Detailed Reviews
I took 7 colleagues climbing at Froggatt edge and Castle Rock and we used Bryce’s accommodation which is clean and well suited for groups of climbers. The kitchen and lounge is comfortable, well equipped and ideal for groups and post climbing meals and discussion- complete with a great range of climbing magazines to wet your appetite. Bryce’s is situated centrally amongst some truly amazing climbing sites. Bryce was a pleasure to deal with and was extremely flexible during our planning and booking process, always ready to provide accurate and pertinent advice which helped to make our trip truly memorable. I highly recommend staying with Bryce, both for the high standard of reasonably priced accommodation and for his local knowledge advice and climbing expertise. His climbing shop is incredibly well stocked for its size. Thank you Bryce and I look forward to staying again in the future.

Over in New Zealand on holiday. Heard about Bryce's and had to make a trip down from Auckland. Rock climbing in the area was outstanding. Bryce's provides an amazing accompaniment with polished equipment to hire, clean and comfortable accommodation and a fully equipped kitchen. BBQ post climbing in the sun was a great to end an awesome day

I'm new to the sport of rock climbing, but I'm told that some of New Zealand's best bolted climbs are within easy travel of Bryce's - and that's why you'd stay here. Bryce's is basic accommodation, bunk rooms with own bathroom, and shared kitchen facilities, but the location is great for rock climbing. The man himself has a personality larger than the Waikato (the province in which he is located, and speaks with much 'animation'! He also runs a cafe and a rock climbing shop at the same location. The closest town is Kihikihi which is probably 30ish minutes away. The surrounding countryside is quite pretty with rolling hills, farm buildings and plenty of crags.
