We chose as on the Rail Trail, arriving the setting was stunning, the House is so interesting and a credit to the Owners who have built it by hand, and decorated with love. Jen was so open and welcoming, she clearly loves people and nothing was a problem, taking care of our every whim. We had drinks and a platter of nibbles in the afternoon, and a lovely Meal to follow. Rooms are spacious, comfy, and tastefully decorated with attention to detail. Thank you Jen for a stay we will always remember and we look forward to coming again.
beyond description how friendly the host are. Seven Canadians stayed and had an excellent supper. There is an excellent view. The place is close to the Harakai (SP) trail. There are no nearby neighbours, so it is very quiet.
House with no Nails is such a beautiful, creatively stylish home with sweeping views of the gorgeous countryside. Decor throughout is impeccable, with modern country comfort feel. Both Jen and Dewi create a feeling of warmth and friendliness as soon as you arrive; and are ready to help plan your exploration of the surrounding area. Bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and ample; and it’s a treat waking up to fresh country air and mooing of cows. Just remember to shut the windows at night as the mosquitoes tend to get in. A home you don’t want to leave
TRAVEL AGENT REVIEW - I recently visited the house with no nails in November and what a lovely hidden gem this really is! Its just fantastic! The house itself has such a homely feel to it, its cosy, stylish, rustic and extremely clean which is all you can ask for a property. The property is set back from the main road, with plenty of parking and as soon as you pull up on the driveway you realise just how wonderful the location is of this B&B. The Kaimai mountains are the back drop of the house and from the main dining room table and the lovely gardens you get the most fantastic views. One thing I think that really makes this property stand out from others is the "host" style you get from the owners, ,Jeni and Dewi. Both such lovely people who are so keen to show of their beautiful home and the area of New Zealand they live in. They have so much passion and Knowledge of the area and offer small group trips to local attractions. They also offer an evening meal option for you, Jen is a great cook and its a great opportunity for them to give you recommendations on the local area. Its about 1hour 45 drive from Auckland so its a perfect first stop on your new Zealand trip! I would recommend staying 3/4 nights here as its such a great location you can day trip to The Coromandel area, Tauranga, Rotorua and also Hobbiton which is on the door step! Its the ideal B&B for a few nights, it really is a must!…
We, 2 families (with 3 kids 9y, 11y and 14y), from Israel and Bora Bora stayed 2 the house with no nails. The house (built by Dewi the owner) is made of wood with a astonishing sky line that views breath taking mountains. The house is clean, very comfortable beds , plenty of room and exositc shower. We enjoyed the rooms very much. The highlight of the house is the kind couple , Jen & Dewi-they did everything to make us happy- Jen planned for us 3 different days trip that we enjoyed very much. On the first day, we had a traditional NZ diner made by Jen -it was excellent. We enjoyed the J & D company very much. We came as guests and left as friends. Thank you Jen and Dewi for a wonderful time😃
