Detailed Reviews
What an incredibly beautiful area. The waterfall is pretty, but the walk is even better. A reasonable level of fitness required as there is quite a lot of hill walking involved. Take plenty of water and enjoy the views. If you're lucky the caravan with the best real fruit ice-creams awaits you upon your return to the carpark.

We have been up staying with Auckland family for Xmas and headed east into the Hunua Ranges for a lovely one hour loop walk that was also dog on lead friendly.
Very beautiful native bush setting with a variety of birds singing an also amazing history of important Auckland drinking water infrastructure and engineering mastery - such as a non-stop 5.5 day concrete pour.
You wouldn't have known you were a short drive from a major city! Plus huge $5 bags of organic avocados from honesty box stalls on the way too. Highly recommended!

Felt like an intruder in their home.
Inside the house a camera is recording you and your voice is being listened to. When we queried this the owner confirmed it and stated as she had a sign on the entrance gate saying. CCTV 24 hr Video Surveillance this
gives her the right to film and record conversations in the house.
Check out is 9AM and if you are late there is a $20 late fee
The owner would be better suited looking after her horses than running a B+B
