My partner and I stayed here for 7 nights at the beginning of May 2024. We had the platinum upgrade and this is absolutely worth the extra cost for those travelling without children, the platinum area had such a nice feel to it and it was definitely appreciated to have a pool to use that didn't have kids shouting and splashing around in. The location of the hotel is really good, it's so close to the beach and has great sea views, it's a bit out of the way from the main tourist areas and in a smallish town so getting to most places requires a bus trip if you haven't rented a car, but it's on a well connected bus route and some of the main attractions will pick you up from outside the hotel. The food was good and the menu changed up each day, more vegetarian options would be welcome, but we did find out a few days into our stay that they have a set vegan menu you can order from in the buffet restaurant. The other Landmar hotel at Costa Los Gigantes is only a 15 minute walk away and we were able to use the spa there (having booked at reception) which we pretty much had to ourselves for 2.5 hours, particularly enjoyed the floatation pool there. The rooms at Landmar Playa La Arena have everything you could need in them but the decor is a little dated, staff were really good at keeping them clean during the stay though. We found the staff in general to be incredibly friendly and helpful, we had particularly great experiences with Roberto on reception and Ever from the bar staff, he was a great host for the Platinum by Night event on 07/05. Overall we had a great time staying here and will definitely look to come back in future

Welcome at the hotel was very friendly. It was well maintained and very clean. Rooms were good, but I did find the beds hard and uncomfortable for me. I initially couldn't get connected to Wi-Fi in the room and had to step out on to the balcony to do so, it connected well after that. The pool areas were very well kept tidy with plenty if loungers. The pool areas were opened at 9am and 10am, which I liked as it stopped people putting towels on loungers and disappearing for the day. The pool snack bar was good and quick to eat at with a different special choice daily. The Lava buffet restaurant was always clean and tidy with good choice, only complaint would be the congestion at the main meat/fish counter. But Damian and his staff were always welcoming and polite, thankyou. We tried both A la Carte restaurants too and were treated to very good meals in a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were clean and well maintained, my only personal issue was the beds were hard and a little uncomfortable. Our daily walks outside, along the prom in to Los Gigantes was refreshing but hilly and may not suit those with mobility issues, but plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Check-out was fast and friendly.
All in all I would recommend Landmar Playa la Arena, as it was well kept, well run with polite and friendly staff

We’re glad you appreciated the dining experience in both the snack bar and à la carte restaurants, as well as the efforts of Damian and his team, who strive to create a welcoming atmosphere. This was our first visit to this hotel so we did not really know what to expect other than what we had read on this website. I can honestly say we were not disappointed! We were checked in by Roberto who assigned us a room on level 5 from where we had an exceptional view out to sea, so thank you, Roberto! The room had all we needed: a fridge, tea, coffee, free water down the corridor and it was cleaned with a change of bedding and towels daily. The hotel is impressive and maintained to a very high standard. Now for the exceptional bit! It was my wife’s birthday during our stay and the hotel had picked up on this from her passport when checking in. On the day, there was a knock on the door with a complimentary bottle of sparkling rosé and a couple of glasses. This does not happen in all hotels I can assure you. Now, there was one member of the team, who for us, went above and beyond and that was Damian. Firstly, what a thoroughly nice guy. On our first evening we happened to stop him to ask a question about the layout of the pools and bars and he stopped what he was doing to show us around the pools and bars explaining as we went the offerings from each. He also did a forty minute cabaret act on a Friday night. As a result of this, I asked him if he would serenade my wife singing happy birthday in Espanol (as a surprise) whilst we were having dinner which he and one of his colleagues duly obliged to great pleasure and shock to my wife! There was always a super selection on offer at mealtimes and we enjoyed everything we ate. We will certainly aim to return in the future.

Last week my partner and I went to enjoy our vacation at this Resort and honestly, from my point of view, it leaves a lot to be desired. To start at reception, the man who helped us was not having a good day or so I assume, but well I will go to the most basic, I don't know why it is all inclusive when they even charge you for the safe in your own room (€5 per day) plus they also charge you if you want to park in the parking lot (€8 per day). I WAS quite ANNOYED that we were told that the SPA was not included, which by the way is located in another hotel about 100 meters away. We booked two massages (Carolina was my masseuse and I recommend her, she has spectacular hands) and the treatment there was unbeatable. The rooms have become obsolete, with old decoration, beds in which springs sound as if it were an orchestra, and a lack of basic utensils such as a toothbrush or toothpaste. In the bathroom you will find only towels and a gel/shampoo. Not everything in the room is negative, if you book with sea views you will enjoy very good views. The cleaning was very good the first three days, the fourth was cleaned thoroughly and without changing the sheets (put back with stains) and leaving the room tidy. The food at the buffet is very good, varied dishes, fresh fruit, a good menu. The only drawback I can make is the schedules that are more focused on foreigners. The pools are clean and have a good atmosphere. Acceptable gym Little fun for young couples.

