A very nice place whose originality lies in its configuration of three stylish buildings surrounding a heated swimming pool and several outdoor lounges (covered or not) where you feel relaxed and cocooned to have a drink or simply stroll. Everything is installed in a vast park surrounded by walls, protecting customers from a fairly urban environment (but invisible from the park, and ultimately quite calm). Very spacious parking lot. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant (outside in summer) is welcoming, the traditional menu was original and tasty, the advice from the owner (from father to son in charge of the place) for wine is very judicious and does not encourage you to choose the most expensive bottles. Very successful family stay!

Long overdue for stopover on our regular Trips South, but without finding room, we can finally try this Pension.
Reservation made over the internet passed without any problems and was perfectly recorded.
The welcome is friendly, very friendly and the driving in room casual and professional.
The Inn is composed of several old buildings, so the rooms are too but they are large, very well equipped and their slightly outdated charm pleased us a lot. A particular point for the excellent bedding.
This Pension is in a very quiet location there is practically no traffic noise.
Character establishment that we recommend and hope to visit again soon.

We only stayed for one night but the beds were the best of our whole roundtrip. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the pool and the garden. Staff was very helpful with finding a restaurant, as due to an event we could not have dinner in the Chateau. Charging the electric car was also possible. Breakfast was good. We consider coming back.

Restaurant was fully booked so we opted to have food off the snack menu - don't waste your money, consisted of heated up jars of food put onto a tray, no spoon for soup and the order was incorrect in any case. We were not offered any place to sit to eat inside, so ate on the outside table. Hotel was hosting a business group so maybe this was why no room in restaurant? Disappointing.

Pool was lovely apart from a large amount of gravel on the bottom where people had entered & exited the pool so watch your feet ( loose tarmac on pool side).

Gym was in a small room - needed a tidy up & clean. I didn't use it.

Sauna facilities are very nice and free - I was in there alone at 3.30 pm when a male member of staff came in when I was sat in the sauna room, maybe he was looking to clean the rooms? He did not appear to wear a uniform, did not identify himself. While waiting for lift back to room, I saw the same male with cleaning equipment, no uniform or ID badge. The point I am trying to make is that I had felt a little vulnerable in the Spa.

TV remote did not work.

Pool chairs needed a clean and were not tidied up at end of day.

We had travelled over 300 miles from South France so were pretty tired, so did not want to complain. Ok for an overnight stop but maybe lacks attention to detail.

We had originally booked this hotel for four nights (after a long journey across France) as it looks quite nice in photographs we had seen of it. Sadly, when we actually got there we decided it was so poor that we only stayed one night and that was only because we were so tired after the journey. Apparently, we were given the best room in the hotel although I find this hard to believe as the room was tired, smelly, dated and frankly grubby, as were the corridors. The carpet was stained, there was a huge, old cobweb behind the bathroom door and paintwork was badly chipped on cupboards (see photos). On mentioning to the manager that I wasn't keen on our room, I was shown another one but it smelled even worse than the first and was dark and gloomy. We reluctantly stayed the night as we were exhausted and left very early the next morning without even having the complimentary breakfast. Frankly, I couldn't wait to get out of the place. It was one of the most depressing hotels I have every had to stay in.

Response from Louise De Bacco, Service clients/Réception at Château de la Commanderie
Responded 23 Oct 2020
Dear Jacky, You don't say that the reason you didn't stay is because you didn't want to wear a mask inside the buildings to go for the restaurant or the breakfast. We told you that this is the law, and in France, you have to to do with it, and if you don't want, you can leave, and we will not charge you any fees ( which was our right ). You were not happy, and I knew that you will revenge on internet. But I didn't want to accept your blackmail and endanger the health safety of my other clients Of course the room is not new, and it is easy to make a focus on little things ( knowing that you are used to go to Monaco in palace hotels ). I still hope, for your health, that you have not been infected by the virus Marc de Beaumont .

It's the third (and last...) time we have been at this location (3 persons, 2 rooms). This time the stay was disappointing. The checkin was not very friendly and confused the rooms - one of the rooms was a dark hole and and had a musty smell (room #20) - a disgrace. The other room was so far ok (#18). Both rooms have been quite dirty, especially the bathroom. Between the tiles it was full of back stains (mold). We didn't feel comfortable. We will not stay there anymore

I had booked for a trip where we were passing through Grenoble, I took a Tradition evening, we had a beautiful, large room with a terrace near the swimming pool. Good dinner in the restaurant. The location, very close to Grenoble, does not prevent you from being peaceful in a pretty park.

We have returned as a family, using the hotel as a convenient base for various trips into parts of the alps close by. This was a short 2 night stay when the weather was really hot.

The hotel is very convenient for the motorway but also surprisingly quiet and tranquil with nice gardens and a small but perfectly lovely pool. The main chateau is really lovely and beautifully restored public areas including the bar, lounge and restaurant. In the hot weather we used the outside restaurant in the evening, which served really excellent food. Obviously a popular restaurant with locals so booking is a good idea.

Our rooms were in an adjacent building which I would politely called "tatty chic", clean and spacious, but in need of some TLC and probably an entire re-fit in the not to distant future. Having said that, they had great a/c and a good view across the courtyard. The rooms didn't quite meet the expectation set by the rest of the hotel, nevertheless, it was a greta base and one we would return to.

We discovered a haven of peace and serenity just 15 minutes from the center of Grenoble. A timeless break that recharged our batteries. It all starts with the welcoming, smiling and warm. Our room was spacious, comfortable, with a balcony with a view of the castle and the Vercors in the background. The spa was calming, clean and bright. What can I say about the restaurant? We enjoyed delicious food, original recipes, quality products, impeccable presentations, attentive service and good advice. We were very touched by the attention given to us and the sincerity of the exchanges we had. Beyond staying in a place full of history and charm, located in a green setting where calm reigns, this feeling of being pampered was exceptional. We would like to thank the whole team, and we can't wait to come back!

Malheureusement, non. Le SPA est interdit au public (le décret n°2021-152 du 12 février 2021). Par contre, nous pouvons proposer des massages (mais sans accès à l'espace détente, ni au bassin).
