Older unuts but very Cosy and clean, the host lady is very sweet & hospitable.
Great location for the cycle trail, the place has a little shed to store the bikes however the room was big enough to put them in. Lovely hot water.

Stayed two nights with kids while visiting family in Ngatea. Comfortable beds and awesome shower. Limited milk and coffee but still cosy and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Awesome kids pack across the road. And only a short walk to town.

+1
Let's start with the good points ...
Room was clean
Bed was comfortable
New carpet
Negative points ...
No hot water, ran the shower for 10minutes, no hot water, had a cold shower! Nasty! The pressure was good but watch out for the shower curtain sticking to ya!
There was no 'new' soap in the shower, we found a used piece of soap with hair stuck to it, gross. Luckily we took our own shower gel.
Nasty longlife milk in the fridge, not very generous with tea/coffee selection.
Curtains didn't go all the way to the top of the windows so orange street light came in all night.
Some areas of this room need a good tidy up ... will post photos.
Price was average, $145 for a family room.

With Paeroa being the ‘antique town of New Zealand’ the motel fits that bill. It is its own antique but don’t let that put you off.
The rooms are spotlessly clean, warm and inviting and very comfortable. They are basic, not what you’d get in an upmarket hotel for example, but it is good value for money and a good taste of proper kiwiana.
To top it off for the kids there is an awesome playground a 30 second walk away. This caters for kids of all ages, even the ‘big’ kids.
My only complaint is not with the hotel but the truck drivers that ignore the ‘no engine brakes’ sign at 3am in the morning.
Would recommend Paeroa motel if you are passing and need a night to get some sleep.

We arrived really late, but we arranged with the manager on how to pick up the key for our room. The room was in pristine condition, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were really nice as well.

This review is based on my stay.
Polite, friendly and professional welcome.
Showed me the room which I found very clean well appointed with that retro touch.
Lovely nice hot shower the motel providing shampoo and hand wash.
The only future improvement suggestion is the fridge needs replacement, as my food stuffs froze solid in the fridge.
Recommend this establishment too all.

Stayed here ( 2 adults and 2 teens) after cycling from Thames on the hauraki trail. Great location from trail. Clean and basic but had all we needed. Staff were very friendly - nice atmosphere. Sat outside to have dinner as very hot evening. Bike shed to look up bikes. 5 min walk to countdown through the park. Bed was very comfortable. Didn't hear any noise despite proximity to SH1 - probably too tired after the cycle ride.
Good value for money and happy to recommend!

We were pleasantly surprised with this motel. This motel was not our preferred choice, but we are really glad to have stayed there, and would stay there again.
The rooms are dated, but this is Antique town New Zealand, so the rooms work well with the town's theme. The staff are really friendly and really helpful.
We had a pleasant stay, but not a completely peaceful stay. The motel is situated along the main highway, and there's no sound proofing. So, we got woken up 5:30 every morning due to the heavy trucks traveling along the highway.
The rooms have no AC and Paeroa as we found out can get very hot in summer (e.g. at least 30 degrees C).
The motel is walking distance from the shops. Directly across the road from the motel is a large playing field and children's playground.

This motel is a simple motel, but offers a really good service. It was clean, the bathroom nice and OK, the room has double bed and 2 x single bed for up to 4 people, simple and basic kitchenette, with a small dining table and four chairs, a bit crowded but still OK, and free WiFi, with affordable rate. Located at the perimeter of town centre next to main road, some people probably concern about the noises from the road, but we have a good decent sleep, not a problem. Friendly services from the manager, and at walking distance to Count Down. Probably the only minor, the bed mattress were a bit to soft and springy, but this is my personal preference of firmer bed mattress.
