OBLU NATURE Helengeli stands out for its attentive service and welcoming vibe, with guests often lauding the hotel's activities, such as sunset cruises. The rooms impress with their cleanliness and modernity, offering stunning views that complement the hotel's idyllic beachfront setting.
While the comprehensive amenities, including the house reef and dining options, garner appreciation, some travelers raise concerns over environmental practices and the cost of excursions. Despite occasional inconsistencies, many deem the all-inclusive package a good value.

What an absolutely outstanding place! First thing I will say is make sure you download the Oblu app before you leave for holiday so that you can complete the check in process at leisure - this includes uploading photos of passports, providing flight details etc etc. We travelled as a family - 2 parents and 2 university age children and had decided to go to the Maldives for snorkelling & diving. We were met at the airport by a representative and taken to an air conditioned area to wait for the boat. We didn’t have to wait too long before boarding the boat with about 8 other people. The speed boat ride took about 50 minutes and, if needed, there was water and wi-fi. Once at the island we were greeted by the welcome team (with a little welcome dance) and then taken to our room. We had a 2 bedroom family beach villa on the lagoon side with quite a decent size private pool. The villa was beautifully appointed, very clean with 2 good size bathrooms (shower part is outside) and flip flops, cotton gowns, life jackets, large umbrellas all provided (snorkelling gear can be picked up for the water sports centre and is complementary) The main bedroom has a seating area & fridge which is constantly replenished with water and complementary beers/soft drinks. Outside the villa at the back there is a covered seating area, an area to wash sand off feet, beach towels and sun loungers on the beach (just past the pool). The view from the villa was simply stunning! The main buffet restaurant was very spacious with outside areas and plenty of fans inside. Food was incredible! Lots and lots of choice and beautiful flavours. Our family love fish & seafood so we were delighted to see a big choice of fish at lunch & dinner and were often spoilt for choice! As we stayed for 9 nights the Island package provided 2 a la carte meals at Raga Route (Indian) and Just Grill (seafood) which were both exquisite. Helen’s bar was a lovely spot to have a pre-dinner drink watching the sunset.. ALL Staff were friendly, polite and looked like they loved their work. A quick shout out to Rajendra from house keeping who kept our villa beautifully clean & well stocked with fresh towels and new water. We really appreciated the clever towel decorations on our bed - each day was different. We had selected Helengeli for the house reef and were not disappointed. The snorkelling was outstanding on both sides with thousands of colourful fish and lots of bigger marine life like turtles, eagle rays and reef sharks (white & black tipped). We spent hours snorkelling each day and always saw something new - we are strong swimmers so could manage the current but for those less comfortable it is possible just to drift with the current and wear one of the provided life jackets. We were delighted to see the coral’s condition was not too bad although the colours are not as vivid as the Red Sea. We also went diving a few times and enjoyed the whole experience. We are experienced divers (Rescue level) and were very impressed with all the staff and the boat crew. The equipment was already on the boat (and put together) and the dive site briefings were clear and fun. They have 30+ sites to go to around Helengeli and I think the longest boat ride we had was 25 minutes. We dived with Robbie and each dive was just short of 60 mins so we felt we got our money’s worth as diving is differently not cheap!!! We had about one hour on the surface between dives but second dive was always shallower so monitoring for no-deco although good practice was not really necessary. The dive boat leaves about 8 am and back before 12 so lots of the day left for snorkelling!!!! Helengeli is a very small island and very quiet which was perfect for what we were looking for. WE LOVED Helengeli and will definitely go back!!!

