We stayed in Matamata at Tower Road for a night while driving down the the island. Karen was so friendly and accommodating- she left our key under the mat, drew our curtains and kept the lights on after we asked if we could check in late (arriving from the Cathedral Cove area). She said it was not a problem. Our room was impeccably clean, with all the amenities that we needed (hot water pot, cups, soap/shampoo, towels, tea/coffee, cream and sugar). It was about a 25 minute drive to Hobbiton, and a short jaunt in to the sweet town of Matamata. We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful area of New Zealand!

Stayed here for one night with my 2 kids. They had a trampoline in the garden which my kids could play with. I also loved the garden area. The room was comfortable and there was a porch for us to park our car in. Had a good one night rest there.

Accomodation in or near Matamata was required for three adults. This place had all we required. Very handy to the town. Picturesque surroundings (hydrangeas outside the bathroom windows, surrounded by green farrmland), close to many attractions (Matamata or Walton golf courses, Tower Museum, Opal Springs, Hobbiton, Kaimai Cheese Factory, Wairere Falls...) Clean and tidy. Owner even turned on the heater if we were late back in the evening, or put a night light on in the unit. Small details make a difference. Recommended.

Nice and clean. Very comfortable and suited us well. Had everything we needed and owners made us feel very welcome. Check out was nice and easy and we had no issues while staying there. Would stay again.
