This camp is in a beautiful location, sheltered in the prevaling wind, its quite large and was very busy but that's expected at this time of year. The facilities are quite old, they have done up a shower block which is very nice but the coin operated showers were very problematic most days. Its a shame that these upgraded facilities are not being kept clean as evident in the slime buildup around the perimeter of the floors over the week we where there. The kitchen floors also needed attention. I saw cleaning staff once while I was there over 7 days and observered a less than average attempt to clean a toilet cubicle. The staff seem to be a little disinterested in general but especially with cleaning, and given the current covid climate, more could be done here. Don't let this put you off a visit as there is plenty to do around the area and a great bakery and craft shops up the side road to the camp. Just remember some hand gel and wear jandels in the shower.…
This is an amazing location but the facilities are old and very very tired. The bathroom and toilet facilities are a very low standard, however it does appear that some renovation work is underway to one of the toilet blocks. We were camping and after being told that the toilets close to us were open, we discovered (after setting up our tent) that the water was turned off and we had a long long walk to the bathroom in the rain. We were pretty brassed off! We called at the office several times only to find it unattended. The people in RVs with onboard facilities seemed pretty happy.... as mentioned at the beginning, it’s a great location.
Great campsite in a beautiful area. We were at the back of the camp ground (opposite end to the beach) and there was lots of room for the kids to play. Very friendly and relaxed. There was a coffee cart that came every morning which was a bonus. We really enjoyed our stay here.
We were keen to see this part of the coast & called in by chance towards the end of the day 🌅 Just a sign at the office saying owners were busy, help yourself to a spot & enjoy 😊 Set up camp right next to the beach, unpowered spot. Excellent grounds & facilities. Clean kitchen & dining, tv area, toilets 🚽 hot showers 🚿 & BBQ’s. All we needed. Note: you need to push the corresponding button for the shower you use for hot water. I would believe that would read left to right, 1, 2, 3. However, I was in shower one & needed to push number three. Not a great problem, but a small naked dash 🤪
Love this campsite, right on the beach with beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Facilities are good theres lots of storage for food, fridges, freezers which is great if you are camping and the kitchens are well equipped. Great to get a bit further out into Gilden Bay, if you prefer a slower pace this is for you. Try the bakery up the lane and the yoga studio out too.