We have just come back from a week stay at Landmar
I work in a primary school & this was our first holiday without our own children so we chose to pay extra and go platinum. In our opinion it was definitely worth it.
Check in (& out) was slick and quick
The rooms are standard hotel rooms but have shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, hair brush/dryer, toothbrushes and a mini bar on arrival which is not replenished during the stay. You’ll get 2 Pepsi, 2 fruit juice, 2 lager and a small bottle of fizz. Once it’s gone, it’s gone and they have a rule that no one can take drinks back to the room, although we saw plenty doing just that.
The bathroom had a shower over the bath and a separate shower cubicle. We had a lovely view of the pool area and the sea.
Rooms cleaned daily and were of good repair with working air con. I read the beds were soft which concerned me as I need a firm bed, our bed was perfect, very comfortable.
Our only real gripe was our safe, it was a pain at times and worked intermittently. We couldn’t get it open one evening so after trying to call but getting no answer hubby went to the desk but apparently they couldn’t do anything till the next morning. The battery had expired and was sorted the next day. If yours shows a red light then the battery is on its way out.
The A La Carte restaurants are excellent, the ‘rules’ state men to wear long trousers which hubby did the first night, but he was the only one so after that he wore smart shorts.
The buffet restaurant is the usual all inclusive food with some specially cooked food thrown in. As platinum guests we had the same food as everyone just a quiet seating area. Breakfast did offer a different menu of waffles, crepes, fruit juice and shakes as well as the main buffet restaurant.
The platinum pool was a gorgeous infinity pool with a spectacular view, towels and a good area (The View-for obvious reasons) which served cold buffet/breakfast food including caviar! Champagne, beer, soft drinks and any spirit you could wish for. This is open 9am to 8pm. The sunbeds have no arms on them so easy to climb on & off & the backs are easy to adjust.
There’s a vip lounge by the ‘Hello Bar’ which is accessible only by using your room key. It’s open until midnight and again offers all the spirits, wine, beer and soft drinks you might want.
We definitely recommend this hotel even if you don’t go platinum.

We took the platinum plus package. The room was a suite and the view was exceptional from both sides - with the sea on one side, and mountain/hills on the other. The room was well furnished and we had a tower speaker for Bluetooth connected sound in the room. Comfortable bed too.
The reception staff were exceptional, rooms and hotel very clean, and overall the service very friendly. This is a large spacious hotel, so it does not feel too busy even when full. There is entertainment for the senior people on the 3rd floor with gentle live music in addition to the regular karaoke, cabaret, dancing and band acts such as Queen, for the younger and middle aged.
We found the food is better than many all inclusive hotels, but it does get samey after a few days. We were only there for 4 nights, of which two were in the speciality restaurants. Drinks are plentiful with self serving water, beer, soft drinks, plenty of alcohol, great beach towels too. All in all, it met the reviews I had read about the hotel before we went.
The only thing is to manage expectations re premium spirits on the platinum package - there was Cava, Bombay Sapphire etc. but on the whiskey front Premium was John Dewar, and normal was Johnny Walker red label. However the whole platinum club was well done, with an infinity pool, separate poolside cafe/bar with really good snacks including caviar, and pre-cut fruit. Really lovely and a bit exclusive.

I just got back from a 4 night last minute solo trip to Landmar Playa La Arena and i can honestly say its the best hotel iv ever stayed in, so great in fact I'm already looking at booking here again, could very easily be a 5 star hotel.
This was my first solo trip and I'm so glad i stayed here, i felt safe and welcomed by all the staff. I do need to give a special shout out to the animation team, they were so welcoming and energetic and were respectful of people not wanting to join in with pool activities also the bartenders/restaurant staff were especially lovely (i never caught your name but to the bartender that helped me practice my terrible Spanish, thank you)
The room was nice and clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice. There is a safe available in the room for an extra charge but it wasn't expensive at all (i think about €12 for 4 nights). Late check out was also available for an extra charge which i opted not to use as there is a luggage room in the lobby and i could still use the pool etc after check out before my transfer so it wasn't necessary.
The food was amazing! there was so much choice, my favourite being the pasta station where they make it in front of you so its fresh and hot. Nothing i ate was ever cold and there was plenty of staff replenishing the food so nothing went bad. i loved the drinks service at lunch and dinner, never had that before at an all inclusive. the frozen cocktails were great, the measures of spirits (or lack there of) was top notch also plenty of soft drink options as well including slushes for the kids.
The pools were also great (theres a theme here if you cant tell) never once struggled for a sun lounger and I'm aware i went at a less busier time of year but honestly the amount of sun loungers around i don't think you would struggle even at peak travel time as you aren't allowed to reserve them anyway so no 8am pool rush or anything. Pool towels are available to rent with a refundable deposit.
The evening entertainment was amazing, i loved that there was the option of "the show" or the live music on the terrace upstairs if you didn't fancy the main entertainment.
And for anyone wondering this hotel is unbelievably accessible despite many floors and stairs there are lifts, ramps and disabled toilets everywhere, i cant speak for room accessibly as i didn't have an access room but going off the main hotel area i think it would be okay.
Overall an amazing hotel and i can not wait to book to come back in June 2025.

