Going to a friends wedding, so he made the reservation - Due to location,,, I thought a very quaint hotel, staff friendly and let me check in at 11:55... Then I sat out side and they served me coffee on the sun terrace... Lovely... Really good location just off the 223 highway. Rooms clean and tidy, internet free and strong. Breakfast really really good, fresh coffee made to order. Fresh juices bread cheese ham, jams cereals etc. Really really good! Staff super friendly - These guys make this hotel special... Highly recommend!!

Hotel Costello looks unpreposessing from the road and the interior doesn't disappoint one's preconceptions. The room I occupied was perfectly functional, with good air-conditioning, but no touch to lend any kind of charm. It was clean, but the bed was just adequate in size. For me, the fact that there was no outdoor space where one could sit made my stay more uncomfortable than it need have been.

In order to take a break during a long drive back from the Alps to Rome, we decided to spend a night near Siena, also to take an afternoon walk (and dinner) in one of the most beautiful Italian cities (the more I see it, the more I think so). To optimize the stop we thought to spend the night outside the city, and found this hotel, just outside Siena, well connected by the highway (10 minutes drive to arrive to the parking lots in the city center). The hotel’s look is that “highway hotel” one, but it is very clean, with large rooms, perfect bathrooms, comfortable and large beds. Beautiful view on the Senesi hills. Warm and helpful staff, particularly useful and effective the road directions, supplied by the extremely kind lady at the desk, in order to get to the the town (and park the car) even in a soccer match day! Very good breakfast and its choice. The restaurant was closed for holidays, but it seems to be one of the points of strength of the hotel. On the whole, the perfect hotel for a fast visit of Siena. Perhaps not the best for a longer stay, where I would try a more “Senese” and charming hotel (unfortunately paying other prices...), but for a stop& go it is just OK Last but not least, excellent value, especially considering the usual Siena prices!
