My wife and two sons and I stayed at the Oblu Nature Helengeli for four nights in late November and early December 2024. From the moment we arrived at the airport to the moment we left, we were made to feel very welcome by the hotel staff. We are very happy to have stayed at this hotel. In addition to its unique nature and location, especially for snorkeling and other water activities, throughout our stay at this hotel, the staff always greeted us with a friendly welcome. Here I would like to thank a few people in particular. I hope that the desk management will take note of the work of these people in keeping the guests happy and satisfied, as I saw in their eyes. Anurag's taste and attention to detail in tidying and cleaning our room was unparalleled. Without a doubt, the pleasure of a good meal in the restaurant, thanks to the efforts of Simpa and Dee, was unforgettable. We spent a long time in the cafe and bar and enjoyed the unparalleled service of Kessi. The efforts of the management and other staff in creating a safe and comfortable environment have certainly led us to recommend your hotel to our friends. we hope to be your guest again in the years to come.

What an absolutely outstanding place! First thing I will say is make sure you download the Oblu app before you leave for holiday so that you can complete the check in process at leisure - this includes uploading photos of passports, providing flight details etc etc. We travelled as a family - 2 parents and 2 university age children and had decided to go to the Maldives for snorkelling & diving. We were met at the airport by a representative and taken to an air conditioned area to wait for the boat. We didn’t have to wait too long before boarding the boat with about 8 other people. The speed boat ride took about 50 minutes and, if needed, there was water and wi-fi. Once at the island we were greeted by the welcome team (with a little welcome dance) and then taken to our room. We had a 2 bedroom family beach villa on the lagoon side with quite a decent size private pool. The villa was beautifully appointed, very clean with 2 good size bathrooms (shower part is outside) and flip flops, cotton gowns, life jackets, large umbrellas all provided (snorkelling gear can be picked up for the water sports centre and is complementary) The main bedroom has a seating area & fridge which is constantly replenished with water and complementary beers/soft drinks. Outside the villa at the back there is a covered seating area, an area to wash sand off feet, beach towels and sun loungers on the beach (just past the pool). The view from the villa was simply stunning! The main buffet restaurant was very spacious with outside areas and plenty of fans inside. Food was incredible! Lots and lots of choice and beautiful flavours. Our family love fish & seafood so we were delighted to see a big choice of fish at lunch & dinner and were often spoilt for choice! As we stayed for 9 nights the Island package provided 2 a la carte meals at Raga Route (Indian) and Just Grill (seafood) which were both exquisite. Helen’s bar was a lovely spot to have a pre-dinner drink watching the sunset.. ALL Staff were friendly, polite and looked like they loved their work. A quick shout out to Rajendra from house keeping who kept our villa beautifully clean & well stocked with fresh towels and new water. We really appreciated the clever towel decorations on our bed - each day was different. We had selected Helengeli for the house reef and were not disappointed. The snorkelling was outstanding on both sides with thousands of colourful fish and lots of bigger marine life like turtles, eagle rays and reef sharks (white & black tipped). We spent hours snorkelling each day and always saw something new - we are strong swimmers so could manage the current but for those less comfortable it is possible just to drift with the current and wear one of the provided life jackets. We were delighted to see the coral’s condition was not too bad although the colours are not as vivid as the Red Sea. We also went diving a few times and enjoyed the whole experience. We are experienced divers (Rescue level) and were very impressed with all the staff and the boat crew. The equipment was already on the boat (and put together) and the dive site briefings were clear and fun. They have 30+ sites to go to around Helengeli and I think the longest boat ride we had was 25 minutes. We dived with Robbie and each dive was just short of 60 mins so we felt we got our money’s worth as diving is differently not cheap!!! We had about one hour on the surface between dives but second dive was always shallower so monitoring for no-deco although good practice was not really necessary. The dive boat leaves about 8 am and back before 12 so lots of the day left for snorkelling!!!! Helengeli is a very small island and very quiet which was perfect for what we were looking for. WE LOVED Helengeli and will definitely go back!!!

