Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We stayed here with our family of four (2 teenagers) and just loved our little home for 2 nights. Modern, clean, very well equipped and quite spacious. A full fridge, microwave, small hot plate and dish drawer in the kitchen and a dining table that fits 4 people. The adjoining living area has comfortable sofa space for 3 people. There is a carport with undercover washing line and a BBQ for each unit as well as another communal covered area with additional BBQ’s. A free washing machine and dryer with washing powder supplied.
All set in a well looked after pretty garden setting and a lovely beach in walking distance. You could easily stay here for a longer time. Thank you!

These villas are absolutely delightful and a real find. They are situated rurally on a side road between Takaka and Collingwood and very close to a beautiful beach. The other reviews posted are spot on. Our host was most agreeable too and very accessible although not living on site (will be moving next door shortly). Would thoroughly recommend.

First time to this relaxing area. Great location, was handy to every thing we wanted to do; including a leisurely 5mins walk to a lovely shallow beach. The villas were lovely, modern surrounded by beautiful gardens. Big thank you to Bobby and Julia who looked after us. Can't wait to come back and stay again.

Really wonderful accommodation. Terrific walk-in tiled shower. Tranquil and beautiful inside and out. Everything you need is provided, good size fridge, air conditioning, gas bbq, kingsize bed. This is the place to get your mojo back, kickback relax and soak in the beauty of the beaches.
Night sky is worth enjoying too, we watched loads of the Elon Musk satellites fly past in a perfect line. And don't forget to take a look at the eels under the bridge. This place is really great make sure you book at least a few days to really make the most of everything on offer here.

Lovely surroundings, short walk to the beach, great standard of accommodation - we really loved our 3 nights here and would love to return as we didn't get to do all we wanted to. Pupu Springs, Wainui Falls, grove walk, Farewell Spit tour all highlights. Enjoyed the Wholemeal cafe in Takaka - several times!

Immaculately clean, beautiful restful views, well equipped, very comfortable bed, and the owner was friendly and helpful. All this and just a short walk to the beach. couldn't wish for anything more. Came home wonderfully relaxed, and have already booked our next weekend escape there.

This is a quality Golden Bay accommodation located away from the main town centre nearby a long, secluded beach. There are only 4 units, no traffic and very well appointed. We stayed two nights in Unit 2, with good sized bedrooms, storage and facilities. Very clean and comfortable. Only 5 minutes away is a little gem: The Mussel Inn. A great pub with great food (no deep fryer!!) and their own beers and cider. The Villas are about half way betwwen Collingwood and Takaka. Takaka is a beautiful little town with flower baskets abounding! Collingwood is the starting spot for trips out to Farewell Spit, well worth a trip.

Great location, a few hundred feet from the quiet beach. Set in a pastoral setting letting us watch from our living room/kitchen the wekas and other birds run on the grass.

The units were plush on the inside with a well equipped kitchen and even had shaded parking next to the door making getting into the car in the afternoon a pleasure. Good shower and comfortable beds.

Near all the adventures of Golden Bay and Tasman park, but also 15 minutes from a very good supermarket and restaurants in Takaka.

Jo-Anna, the person tending the units, could not have been nicer.

Many thanks for taking the time to review. It was such a pleasure to meet you both and I enjoyed hearing your plans of discovering Golden Bay and all it has to offer. The villas offer a comfortable base from which to explore, ideally situated in the middle of the bay, it makes exploring the district time effective. I wish you both well for future travels. Kind regards Jo-Anna

The most delightful place we have stayed in! The huge apartment (Bungalow!) was spotless, well equipped and well furnished! The gardens were beautiful and we spent many an hour watching the birds chasing each other around! It was so peaceful there. It had free laundry facilities and a gas bbq for our sole use. It was just two minutes walk from a practically deserted beach! We definitely did not want to leave and we will certainly be back!

We stayed here when the villas first opened around about 12 years ago so it was good to go back and see how it was. It was cold outside but when we got to our villa with our friend Judy it was warm and cosy inside. These villas are super in their location and interiors are well maintained. Just 1 night this time but we will be back with relatives who have not visited the beautiful Golden Bay area before and we will stay longer.

Hi Bruce, Sue and Judy, many thanks for taking the time to review. The villas are warm and cosy in the winter, with insulation, electric blankets and a great wall heater that fills the needs for warmth. I look forward to seeing you again with the relatives and if I can help in anyway as to activities in the Bay please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards Jo-Anna
