Detailed Reviews
Nice service-minded staff, good food in a quiet restaurant and a great place to sit in the garden. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but comfortable and for a reasonable price. I would come again to this small hotel.

Stayed several nights while transiting between flights elsewhere. An oasis of calm in the chaos of Nepalgunj. Well-managed, fairly priced and with everything one would need for a short or long stay. Many thanks to the kind and attentive staff!

Our office frequently has visitors to Nepalgunj and as a destination Nepalgunj could potentially not be the best (as opposed to passing through). Luckily we know there is Travelers waiting for us- this is my second trip. Comfortable and clean rooms, a very dedicated staff, air con when it is hot and fresh salads! Breakfast is a treat and everyone goes way out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. Definitely the place to stay.

This used to be a place of preference to stay, but it has deteriorated drastically. Firstly it was hard to get in touch to make a booking, many unanswered phone calls and e mails. The rooms are VERY dated, mouldy smelling old carpet, the toilet didn’t flash, A/C didn’t work, no hot water on arrival. Reception switched the hot water on for us on request and the result was brown water and banging pipes. Sad to see how maintenance has not been attended to lately. Seems new owners have not invested in upkeep.
The setting, green and quiet is still a plus of this place and the food/kitchen will take a while, but food is still of high quality. The very friendly staff tried their best, but we checked out after 2 nights and moved to another hotel.

What can one say. Our group has been staying with Candy and her team on a regular basis for many years. The place is unique in every way and is an oasis from the dust, traffic and life of Nepalgunj. The food is tasty and plentiful. The staff are polite, efficient and helpful.

What an oasis in sea of chaos. Thank you Candy and staff for firstly helping me to change my Budda Air flight, and secondly making me feel so at home. Insisting that I relax in the garden rather than the airport. I am happy and safely back in South Africa with my family. Best of luck for the future

I styed here twice. Rooms are clean and basic with very hard beds. The bathrooms are tired but the water very hot. Some rooms have really small TVs. Food is old fashioned American, well cooked and in quite large portions. Breakfast is reasonable. The wifi was off for most of my second stay and the power very erratic.

Good sized, very clean rooms - a bit musty, but nothing too terrible. A/C and hot water all working. Efficient service headed by the indomitable Candy. Amazingly good western kitchen, great food, huge portions. Lovely garden space to chill out. Popular with expats and international aid workers. Not at all popular with casino players from over the border – so no late night disturbances!

This fourth time we arrivied in Candy's place - as we prefere to call the best and most comfortable place in the otherwise hot and not so clean Nepalgunj - it was in the late morning and we came from five days waiting fpr the plane in Simikot. We, all 8 of us, were tired, hungry and anxious to leave for the waiting plane in Delhi as fast as possible. Candy offered a superb brunch, let us use a room for showers and rest for the stomachsick ones and arranged two comfortable taxis to take us down to the trainconnection in Lucknow. This time we hadn't the time to enjoy the comfortable rooms, so much of the tasty food and the drinkable water or the shady garden, but whenever in Nepalgunj again it will be Candy's Traveller's Village.

Big thank you to Candy and all her dedicated staff, we travelled for a wedding in Nepalgunj and a group of us stayed here, the layout and the lovely surroundings made it easy for us to form a fun community, great breakfasts ( love the Mango Lassie ) fantastic home made food and the cakes amazing. Clean, comfy beds, hot water and air conditioning made our stay a very comfortable one.
