The Hotel Costazzurra Museum & Spa is an oasis of Mediterranean hospitality. It’s located near the archaeological park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and is close to the Mediterranean Sea, in one of the most beautiful stretches of the coast. The perfect place to plan a vacation together with the persons you love. The hotel is the first authentic archaeological-hotel in the world and offers its guests the unique opportunity to enjoy in exclusive the archaeological collection "The Gaipa". Food, wine, culture ... we do interpreters of the many Sicily’s pleasures to transform the "Holiday" in "Experience”. A rich a la carte menu based on only fresh Mediterranean fish and seasonal ingredients "zero kilometer", a wine selection including the best labels of Sicilian wines and the passion for the tastes of Sicily. These are the secrets of the restaurant "Il Grecale", pride of our hotel known among the best restaurants on the Island. Together with fish, the Pizza. The Collection "La Gaipa" It’s a collection of archaeological reperts mostly original from the Magna Grecia and dated between the fifth and fourth century BC. These pieces are complemented by others Egyptians, Romans and Byzantines. The collection offers you an overview of the cultures that have alternated in Akragas which was among the most important crossroads of the Mediterranean. The pieces come exclusively from acquisitions made abroad with the intention to actively promote the return to Italy of its archaeological heritage. For the first time they are exposed to the public on a permanent exposition, thus providing a unique opportunity to enrich the stay of travelers with a unique museum experience in situ. Is also possible to stay in a Museum Room where guests can enjoy the private exhibition of some pieces of the collection. This is a perfect hotel for visiting the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento which is only 10 minutes drive away. Rooms are clean, well airconditioned, staff and very caring and friendly and the restaurant on site is good. The Scala dei Turchi is also an easy drive away. It's not really a base for a whole holiday but one that is great when touring Sicily.

We'd recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Agrigento / Valley of the Temples area. Run by two brothers who speak excellent English (as do many staff) and give considerable attention to the detail of what makes for an enjoyable stay. It is quite upscale for the room rates and our family room was spacious, modern and nicely decorated in minimalist style, as all rooms seem to be following a major renovation. It had a good small balcony with a glimpse of the sea from the suburb of San Leone it is located in, about 300m from the beach, though lower rooms might not see the water. Worked well for us with two teenage children who enjoyed the pool area (separate from the hotel but easy to access and really nice) and the shuttle service to the private sandy beach area the hotel can access though for an additional sum to guests. This has superb swimming and a restaurant for a lazy beach lunch. The hotel will organise visits to the amazing Valley of the Temples and other sites though we hired a car so made our own way around. The appealing hilltop city of Agrigento is nearby as is the hard to find but well worth discovering Farm Cultural Park in another hilltop city, Favara. The hotel has its own restaurant much used by non guests, and we thought the food was okay though quite pricey so we mostly ate out for a range of Sicilian eating experiences, which can be wonderful. Breakfasts are good but a guest advised us to ask for a coffee from the kitchen not the machine in the dining room - an invaluable tip. The staff are great and very keen to help with local knowledge and anything you need.

Great and helpful staff that also speaks English. Very neat and clean. They decorated our room with swans made out of towels and rose petals sprinkled around and Proseco. Be mindful if you have any seafood allergies, let them know before hand because they are very accommodating. My girlfriend has a shell fish allergy and although it was a set menu for the dinner, Mario worked hard and adjusted it for her. The spa services were amazing! The Turkish bath was very relaxing, followed by a soothing massage, ending with an awesome exfoliating scrub. Also, they provided us with transportation from the hotel to the Valley of the Temples and back. It was a great stay for Valentine's weekend. I would definitely recommend a nice getaway here.

We stayed here for visiting the Valley of Temples. It's just a few minutes drive distance with a car. Hotel seems also provides shuttle to the site return for a fee of 10 EUR. To the sandy beach just walk five minutes. Hotel has secure and free car parking and a swimming pool. The hotel restaurant also provides delicious local food. Highly recommended. The staff at both reception and restaurant are very friendly and helpful. When we complained about the party noise on the same floor, they immediately changed our room to another floor, a quiet place. THANK YOU!

The hotel room is clean and spacious, but the wall's sound isolation needs to be improved.

My wife and I loved Hotel Costazzurra because it was like spending three nights in paradise. The staff provided first rate services in all respects. Fabio and Ricardo were exceptional in every possible way. They carried our suitcases to our room, arranged for hotel shuttle transfers to the Valley of Temples and to downtown Agrigento, provided us with helpful information regarding the locations of the supermarket, pharmacy, and restaurants. and answered our many questions about Sicily. The room was very comfortable with excellent air conditioning which is a great relief in the Sicilian summer. Dinner at the restaurant was a remarkable outside dining experience featuring delicious Sicilian food and a DJ that played both Italian and English language music including many Frank Sinatra songs. The hotel also offers a complementary breakfast 0700 until 1030 each morning featuring an excellent selection of hot and cold food choices. The swimming pool was wonderful with crystal clear water, plenty of chase lounges, pleasant music that was similar to the restaurant, a waiter to serve food and drink and Italian landscaping that was simply breath taking. The hotel also offers free parking which is a big plus in Sicily. I highly recommend Hotel Costazzurra and we will definitely stay here again should we ever have the good fortune of visiting Sicily again.

