Detailed Reviews
Arrived here no reception place manager lives on site. Toilets and shower facilities were very ordinary. Had to hold a button in to keep the water flowing also light went out half way through my shower as also had to push a button in to work. Cost was $70 for two people which was extremely over priced for facilities. Manager said wifi was good it was terrible did not work at all. Kitchen area also old pots and pans were falling apart.

This camp is overpriced for what it is, and compared to similar camps in the southern South Island. For the price you would expect cleaner, better maintained and more camper friendly facilities. Blocked drains, door locks broken and dirty facilities is not a good look

Kitchen was spacious but didn't have hot water dispenser. The power outlets and water points are co-shared in between two rows of powered sites, so some inconvenience if you happen to park in the lower row. No timer for hot shower but need to keep pressing the push button to keep the hot shower running, slight inconvenience though. Wi-Fi is available throughout the camping ground. As the site is facing the beach, the windchill can be quite cold.

Outside it was very nice. WiFi was good. Washrooms are dirty en need to be upgrated. 50 dollar is to much for what you get. The refridge in the kitchen smells terrible. The sinks were dirty and when you put on the taps everywhere came water.

Worst ever experience, organisation is dishonest and disraspectfull.
They make bookings and send confirmation then only to learn that your booking has been dishonoured and they are selling camp sites for 3 times what we paid.
This was a bluff oyster festival experience so be aware of underhand activity.

The campground isn't very big, so it's wise to phone ahead and book. The showers, units, kitchen, laundry and caravan sites are neat and well-maintained and the customer service is great. We felt that the prices and coin-operated facilities were a bit steep, so if you're on a budget it would be a good idea to shop around and compare. Being very close to the Stewart Island Ferry terminal is a big plus, as well as its proximity to the Bluff town centre.

After an entire day working then driving from Queenstown, While warming up our pasta water and me turning my back at the pan, the owner or manger of the camping AGGRESSIVELY accuse me of being disrespectful of the site because the water came up of the pan (not even spread on the cooker) and I did not notice. Do you think all small towns are old and boring? I did too, until I went to Omaui Camp.
Although Omaui is small it is one of the coolest places in New Zealand. It has everything, from beaches to luxurious grass hills. The locals are awesome and kind.
The camp had its own fun activities. Like the zipline, climbing wall and the bridge of doom (actually quite hard).
Personally I liked to lay down on the grass or beach and just chill out. There were all sorts of fun activities outside of camp like the rocky shore.
I would recommend Omaui Camp for a small, calm and quiet camp for when you just need a break.

Bathrooms absolutely terrible. Almost came out dirtier than went in. Showers had hair all through them - had not been cleaned. Disabled shower no ability to use showerhead holder, toilet cistern mouldy, window could not be closed and window sills no apparent cleaning for ages. For price of $25 pp worst experience in south island. Have stayed in much cheaper and much better cleanliness. Would not recommend.

Quality clean campground. Best for staying in their few rooms available or in a camper van (several power sites).
The wind howls through Bluff and the campground is looking out over the bay(and aluminium smelter) . Making the place a cold and not very desirable place to tent.
We were going to tent, but luckily we were able to move to a cabin room. The owner of the campground was very friendly and helpful.
Clean toilets and warm showers. Note: good kitchen but FYI no cooking pots or pans.