Just returned from a great relaxing stay at this very good hotel. Sea life in abundance with easy access to viewing points around reef. Our room was cleaned to perfection each day by Haneef who always had a smile on his face and lovely to chat to every day. Food was generally very good but got a bit repetitive over time. Raga route is worth a visit where we were very well looked after by chef Rajat and Rizki .Just grill is also good for a change from buffet although I think both restaurants could benefit from a few more choices on their menu. Kessi , Wita , Haikal and Anjali looked after us in the bar and made sure our glasses were never empty ! The spa is also very good and Ida does amazing massages! Few little things is the reason for 4 and not 5 star review as follows - Waited at airport for over two hours for speedboat which after 16 hours travelling is not ideal to say the least ! Limited choice of drinks and cocktails weren’t the best . Anything not in the A I plan was expensive. First time we’ve ever been charged extra for oil when having spa treatment the spa is also close to arrival jetty so not that relaxing when the boats are constantly revving engines outside ! It would have been nice if snacks were available when restaurants were closed as in other places we’ve been and the mini bar needs improvement. Also we were surprised to see diesel tractors being used ( sometimes very early in morning ) as opposed to the buggies on other islands. The entertainment leaves at lot to be desired as the same duo are on six nights each week and sorry to say were very poor in sound and choice of songs (although the D J was very good ) . Shop was also very expensive $58 plus tax for sun cream . We had a seat in restaurant by doors near ocean to try and benefit from the sea breeze but on more than one occasion people were smoking right outside and smoke was blowing through over tables ( I smoke and didn’t even consider lighting up so near to where people are eating . Overall we had a great time and the staff were on it at all times although hotel was at less than 50% occupancy so could be different when full. Probably wouldn’t return but only because there are a lot more places to see !

Pro : Comfy beds , clean rooms , smart tvs , housekeeping staff , beautiful sea life and only a few good hotel staff , great breakfast. Special mention to Shubham who took great care of us at the restaurant during all our meals, decent wifi Cons : damp walls in the room even though they were just renovated , the bathrooms have a very weird distinct smell, some of the staff are really unprofessional for eg. picking up my food plate even when I was eating it , the concierge who’s clueless , they have an app and expect you to download it before arrival even when they haven’t mentioned it to you , all things are done on the app but they rarely do reply to the messages and are a day late in their replies , the most unpleasant thing I noticed was the staff in the blue shirts during the buffet service were taking plates and eating with the guests , I think they were managers and felt like they were on a holiday , excursions are very limited and overpriced and don’t expect them to happen as even with a grey cloud in the sky they cancel it , we booked a sunset dolphin cruise and it got cancelled every evening, they really don’t care to inform you and you have to walk 10 minutes to the dive centre to find out , we stayed in the lagoon villa and were quite far from the restaurants and bar, the least they could do is getting a buggy to pick and drop or even provide cycles , it always hot or raining so this is the least to expect from them when you’re paying sooo much money, food is a miss and the live food counters are not manned sometimes which I find strange , their dinner buffet in the evening is the absolute worst the staff stop giving a damn and the food quality is really bad and we have slept hungry all the nights we were there, it was my wife’s birthday and told them to do some room decoration which was not done , the phones in the room have no mention how to contact the reception or concierge, helengili is known to be one of the best reefs in the Maldives but they have a lot of food waste and garbage floating around on their reef and outside our lagoon pool villa which was not a pleasant site or to swim in to be honest Overview : I’m sure there are much better properties here , it is definitely avoidable as some staff are just lacklustre and there are a given few staff who are great the their job , They dispose the food waste in to the ocean and it floats outside our water villa, not clean at all , food is average at best, Make a wise decision before booking this property.

Lovely resort with amazing reef This was my 12th stay in the Maldives. Everytime I visit I try to stay at a different resort as the islands and the vibes can be so different. This time round I visited with two friends ( one of them never been to the Maldives before). The island transfer is by speedboat which can take around 40 minutes. We visited in May and even know I was sort of expecting it, I was still shocked by the rainy weather! It rained nearly every day and was always overcast a part from a couple of mornings. We stayed in a beach villa with pool on the sunset side of the island. The beach on this side is quite narrow and there is a bit of erosion. The room is just big enough for three people and there is a small patio at the front by the private pool. The bathroom is quite big and has lots of amenities. The beach on the sunrise of the island is wider but towards the end you can find some remains from the restoration they did few months previously. The bar area is quite big and there is a big pool near by with lots of sun beds. The are three restaurants. You can go to one of the other ones as it’s included in your stay if you stay for more than 7 nights. The main restaurant is buffet style and offers a good choice of food with a main focus on Asian cuisine. The curry corner it’s great. For breakfast, lunch and dinner there is a great number of dishes to choose from and your drinks orders are taken at the table. The beach restaurant was lovely as the vibe and atmosphere is great and welcoming. Also the food and service was very attentive. The Indian restaurant has a great location and the food and service is lovely here too. What makes this island special is the amazing house reef with some of the most colourful coral I have ever seen in the Maldives. You can snorkel on both sides of the island but be aware of the currents. We also used the Spa on a rainy day and it was fantastic. Great location, beautiful gardens and amazing treatment. I gave four stars to the resort only because there could be a better choice of cocktails and drinks, more European food available and different live music by the bar in the evening. All in all a very nice stay despite the rainy weather

