This BnB served its purpose which was to provide a comfy clean bed for a night, and breakfast at 6am The room was perfectly adequate if a bit dated in decor. Powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Previous reviews had mentioned a lot of noise from the main house…. For us It was beautifully quiet and peaceful. Others have complained about the DIY breakfast, but for us it was perfectly adequate and saved having to buy in our own supplies The bed although not that big was clean and comfy. Shame we didn’t have time to try out the pool and hot tub.

We stayed here for one night before heading over to Kapiti Island. We stayed in the Serengeti rooms with a large bedroom and living room with pull out couch. There is a small dinette with bread/spreads/tea for breakfast. It is located in a residential area but a short walk to the ferry we needed. The actual room is probably a 4 but the 5 is for the owners help getting there from the airport! He was so gracious to pick us up as our flight was greatly delayed and we did not arrive until after 9 pm. That type of service is worth it’s weight in gold so to speak after 2 days of flying !

Lovely large rooms - stayed in the African themed one. Luxurious bed and functional kitchenette/bathroom. Lots of little touches like games and books, DVDs. Friendly owner. Pool and spa there but we didn't use them.

We stayed for two nights in the Serengeti suite. The room was a really great size with separate lounge and kitchenette. Everything spotlessly clean. The breakfast was continental with lots of cereal. Choice and juice / range of teas /coffee. Bed very comfy and room really quiet. All pictures on the website very reflective of the room. Host was really nice and welcoming and checked if we needed any top ups of anything. Very short walk to town and boat club if you are doing the Kapiti island trip. Would happily stay here again if coming back to the area.

Wow, we are blown away. Beautiful room, orange juice, bottled water, several breakfast options including yoghurt, toast, muesli, several types of tea, a choice of coffees. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended, we will return.

From first contacting the owner Simon to check-in, our room, the Bordeaux was nothing short of fabulous! The breakfast supplies including juice water varieties of tea and coffees toast and variety of cereals along with fruit was wonderful. Particularly not having to meet up in a breakfast room like some B&B’s. We were able to lounge around in the supplied luxurious bathrobes whilst enjoying the ambience of our room looking out over the rear lawn. Private, quiet, and quirky. We will definitely be back. Simon thanks for looking after us so well.

We stayed overnight here after crossing on the ferry from Picton. It's about an hour north of the ferry terminal, and quite easy to find. The owners had put a heater on our room prior to arrival, which was nice. The room has its own separate access at the back of a private house. But it was quite noisy in the morning when people on the floor above us rose and moved about from 6am, with the floor creaking quite a lot. Breakfast was included in the room rate, with bread (for making toast), a variety of cereals and yoghurt, orange juice and tea and coffee making facilities supplied. The shower was great - high pressure. We noticed a bit of dust around the place, especially the blinds in the bathroom, which needed a really good clean, but the bed was clean and comfortable. There are several good restaurants locally near the beach. Walkable in fine weather.

We stayed here for one night before our trip to Kapiti Island. We stayed in the Bordeaux room which is upstairs. Very spacious with big picture windows looking over the garden with small balcony/terrace. The room was extremely comfortable with everything you needed and even some DVDs. Large bathroom and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was all provided in a separate area of the room with a fridge. Tea/coffee, yoghurts, tinned fruit, cereals bread for the toaster and spreads. Very good. There is a beautiful pool and jacuzzi as well but sadly as it was pouring down we weren't able to use them! Simon made us extremely welcome and gave the place areal personal touch. Thoroughly recommend and wish we could have stayed longer
