Detailed Reviews
Stayed here while on the Camino de Santiago. It's probably a kilometre or so walk from the Camino which seems a long way at the end/start of a day's walking but the big bathroom with deep bath and loads of hot water made up for the extra steps!
Dinner for us was not in the bar which had lots of atmosphere, but in a large cold function room. That was a bit disappointing but the food was fine. Breakfast was in the bar area - croissants and orange juice and coffee etc.
We had a delicious lunch washed down by rosé wine sitting outside the hotel - no complaints!

The Gau Txori has an EXTREMELY popular bar and restaurant. The motel is pretty much of an afterthought. My room was ok. But it was another Spanish hotel or motel with paper thin walls. Fortunately, the person in the next room was very quiet. As some other reviews have mentioned, it's a pretty good hike to get to this property, which is on the edge of town. After arriving in town via the trail from Roncevalles, it's probably another kilometer to get to this property. Stay here if you want the best food in Zubiri. Otherwise....

This hotel was OK. 3rd day on the Camino and we were tired. The room was ready and check in was a bit confusing. The room was fairly clean but the bathroom had mold along the bathtub caulking and the shower curtain was dirty. Breakfast was fine.

Two of us were doing the French Section of the Camino last week and stayed in 5 hotels in total and all were fine apart from this (this had no stars like the others!). Not of an acceptable standard and we were very disappointed, tired and upset as it was completely different to all the other accommodation. It is definitely not a hotel but a cross between a cheap motel and a hostel. Located at a very busy road junction surrounded by trucks and a petrol stations, lots of cars, bikes and motorbikes. Inside the bar, it was full of men playing cards, drinking, kids screaming and not a particularly pleasant atmosphere at all. It was not particularly clean and did not smell great. I couldn't imagine eating a meal there.
The owners, two men did not seem interested in anyone or anything, just to make money but not to provide a pleasant experience. We had met another lady (we had met her in other places along the way) who came into the Bar and asked had we seen our room which we hadn't at this stage. She told us that she had seen her room which was small, dirty and smelly with no shower. She decided she could not stay and we decided that we could not either and so this was all translated by the other lady in Spanish as I only speak French and German, he spoke no English. He didn't seem to care, just shrugged and did not offer anything to help or persuade us to stay.
I asked for our bags. He showed me to the back of the premises where the bedrooms were located and there in an open hallway were our two bags which anyone had access to and could have taken them. I was shocked that they were not put aside in a secure location as in other accommodation.
I would not recommend this place to anyone and suggest if having to stay near Zubiri, there is another lovely place located a little further on which is right on the Camino route, another hour by foot or take a taxi there - Hotel Akerreta!

Great place to stay after the walk from Roncesvalles. The food is probably the best in town. The beds and rooms are adequate and comfortable. The service is great and the staff are really nice.
Only beware, note that it's an extra 12 minute walk from the trail - which can be hard after a long trek down the hill.

We were recommended this restaurant on the edge of Zubiri by our hotel owner. The restaurant owner's brother is the local butcher and the meat is said to be top quality. My husband ordered the veal stew and I had a veal escalope. They were both very good and genuinely home made as were the other simple dishes - hand cut freshly prepared chips and classic creme caramel (flan). The service was quick, efficient and friendly and the value was excellent.
No pretensions, just good home cookin'.

+1
This hotel is on the edge of town on the main road, the opposite end to the Camino out of Zubiri. The sign outside is falling apart so I was worried that it would disappoint but actually it was not bad. I had one of the best lunches on the Camino de Santiago for 10 Euros and although travelling solo, I was comfortable in the restaurant which is open to the public. The waiter could have put he plates down more quietly but was no doubt used to a male clientele! The facilities were perfectly adequate and it was quiet at night. It's a bit off the beaten track but a great place to stay if you have come by car as there is a large car park. I would stay there again.

This is definitely a hostel rather than a hotel, however the rooms were a fine size and the bathrooms were clean. It was fine accommodation for a walking holiday, however perhaps not so much if it is a relaxing holiday you are after. About 10 mins direct walk from the centre, however the centre is not exactly large so it was fine for us.

Was wary after other reviews. Booked into here by travel agent while walking the Camino. Public holiday on the day we got here so plenty of people around. Room more than adequate, large bathroom with full bath(excellent hot water). Good wifi in bar area. No complaints. Only rate it 3 due to being a bit out of the way(no pun intended)