We were guests at the renovated resort in May to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. I would also like to mention the guys from the yoga and fitness center, who are very hard-working. The boat crew was fantastic and made our free fishing trip a unique experience. But the gardeners and employees who clean the beach every day are also so hard-working and cleaned the path of leaves several times a day. You always had the feeling that every employee was happy when they met us. We have never experienced anything like this before, you were always smiled at. I would recommend this resort to everyone. The general manager, Mr. Shakir, can be proud of his team. This vacation is certainly not cheap, but the price-performance ratio was really good for us. Just had a wonderful stay at the Oblu Helengeli. Loved our Lagoon villa. Staff are very attentive and welcoming . Our room attendant , Suthin was fantastic as too were Mary and Denny at the Spa. So many staff spoke to us and asked us how our holiday was going? The snorkelling was amazing. Saw Turtles, sharks on the house reef as well as masses of coloured fish. It is so beautiful. The coral is not as colourful as the Red Sea but so many colourful fish. What I loved was that I felt very safe there with lifeguards and well positioned rings along the reef so you could take a break. Life jackets are provided. Ask at the Dive centre where to start snorkelling to start with. We went from the bar area with the current to the end of the pier as we got more confident. It made it very relaxing and enjoyable but you need to know which way the current is and look at the colour of the flags. Food was very good and delicious with lots of choice. I like cod, sea bream, salmon etc at home and that was not available here. Lots of reef fish which tasted more meaty. Spa massages were amazing. Quite expensive but worth it. I got a package of 3 one hour massages for 260 dollars including taxes. Lots of lovely places to sit and be with nature. Grill restaurant was lovely. It was my Birthday whilst I was away and ever bit of my day was made special with room decoration, spa bed decoration and evening meal at the Grill table decoration. Thank you to all the staff. You really do go that extra mile. We have had a wonderful holiday.

Firstly we have been to a few 5*islands in the Maldives and have had great service however the staff on this island are amazing, happy, smiling and they couldn’t do enough for you they are a credit to the company, they made our holiday. Shout outs to Haneef our room attendant, lovely, professional friendly and so helpful and our room was spotless every day. The lovely Wita in the bar, all the restaurant staff too many to name all wonderful, however our two weeks were made special by the following staff, Anni, Namarata, Haikal, Sappe, Simpa, Margana, Ellie, Aafag, Risky, Shabhum, Varun, Rittu thankyou to you all. The omelette men sorry didn’t catch his name best omelettes ever. Now for the main points in the review. Rooms; beach villa with pool. Large comfortable and have everything you need a very large comfortable bed, a good sized fridge, a powerful hairdryer toiletries and mini bar and water delivered daily, fresh beach towels every day. Large bathroom ,good shower. The pool is serviced every day. The pool opens onto the beach and we were opposite one of the snorkelling channels. The island has a tropical tree lined walkway which is beautifully lit at night. The restaurant looks over the beach and reef? The food is good and there is a large variety of international and vegetarian dishes. All inclusive includes breakfast lunch dinner and snacks drinks and depending on your length of stay visits to the 2 al a carte restaurant the grill and Raga. Both really nice food and service. The snorkelling is amazing lots of fish and turtles. The best snorkelling off the sunset pier allows you to float above the drop off and stay near the rings around the reef and brings you in via a channel near the restaurant, we spent our days snorkelling and thoroughly enjoyed it. Areas to note: the reef is a bit bleached in places and would benefit from a coral replanting programme to ensure its future, also on arrival a reminder to guests not to walk on the reef as it damages the coral, we saw several guests not using the channels and it’s important for the future of reefs that everyone takes care. Entertainment was a bit repetitive however that is not our thing anyway. Management communication could be improved as we had to ask about a few things they over rely on the app which is useful however a human touch is needed now and again. Front office staff were helpful when we needed them. The trips included in the package were good sunset cruise was lovely and we saw dolphins near the boat, the fishing trip was fun although we didn’t catch anything. Friends we met caught loads the day before. All in all a beautiful 4* island with 5* staff and a wonderful holiday.

