and we enjoyed our swim, so definitely recommend.
And so to dinner, the menu looked very exciting and definitely a chef with ambition. Sadly however it did disappoint, just didn’t deliver. One of us had the quail to start, the quail was very good but the additions to the plate were just odd so the dish doesn’t really work. Two of us had the pickled fennel and cucumber but again, sounds great but odd flavours when put together.
The lamb main was ok, the pastry soggy, disappointing. The sea bass was also disappointing and overcooked. The cauliflower kofta dish was again an odd mix of flavours and textures, glad I’m not a vegetarian.
So far, a menu that looks really interesting but just doesn’t deliver. The deserts were very good, two had the chocolate desert and I had the banana delice, really very good. If I would give any advice I think the chef should simplify the menu, simpler food really well done is unbeatable.
The wine list is very good and offers a broad range of price points. We had a fabulous Albarino and a Valolicella at the lower price range so applaud the restaurant in this. This certainly made up for the starter and mains disappointments.
While at dinner a manager approached us to apologise that the safe issue couldn’t be resolved and offered us a complimentary drink, he said our waitress would look after this. We are all big fans of dessert wine but the minute we mentioned this to our waitress she immediately told us they were completely sold out of desert wines. We certainly got the feeling the complimentary drink could only be the cheapest possible!
We retired to the bar for a night cap and again the staff were very friendly.
In the morning we returned to the beach for a pre breakfast swim. Breakfast was fine, usual standard mass produced stuff.
So all in all, we had a ball. Yes it had its highs and lows, for one night it was fine, not sure I’d stay more than the one night.

So disappointed with Seafield, we stayed there this weekend and when we arrived there was no WiFi and absolutely no phone coverage anywhere inside the hotel, that's all well and good if you don't have small kids at home and need to be contactable. Was told there was an IT issue....Went to our room on the third floor and it was like there was a tin can blowing around on the ceiling, we did report this and a maintenance guy did come to the room and listened to the noise, left and we never heard another thing. This was fine until it woke us three times throughout the night, I did tell the receptionist the following morning and she didn't seemed bothered, never apologised , nothing, at €310 for just bed and breakfast I think this is just shocking. We had a spa treatment the morning we left and the treatment room was absolutely baltic, asked the therapist to turn up the heated blanket but made no difference, also mentioned this to the receptionist in the spa when she asked how the treatment was as we left, again it was water off a ducks back, she said OK. That was another €75 each....the breakfast was absolutely horrid, raw sausages and cold toast. Not my thing, maybe my expectations were too high but for the prices they charge I honestly think they could do better. I won't be recommending the place nor will we be going back. On a positive note the bar food is really nice, expensive but worth it 👌 Seafield your gone downhill and should be ashamed charging €310 per night and clearly cannot keep up with the demand or pace. Disgusted 😔

We stayed in 2 x
self catering houses for a Family occasion. The positives was our Meal in the Village restaurant was lovely and staff also very friendly, attentive and helpful. The river walkway to the beach and playground was really well kept and a lovely experience.

As for the houses themselves, out of 4 showers not one of the operated properly, nearly scalding everyone and not been able to lower the temperatures. Shower heads in the baths just extremely flimsy and fell on my 7 year olds head several time we just avoided taking showers. As the children are not allowed in the Hotel pool and use the leisure facilities the management should really consider shower facilities in self catering houses to be upgraded. As we paying way overpriced charge for the houses, we were horrified that guests then had to pay an extra €15 to use the pool and leisure facilities. Thats just pure greed.
Such a beautiful location and so much potential, but I could not recommend a family stay here.

We stayed for one night recently and luckily had a voucher which helped us pay for the stay. We arrived early and went for lunch at the bar and for 2 'sandwiches' (a slice of bread with toppings) and 2 drinks adding up to 50 euro! Then we both had treatments in the spa, it was beautiful to be in and the massages we're lovely with very attentive and very qualified beauty therapist, however the thermal suite was poor in my opinion, it felt more like a public pool with over 10 other people using the area at the same time as us. In my experience in other luxury spas you would expect this to be much more private especially considering you had to book your time slot! There was a man cleaning throughout this and any puddles he would brush back into the pool even if there were people in it or close by! Shocking really.
Very very underwhelmed by the room, it seems from other reviews here that 2 single beds with one sheet keeping them together is the norm! As a couple paying 280 euro for a room, surely thats unacceptable? The pillows and duvet need an upgrade too, they were bumpy and uncomfortable. The room was very basic with little decor. Bathroom was disgusting and we'll overdue an upgrade, with a tap not working and the other leaking and shower covered in lime scale. We paid for a balcony room to discover your neighbours could pop their heads around to see what your at, there was zero privacy with a waist high planter in between each room.
We enjoyed our dinner but the supplements were a bit of joke we didn't expect to walk out with another bill after buying a package to include dinner.
Breakfast was another disappointment, buffet had the bare minimum and didn't include half the items on the menu, no fruit left and food luke warm, you also had to order toast which came out as if it was heated up with a hairdryer, we sent it back to actually be toasted!
Overall it was a grand hotel and spa but with the money we spent we expected luxury and it wasn't delivered. I regret staying and not using our full voucher on treatments in the spa and heading home instead.

Went to the Seafield for a wedding.

The atmosphere was lovely ! I had to swap belts with the groom morning of the wedding and the belt I had was too big, I went to reception to see if I could borrow some scissors to make new holes.

Reception got a chap called Michael to come to the front desk and take my belt, ask me where I wanted the holes and said he would meet me in the breakfast bar when he was done.

To my amazement he had taken a leather hole punch and made 3 holes in the belt for me and then came into the breakfast bar to return the belt.
This was fantastic service and even tho it was a small act. It was above and beyond!

Will definitely stay there again !

Great staff
Great food

This was my second time going to Seafield. Both times the bedrooms were way too hot (once in March 2023 and second time September 2024), my Mam and I had a really restless sleep. There’s storage heaters in the rooms that emit heat and no way to turn it off. Reception sent someone up to look but they didn’t have a clue how to work it/disconnect it. They have a fan you can plug in but it just blows hot air around the room.
There’s no window you can open so you have to open the sliding door to get some air but the balconies aren’t private so you can hear noise from other rooms and it’s a bit nerve wracking to leave a sliding door open when anyone can just walk behind a plant pot and come into your room; doesn’t feel safe.
The spa is lovely and the restaurant ( Green Room) but the Village bar food is a rip off and not nice.

I won’t be going again purely because it’s the worst nights sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel and defeats the purpose going to get treatments and relax to have a terrible sleep. the heat ruins the good parts about this place and for the price and seeing the reviews about the same problem with rooms being complained about since 2014 they clearly don’t care about customers getting a good nights sleep.