Our team works diligently to ensure that every guest has a comfortable and memorable stay, and it is heartwarming to know that you appreciated the effective air conditioning, comfy beds, amenities and the cleanliness of the rooms. We are amazed to read your delightful feedback and we are very grateful for your praise of all aspects of the nature island. It’s an absolute to know that you have enjoyed the exceptional level of hospitality services of the resort, from its arrival to departure with an unforgettable experience on Sea view fitness center, Infinity pool, Spa, sandy beaches, Spice, Raga Route and Just Grill Restaurants, Food, beverages at Helens bar and the amazing house reef with millions of amazing marine creatures and so on…… I will personally pass on your special mention to Rajendra, who will be delighted to know that his efforts and friendly demeanor made your stay extra special. Often reviews start with excellent! great service! and so on... Helengeli is not just another island resort. From the moment you land at Mali you are in capable hands. The hypnotic beat of the drums signals your arrival where you are greeted with warm smiles, at that very moment your holiday begins. luggage whisked away to your rooms and you are provided with refreshment whilst the short checkin procedure is completed if like me you had not already completed it.
The accommodation is immaculately clean, spacious and with wonderful views, the outside area leads you directly into the sea or is a short 20M walk through golden sands to crystal waters. Its not good is perfect.
The location of everything is ideal, nothing is too far away but should you want to take it easy there was transport available on request.
The food was varied and delicious I was in heaven being able to try some of the local curry dishes but equally impressed when i could have roast lamb for dinner on Sunday. Eating breakfast on the waterfront was food for the soul.
Diving which is a love of mine is a real treat on Helengeli. The dive master, Luigi, whom is staggeringly qualified and with more experience than most is both engaging and charming. They cater for all levels of experience and the team make each dive a relaxing and pleasurable event.
I was not able to do an Island visit due to restrictions but i did do a couple of evening fishing trips which is a great experience for all the family.
So yes it is excellent and does provide great service but its so much more..
A Big Thank you

We visited for 2 weeks from the 15th March (or as its now known, COVID time). Firstly the resort dealt with this very well, having hand wash on the boat ride, medical check on arrival and then every morning before you entered the buffet and on the departure giving faces masks and packed lunch to make up for the possibility of a lack of food on the plane home. By the start of our second week at the resort it felt almost empty, with only a handful of people around so in some ways it was nice to have what felt like almost an exclusive island to ourselves!
The island itself is kept very clean and tidy all day by the staff, the main path up the island is kept clear so people can walk around without any footwear all day if they choose.
The rooms were probably the best maintained and cleaned of any holiday I have been on. We stayed in a deluxe beach villa and it was amazing, the photos on the web site do not lie. The rooms had UK plugs so no need for lots of adapters and the safe was large enough to get all my camera equipment in. The fridge contained plenty of fresh water for each day and some other drinks.
We used the pools a few times, they were very nice, but we could not help spend most of our time in the sea as the snorkelling is the highlight of the trip to this island.
Every day we would go out multiple times for hours snorkelling along the drop off, I ended up with hours of footage of the fish, rays, sharks, turtles and other creatures. The current can be strong but it generally only pushing you along the reef so we felt safe, plus each room has life vests provided so I did use that when snorkelling, and the life guard has a jet ski so he will come and collect you If you look like you are having trouble.
We ate at the buffet every day and the food quality was excellent, there was a nice variety of food and despite me being a fussy eater I found something to eat every meal time.
If I had to pick a negative thing, I could only think of one and that would be the beach sunbeds were very solid so not the most comfortable for a long lay down on the beach, but then I suppose it stops them getting blown away in high winds.
It was a truly amazing holiday and we hope to return one day, I recommend anyone visiting the Maldives and wants to go snorkelling to pick this resort.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and I feel very bad that at the moment the Maldives is closed to tourists due to the global pandemic and that all the staff rely on the tourism for their livelihood, I hope things improve soon and it’s safe to return to such a beautiful place.

Just returned from the most magical ten days at Oblu. From the moment you arrive and are welcomed by the friendly staff in the picturesque reception area to the moment you leave, you are treated superbly. The accommodation, we had deluxe beach villa 217, is spacious, modern and with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and the cleaning staff are friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of seeing our room attendant, Ahmed, daily and he decorated our room on a couple of occasions, which was a lovely touch. The restaurant, Spice, serves fantastic fresh food, with tonnes of variety, and the location is overlooking crystal clear seas. The drinks are of high quality too. The adult pool is an oasis of calm, with an infinity pool overlooking the sea. The waiters in Helens Bar are friendly and the cocktails are brilliant. We had a private dining experience for Valentines Day, which was unforgettable. The snorkelling, I was a complete novice, is breathtaking, and the sunset jetty is just an experience to walk down. All in all this place is absolutely unbelievable. If you get the chance, book it, you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely return one day. Thank you Oblu for making our holiday the best ever.