Our 5 night stay at Oblu was nothing short of a dream. From the warm welcome through the entire stay, we felt like we were on a paradise island with the world's problems far far away. It was relaxation, luxury and a wholesome first experience of the Maldives and we plan to return as soon as we can next year! I enjoyed the mixture of guests from couples to families and friends - it is a place for all.
The food, drinks and snack options were varied, accounting for different dietary requirements and seemed like there was something for every flavour palette from Western to Eastern options with everything in between. Food was plentiful and constantly replenished and drinks were great too, the bar and waiting staff excellent in all areas of the resort. A flutist and evening entertainment was an additional touch. The restaurant was lovely one evening and staff went above and beyond to make a cake and decorate the room for my birthday as well as all saying happy birthday throughout the day. It felt very special.
The sunset villa was spacious, clean and had great sealife just below. A great room for 2 or 3 people and rhe view was incredible from the private pool too. We loved how an effort has been made throughout the resort to maintain a sustainable and natural environment in terms of materials used for the design.
Excursions, both included and paid were well led and worth it. The location is home to beautiful marine life and it is such a privilege to see it. Activities organised, from active experiences such as yoga and core classes to meditation and creative lessons were brilliant and mostly free of charge. I really admire the effort to raise awareness about marine conversation through education/ lectures too.
The in house artist, Dino, was excellent and created memories of our trip through paintings which we bought. The photoshoot was a nice touch too adn great photographer.
I cannot compliment thank the staff enough. Hospitality at its finest. A big thanks to our personal host, Ijju who was there at all times for any questions or simply checking in.
We did not want to leave just yet and were already booking our next trip in the departure lounge before we left! I cannot wait to return with family!

We have just returned from the most fantastic holiday at Oblu Nature Helengeli! We were returning to the Island after a lovely stay in 2022 when we adored the relaxed atmosphere, the staff and beautiful reef. We did feel a few things needed to change and be updated to make it perfect and were therefore very eager to experience the resort after the recent refresh. It certainly did not disappoint ! Everything we had previously loved had been thankfully retained and the areas we were concerned about had all been updated or changed. The resort is a paradise - so relaxing and easy going. Every single staff member was incredibly friendly with a smile, greeting and providing superb service. The Management should be congratulated on their training of their staff. In fact the Management were also excellent. Very visible in an unobtrusive way to make sure guests were happy and with no areas of concern. The new bar was very comfortable and a significant upgrade from the previous one. Evening entertainment was generally very good as well - the duet from Cuba were amazing. The food in the main restaurant had also been improved with a much better and varied choice. Our room, which was one of the Lagoon Villas, was beautiful. We had previously stayed in one of these and it had shown a few signs of being slightly 'tired'. Now it is lovely. Peaceful, comfortable and luxurious with fabulous views out to sea. Additionally it is now possible to swim in the channel outside which we couldn't do before as it was too shallow. We also had two great meals in the Just Grill ( also upgraded and now in a new beautiful building ) and Raga Route a new Indian Restaurant with excellent cooking. The reef was magical as before. We snorkelled every day seeing a wonderful array of brightly coloured fish, plus turtles and sharks. Dolphins were also frequently seen near the Island. All the pool areas and general areas were maintained in excellent order throughout our stay. The gym and spa were also lovely places to visit. Final mention must be made to all the staff who made our stay such a wonderful, special experience ! it is hard to mention them all by name but Binod, Aafaag, Deli, Simpa, Nisha, Libin were all so brilliant. There were many many others. We were so sad to leave. We would happily have stayed for another week or more and our time on the Island raced by far too quickly. Just to end by saying that we will be returning for another visit very soon and really cannot wait to be back at Oblu Nature Helengeli again !

10 minutes, but there is also a buggy that drives during breakfast lunch and dinner time. The whole island lenght is only 800 meters i believe so it's never a very long walk. Also the walk is stunning on white sand surrounding by palmtrees.