Clean hotel Maximum attention and courtesy. Spacious room and spotless spacious shower, perfectly air conditioned, well stocked mini bar. They also provided bathrobes and slippers to be able to go to the beautiful spa, a wonder has the sky of mirrors offers a journey into the magic of attention from everything, but just all the staff, to the care of body and mind in a luxurious but possible, and pleasure for the taste of beauty in every aspect: scents, colors, flavors. Programmed entrance for the whole family with herbal tea tasting included, (we did the Clio path included in the package) includes a large Jacuzzi, a sauna and a Turkish bath with attached massage room and relaxation room. The pool area is spotless with water at the right temperature, a piano bar and numerous deck chairs with playground for children and gazebo. The Grecale restaurant attached to the Hotel is at the top, with all the helpful and kind staff in particular Raimondo and Fabiana who have dedicated their service for almost the whole week to our table. the dishes satisfy all the senses, really excellent cook; An experience to be enjoyed minute by minute, without hurry or particular pressures dinner served until 11 pm. Breakfast with rich buffet ranges from sweet to savory, from fruit to many varieties of cakes and pastries, cold cuts and top cheeses. Swimming pool with truly exceptional heated water. Also great for families thanks to the spaces for children. There is a shuttle to the sea (only 300 meters away), you can go with the hotel towels, it is very close to the Shopping and Nightlife Street and the fabulous Valley of the Temples (shuttle included for this Attraction).

No sea view, no view of the Temples, the structure is immersed in the heart of the town! Excellent reserved parking. It's not a mega resort but the kindness and helpfulness of the staff immediately stand out, as well as the truly excellent cleanliness of every corner, everything is really shiny! Even in the spa everything is truly perfect, both the staff and the structure, even if a little "miniature". The room was shining, unfortunately too small, even difficult to move around, but the small balcony was very useful even if the view was on the surrounding houses! Unfortunately, the swimming pool area is also detached from the hotel, you have to go out and cross the road!!!!!
To reach the seafront you need to go by car or bike (provided free of charge by the Hotel). A further piece of advice, don't choose half board, the menu is limited and not of good quality, even if the great availability of the staff, in particular Raimondo, always makes the difference. You will certainly spend less and eat better in one of the many restaurants along the seafront. The breakfast is decent. If you have a car, then you can visit wonders not far away, such as the Scala dei Turchi, the Temples, and the quiet city of Agrigento itself. What we paid, was definitely not worth what was offered!

Our family had an excellent stay at Hotel Costazzurra in San Leone. We pre-arranged for a driver from the hotel, Salvatore, to collect us from Agrigento Centrale train station. Salvatore is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel is very clean with a laid back beach town vibe. My husband and I stayed in the newer building, and our 4 teenagers stayed in the tower. All rooms are well appointed and comfortable, with excellent showers. The hotel pool area is just awesome. The pool attendant and bartender, Marco, gave us exceptional service, always with a friendly smile. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, and we really enjoyed the delicious pizza, the lovely outdoor seating, and once again, the excellent service. The breakfast was great, too, with your typical assortment of meat, cheese, eggs, yogurts, fruits, and pastries. We were grateful for the free shuttle services to The Valley of the Temples, and to the hotel’s private section of Havana Beach. For $10 per person, we rented chaise lounges and umbrellas at this beautiful beach, which also has a full snack bar and cocktail bar.
A relaxing day well spent! I must mention that Ricardo and Mario (and Mario’s sweet dog Fulvo), also added to our wonderful experience at this welcoming hotel. Don’t miss the rooftop garden with hot tub! Lastly, the hotel manager gifted us with a box of 6 bottles of wine upon our departure, as a thank you for staying with them. Wow, what a great hotel. We will return again to this gem of a place!

I stayed for two nights in a two-room hotel located a short distance from the seafront, reachable with a walk in less than 10 minutes. It has private parking and a swimming pool both on the opposite side of the hotel with the only inconvenience of having to cross the road to access the swimming pool via one of the two external car parks. Quite comfortable and clean rooms, kindness and helpfulness of all the staff especially the owner who, in light of our comments regarding breakfast, was very kind and friendly, an attitude that was really appreciated by all of us. Unfortunately, as I was saying, the breakfast was not up to par and lacking in those culinary delights that are the pride of many facilities in Sicily and for this reason alone I do not feel like giving the highest rating. But what we highlighted and in any case already done on site, was and aims to be a stimulus to present this structure in the future with a better strong point which is a typical Sicilian breakfast surrounded by its excellent products.

We stayed at this hotel on August 31st taking advantage of the Calliope SPA package. Everything went perfectly, the staff was very courteous and helpful to our every need. The SPA has the great advantage of being reserved exclusively for the couple who books it, the international breakfast is plentiful and was very welcome, as was the possibility of using their numerous services (such as the outdoor swimming pools on the ground floor and the jacuzzi on the terrace , or the use of the bicycles, which they make available to the customer), the welcome cocktail was much appreciated and, in general, the organization of the spaces was commendable, which were aesthetically pleasing and functional.
Highly recommended, if we happen to find ourselves in those parts again, we will certainly book here again.

10 minutes walk to the closet beach but it’s not very nice. There is a restaurant with a private beach 5 minutes further but it’s about €10 for a sunbed and umbrella.

Dear Eileen, We had a rental car. Given the distance I think that a taxi from the station to the hotel might be the best option. Perhaps you cancall the hotel and ask?