Firstly I would like to say what a wonderful holiday my husband and I had.
Starting with the warm greeting we had upon arrival, we were met by the General Manager Luisa and her staff.
The food was fantastic with plenty of choice for everyones tastes even if you requested something different they were very accommodating.
The staff were very friendly and were always there to assist you.
Our room boy Sundip was very professional even when we said our room did not need cleaning, it was always cleaned to an exceptional high standard.
The Spa was amazing with excellent service my husband had several treatments which he thoroughly enjoyed.
The island was excellently maintained.
Even down to the maintenance of our room our safe battery was running low within minutes they arrived and changed it.
I would highly recommend this resort, we have already booked to go back next year. I personally don't think you would find a better more friendly place in the Maldives.
The snorkelling was great I had a guide one day which was really good if you are a nervous person I would highly recommend this.
A huge thank you to Luisa for being a fantastic manager which reflects with all her staff.
THANK YOU FOR A BRILLIANT HOLIDAY.

We spent six unforgettable days in this dreamy resort. From our arrival to our departure our experience exceeded all our expectations.
We stayed in room 305 which is a Lagoon Villa with private pool. We found the room quiet and descreet, romantinc, with plenty of light all day long, spotless clean and from the terrace you could see (and swim with ) so many fishes, including tunas, barracudas and sharks which would come hunting small fishes early morning and at sunset just below our villa. The bathroom was huge with an open ceiling, with two sinks available.
All the staff was very professional and extremely kind and friendly; always smiling and available for any requests we might have.
Public spaces are very clean and well mantained too. There is plenty of space for all the guests of the resort and any of the public spaces were ever crowded.
You can borrow from the resort anything you may need for snorkeling. Snorkeling in this resort was amazing, there is plenty of reef and we could swim with sea turtles, sharks, barracudas and eagle rays.
We also had a massage at the spa, which was not included in our package. The price for an hour massage was fair. The spa ambience was really relaxing, beautiful and quite.
Food & Beverage: we enjoyed the unlimited drinks we had included in our package, there is a fair choise of wines, beers, spirits, cocktails and mocktails.
We have always dined at the buffet: plenty of different choises for every meal, every day of the week. The food quality was not always excellent though.
Every evening there was some animation at the main bar: we found it nice but a bit repetitive.
Overall it was an extremely pleasant stay and we felt so much relaxed. This resort is great for couples who want to have a romantic, relaxing stay. There are almost no kids around so there is quiteness throughout the whole island.

Enjoyed a 2 week break on this lovely island. The beach bungalow with outdoor bathroom was comfortable and kept clean and tidy by our very pleasant room attendant who really looked after us. All the staff on the island are warm and welcoming - always with a smile and a pleasant greeting. The snorkelling on the house reef going right from the jetty was good to excellent on most days . Good idea to check with the lifeguard about which way the current is flowing as it changes day to day and during the day. The night snorkelling trip was awesome! It’s not the best island for swimming in the sea due to the currents and rocky/ broken coral bottom and sea shoes are a must. The food in spice restaurant is great - something for everyone including healthy options, lots of salads ,vegetables and vegan dishes . The outside dining area over the water watching the fishes is lovely. Our favourite were the wonderful Maldivian style curries . We were so happy not to have any problems with mosquitoes and this was a real bonus ! The wines on offer on the all inclusive are a great variety and of good quality

Me and my wife were contemplating on several resorts in Maldives but our choice has fell on OBLU by Atmosphere at Helengeli due to its location, size of the island and raving reviews about home reef with its many inhabitants. We came there for 7 nights/8 days and we immediately fell in love with this island/hotel and its cozy and chill atmosphere. There weren't too many ppl in the hotel when we came there on October 2nd, I'd say about 20% occupancy. Even thou island seemed to be deserted at first, visitors were slowly arriving and by the time we left there were 30-35%.
All beaches were clean, water was clear and hotel territory was neatly landscaped.
Beach Villa at which we have resided was always cleaned in the morning, fresh towels and very vast with outside porch near the beach.
Diving experience was truly amazing and led by TGI diving center. Big props to instructor Luigi Scardigno who was very profesional and very experienced with Maldivian waters and diving sites.
The stuff at the reception was very nice and helping. Restaurant menu was always new and I can't recall if it repeated itself for the whole stay we were there. Very nice meat and fish selection along with vegetarian and deserts choices.
Bar was always a get together with other ppl in the evening with great selection of alcohol, nice music, and great staff working there. Special thx to bartender Lahiru, who was always on point with drinks, socializing and fun to be around.
Thx to everyone for having us there on our honey moon trip and making it unforgettable)))

