Made a booking via Booking.com ...for one night in Dec 2016 (pre Christmas) .photos looked fine and we were aware it was a budget end Motel.....however, the outside and inside of unit was unkempt, run down, shabby, dirty and had a smell of mustiness. Did not stay, just too unpleasant.

I loved this motel it wont be another motel again as it has been bought by a road contractor to house his workings doing the work on the kapiti expressways. The unit i mainly stayed it was unit 4 big enough for a couple or single person. Always free drinking coffee chocolate and tea.Yes it was from the 60s 70s era but to me that was part of its charm.Plus vista views of the golf course.50 sky channels were good and a free bbq and pool. The managers had 2 nice cats and 2 dogs. It was quiet the times i stayed and ill miss this old lady.

This has been the worst place I have stayed in for quite some time. I hate to give bad reviews but feel the need to. Yes, it was cheap at $165 a night BUT cheap should not mean nasty. Run down and dated is one thing - dirty is another! It was dirty - there was snot stuck to the sheets of the queen bed. There was hair in the freezer, there was chip crumbs in the bowl on the table - nope did not even look in the shower, after all the above (And no we did not use anything in the motel - had to eat out, and thankfully had own cups and drinks). AND, it does not end there, not the motels fault but at 4am in the morning there where people banging and carrying on out outside. This lasted from 4-5.30am. So all in all I unfortunately been put off from Paraparaumu full stop. **Yes, we did advise the acting person in charge - but he said it was a cheap motel - so there ya have it. I have stayed in nicer/cleaner backpackers for cheaper!

Basic but clean and comfortable. Recently sold so hopefully new owners will update kitchen and bathroom sink, but otherwise bedroom area and shower had been upgraded fairly recently. If just sleeping and eating in the unit why would you want anything more?

We recently stayed a week at this motel. It is in a great location, near the beach and shops and golf course, but is in a very poor state of repair. Our unit was not serviced at all during our week, and in fact we even had to ask for a new toilet roll when ours ran out, as there was no spare roll. The unit was dirty, the grounds unkempt, and we saw no sign of maintenance/cleaning being carried out at all. The unit was very cold, and the only heater appeared to be governed so that it didn't go over a low setting. Our towels remained damp and unchanged for the week. Being run down to this extent seems to be such a waste of what could be a great asset to Paraparaumu.

This is a small motel that has not had anything done to it since the 60's when it was built The bed was very comfortable but everything else in the unit looks as though it came from the thrift shop. The buildings are in poor repair, very cold as there are no drapes on most of the windows, the heater in the unit is inadequate for the winter, the units are not serviced during a stay( mine was 5 nights), there is a notice in the kitchen advising that bed sheets are only changed once a week but only on request and that guests must wash all he dishes and replace them in the cupboard. There is no sound proofing between the units and it is easy to hear people on either side conversing and snoring. In this day and age putting batts in the wall cavity would be a cheap remedy. The managers are very friendly and helpful, but a sign at the reception makes it clear that they are only available from 8.30am to 8.30pm."Do not ring the bell outside these hours" make guests feel a bit like a burden. It appears that there are only 7 units but parking is a bit of a problem. The grounds and gardens are very unkempt. Although the unit was clean , I feel that it is more like a cabin in a camping ground rather than a motel. There are many more motels in the area charging the same rate that are a better quality and experience. The units do not have telephones- (most people use their cell phones--- I don't! Not a recommended establishment

Have stayed here twice. Each time I have been entered in DOG SHOWS. My dog has been happy in her crate in the car. I have found the units spacious and very quiet. The unit was very clean and I would recommend this motel to anyone wanting a reasonable priced stay.

We stayed one night in Unit 5 of this motel. While a lovely view of the golf course, it was certainly a most basic motel. On a positive note, it was very clean and towels were good, however the unit was decorated with what can only be described as second-hand and sad old furniture. The 'bathroom' was smaller than a wardrobe and I could count the number of nozzles squirting water in the shower (my husband elected to wait until we drove home). I was astounded by the number of laminated notices in the kitchen area with instructions (apart from the essential evacuation notice) I counted five. Sorry to say that for $90 for the night, I am sure we could have done better, or perhaps paid a wee bit more for a much more pleasant room.

We stayed 2 nights. The unit we had was no bigger than a kennel for a St Bernard. The size of the bathroom area probably wouldn't meet minimum Government guidelines. The owners weren't very friendly. They were new owners but should've made an effort to update the motel's profile and services that are online. On the plus side it was well stocked with the usual stuff(microwave, cups, plates, cutlery etc). The bed was literally stuck in a corner and difficult to get in and out of.