Stayed here for 7 nights with grown up children mid December 2023. There are many things that I would commend the hotel on. 1. Hotel is immaculately clean … there is clearly a very substantial cleaning schedule that is adhered to 2. Food in the main restaurant was delicious with lots of choice… we preferred the buffet restaurant to the al a carte (I’ll come back to that). 3. Location of the hotel is in a great position … a short walk away from a lovely black sand beach, close to shops and bars with no one hassling you to buy fake gear or book excursions. 4. Hotel could book excursions direct for you. 5. Reasonable choice of alcoholic drinks on all inclusive 6. Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful 7. Good range of activities to get engaged with if you want (decent minigolf course) 8. Definitely treat yourself to a barraquito (€4 each) from the lobby bar … they are divine!
We stayed in room 660 which had a great view over the pool area and out to the sea. Initially we were allocated a ‘superior’ room which overlooked the side street (435 I think) - following a conversation with the reception staff we were moved but at extra cost.
The al a carte wasn’t really an al a carte - just a fixed menu. We were booked on the last sitting for the night and to be honest it felt like we were being rushed. Each course was served immediately after the one before and clean up started before we finished dessert. A little bit of music may also have helped to create a bit of ambience.
So what would make this 5 stars?? Not having the lobby lights turned off when the bar closed at approx midnight- it felt like an enforced bedtime which was also reinforced by the on site security guard. Given that the hotel are aiming to move to a more adult centred atmosphere … they may want to rethink the nighttime curfew! lol

This hotel is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Our room: I paid for a delux balcony sea view this room was great the view from our balcony was amazing! We could see the hilly mountains and beautiful sea as far as the eye can see. We also had a couch and tv in our room the couch wasn’t the most comfortable. Our bed were two singles pushed together which usually doesn’t bother me however they were on wheels we constantly had to push our beds together and you can’t sit up in bed because it would just roll away from the wall. Despite this our room was lovely and the bathroom had a bath shower and a cubical shower, lovely big sink and mirror and the toilet was clean. We couldn’t get the safe to work however we felt comfortable leaving our passports in the room. We also tipped the cleaners if we were in our room while they cleaned it just felt polite.
The food: Breakfast was great you can choose from pancakes, churros, a full breakfast or picky bits like croissants with jam and butter. There is also fresh juice an coffee mashines. This is all self serve.
Lunch: We did not have many lunches in the main dining area as the snack bar was great. The snack bar: they offered hot dogs, chicken nuggets and chips, plus a few other tastey treats and fruit.
Dinner: We didn’t mind the dinner at the hotel there was always pizza, pasta and a type of meat for that day. They don’t do themed nights which is a shame as the same foods did get boring however all the food is nice.
The hotel it’s self is always kept clean if you are up early enough you can see the cleaners wiping down the couches in the reception area and some cleaning the floor also.
The pools are great the animation team have always got different activities planned or if you just want to relax they have another pool behind that one.
The platinum upgrade: If you do not have the platinum upgrade watch out for where you sit as you will be told to move if you are in the platinum area.
They also have other perks for the platinum upgrade people such as an infinity pool and private bar where you can help yourself to drinks.
We didn’t enquire about the upgrade but we did hear someone say it was about £150 per person and I’m not sure for how long that was.
Evening entertainment: This seemed great we went once but it’s very busy and there isn’t enough seats for everyone to sit so get there early. They had a rock night and a queen night from what we saw of it.
Overall this hotel was amazing we really enjoyed our self and it was very comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome.

This was our second visit to this hotel. Pros - Aircon, comfy beds, very clean, close to beach, slushies, cocktail slushies, friendly staff, quiet location, pool bar, great view Cons - food variety, food was always luke warm, not enough for choices for children, they removed the children's pool and slide, evening entertainment didn't start until 9:30pm, transfer took 3 hours to loro parque, rooms not soundproof, not enough sunbeds
I feel like they are trying to turn the hotel into adults only. Late check out is €30pp Pool towel hire €10 per towel (deposit)