We visited in February and everything was great. We booked through Angelfish Travel and they were very helpful with all my questions and their price was much better value than the larger travel agents.
The boat ride from the airport was very choppy so be prepared! The snorkeling was amazing! Food was high quality and a good selection. All the staff are friendly and provide great service. Bar staff in the bar were over to take our order as soon as we sat down. We stayed in a basic beach room for the start of our holiday and I was pleasantly surprised how spacious and nice it was for a basic room category. We then upgraded to a pool water villa for a night and it was amazing being able to swim and snorkel in the sea straight from our room and sit in our pool watching the fish swim by in the clear sea below. Then for the last night we were in a deluxe beach villa near the jetty which again was lovely. The only difference between the basic villa and the deluxe beach villa is that the deluxe villas are mainly on the north side of the island where the sea is calmer and it has an extra sink in the bathroom. Apart from that it is the same as the basic room so probably not worth paying the extra unless you are concerned about the sea being too rough to swim in outside your room.
The snorkeling is the best part of this resort. I saw sharks, an octopus, starfish, sword fish and too many other fish too mention! They provide life jackets and snorkeling equipment on the all inclusive plan. The snorkel wasn’t the best as it didn’t have a valve so I used my own full face snorkel that I brought with me. The sea was very choppy when we were there so we could only snorkel off the jetty as the red flag was up everywhere else but that didn’t matter as there was so much to see from the jetty!
We didn't use the spa as prices for treatments were double what we'd usually pay back at home in the UK.
Overall an amazing holiday.

+1
It's all very well adapted to the new situation COVID-19 and each guest has the temperature checked every morning. There are also other hygienic measures in place.
The environment is very quiet and relaxed and almost everybody walks barefoot all day.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with a lot of details and amenities. The open bathroom is incredible. The private pool has fresh water and it was very nice to see the sunset from the pool.
There are not many mosquitos because they do a special treatment every day.
We didn't miss a thing in the All Inclusive formula. The cocktails included are very good and there's a DJ spinning music every night at the Helen's bar.
Dress code is very casual even at nights.
In the current situation, you can order your meal from a daily menu with a variety of dishes. After 7 nights they never repeated, everything was so yummy and very nice presented. Congrats to the chefs!! We enjoyed the environmental music as well and the sand under the tables.
The reef is also quite rich, it's recommended to start from the Jetty and follow the current until the beach, two sticks show a channel of sand to reach the beach. There is an infinity of colourful fish and you can spot turtles, eagle rays, manta rays, baby sharks, barracudas, etc.
We also contracted a private ride to spot dolphins right before the sunset and after 15min sailing we found a nice group of friendly dolphins playing with the boat.
The free 45min massage was very nice and complete. They are very professional and careful.
There's also a little shop in the island and the lady opened for us in her day off, she was very attentive and helpful.
The free speedboat transfer from/to the airport was super well organized. This is very appreciated and it only takes about 50min.
All the staff working there is very caring and close, it was very interesting and pleasant to chat with them. The overall structure is very well maintained, managed and taken care of.
If we'd come back to Maldives we would chose Helengeli again for sure.
Thanks everyone for making our stay simply perfect!! You all rock guys!!

We had the same anxiety as you and in fact it said on the booking documents that food and drink ended after 11 am but this simply is not the case and you will be allowed food and drink after this time our boat picked us up at 5pm and we could have food and drink right up until that time. PS you will really enjoy this island don't worry.
If you e mail they are good at getting back to you. We do not travel with children so I can’t answer. Life jackets and masks. And fins are provided in different sizes at the water sports area.
The sharks you find on the reef do not bother humans and are either black or white tip reef sharks or nurse sharks. They will swim away from you.
