I entered kanpur , its not suburb was expecting ok kinda hotel.I enter and was surprised to see a good lawn and nice plantation. Rooms are good and room service is also alright. Its different from typical hotel as its part of an house converted into hotel. The safe bet is if you do not like it shares a wall with another hotel -The Little Chef , which was our backup plan and can yours be too. Latter being a more pricey but very good,we had our dinner there.

Attic hotel is located near civil lines in Kanpur. This is an old colonial property converted to hotel. The front gardens gives it a resort like appearance . The rooms are much bigger then the conventional hotels , the bathroom is also very large space, however it seems the rooms need overhauling and renovation . The rooms need to be cleaner . The TV is also an old model ( in the world of LCD ). However the positive part is the extremely polite staff . The food is also prepared on order basis . If you are looking for a place with peace of mind then Attic could be your choice .
I would again request the management to renovate the rooms and the hotel will be among the top Kanpur hotels.

The title justifies all. Very well spoken & courteous staff.. All in all a very good experience. If ur preference is a smell free rooms & toilets then this is for u.. Located in civil lines which is a very quiet & clean area.

4 of us stayed at the Attic at the beginning of November 2011. On arrival the gardens and outside of the hotel made it appear very pleasant. We were given the 'cottage' at the back of the hotel, 3 ensuite roms and a living/dining space, which sounds much grander than it was. The place was less then clean, the furniture mis-matched and very poor, matresses on the beds extremely thin. Dubious air conditioning and electrical wiring. The hot water in one bathroom didn't work, but was repaired the same evening. In the morning the water was hot in the second bathroom but refused to come out of the shower.
Food was cooked in the house kitchen and served in the cottage this was surprisingly tasty. We had tea in the garden and made use of the free internet, again very good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel found us a car and driver to take us round the Kanpur area, he turned out to be brilliant.
On leaving the manager was very vague in calculating our bill and we found we were being charged for lunch we never had, but sorted out without any real problem.
There are other rooms in the hotel but can't say wat these would be like.
We know Kanpur is off the tourist trail and were not unrealistic in our expectations. A real shame because with just a little money spent on improvements and cleaning this could be a real haven in a good location.

Located in an old bangalow, the hotel is 'guest house' type and lacks usual professional attitude. However staff is courteous and gives home-feeling. Suits to my nature, as we were on a private visit to the city.

The Hotel location and ambiance is very very good. An old colonial property, it has large rooms. The rooms however badly needs renovation and so does the bathroom. AC vent was smelly which they tried to cover up by liberal use of room freshener.

This hotel is basically a portion of heritage house converted into a hotel. Right from the time you enter the premises, you get the feeling of indifference and this reflects in attitude of staff and maintenance of rooms. Rooms are poorly maintained and washrooms are even worse. They don't have any room service but breakfast is served in the room.

This is a really nice property to stay in . The rooms are big because this hotel is really old and bathroom is well maintained. They also have a beautiful garden and a cafe/restaurant which is really nice . It's a heritage property experience .

I got booking to this hotel for a office trip through the internet and found that it was a heritage hotel. my check in time (around 9 pm) was intimated at the time of room booking and I was not told that when I did check in, there would be no provisions for dinner at the hotel. the staff were rather out of sorts trying to give me a room that had both the AC and the TV working.plus, they wanted the breakfast order but asked me to limit it to cornflakes and/or toast. I loved the location of the hotel, in the bye lanes that did not have too much traffic and bang in the middle of everywhere else one might be keen to head out to: local attraction, markets etc. I loved the green cover around the hotel and the quaint setting, the architecture, just that the management need to get its staff to be more professional.if it gets there, this place would definitely be popular and I would not mind heading back again.

Loved stayed here. Bit costly. but really very green and nice place. Break fast is hygienic and nice.. we stayed nearly 3 days and enjoyed a lot with kids.. center to all places.. clean rooms and bathroom.
