A lovely, well kept establishment, with extremely friendly staff (including the dog!). The small cabins have Finnish names of the Snow White's seven dwarfs - funny. Only one minor disappointment: you have to walk a couple of hundred meters to reach the lake Puruvesi (clean waters!) - I guess we had imagined you'd only need to open the door of the cabin... Definitely a good choice, reasonably priced, a very decent breakfast.

Beautiful Finnish landscape, worderful sauna, nice hosts, good breakfast, clean and comfortable. What else you need :) You can choose what service you need and pay: breakfast, bedding, food, level of accomodation

We decided to get away for one night from Savonlinna, a busy summer destination in eastern Finland, and chose Korkeatupa mainly because of the low price. We stayed in one of the small cabins, which are basic but nice and clean. It was a good idea to buy some food and drinks in the nearby centre of Kerimäki and cook dinner in the shared kitchen of the guesthouse. We also rented the sauna, which is located by lake Puruvesi. Nice! There isn't much else to do in the evening at Korkeatupa, so we had an early night and got up early for breakfast. The breakfast is really good, and you'll probably have a chance to chat with the friendly couple who run the place. There are several sights nearby worth visiting: Kerimäki church, the medieval Olavinlinna castle, and Punkaharju ridge with the Lusto forest museum. This area of Finland is really beautiful with all the lakes and countryside. In July, Savonlinna hosts a big opera festival (held in the castle) that draws people from all around Finland and abroad.
