I went to Crusoe's Retreat after staying at an island of Coral Coast, so we had to take a short bus ride and then a taxi to get there. The resort is located at the end of a long and winding road. When we finally got to the top of the hill prior to descending to the reception area - I was impressed by the view of the ocean. All rooms have an amazing view, unfortunately they all require a lot of walking to get to. Except for a few fairly close to the main building. This is not a deterrent for me - however, those who don't like a lot of steps should take it into consideration. The views are spectacular and the sunsets are not blocked off by anything for the higher level rooms. My seaview bure was quite roomy, had a comfortable bed, was very clean, had louvered windows, a ceiling fan, was well lit, had a deck and a spacious bathroom with quick and plentiful hot water. Also a roomy little fridge and tea and coffee making supplies. Breakfast was included - it was cereals, toast, fresh baking, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. I could also have ordered breakfast off the menu but was satisfied with the one provided. The meal plan is available - but it was recommended to me to forego it and to just order off the menu at meal time. As it turns out - I ate very well and paid less than if I had taken the meal plan. The prices are a bit higher than usual Fijian restaurants, the portions are very large and they are well prepared. The menu has a fair variety and there is a fully stocked bar. I enjoyed every meal I had there, the fish was particularly good. One can also eat or have a drink at the beach bar building, which is over the ocean. There is a unique pool, a hot tub and a very big ocean. Depending on the tide, one can walk for miles down the beach. Massages are available in a building down by the beach. Sunset cruises are available, there is snorkelling trips available and they will arrange fishing trips. During dinner and in the evening, we had entertainment which was mainly music and singing, quite enjoyable. There is a small village next door to the resort and visitors are welcome to visit. All of the staff are outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable. When I left - all the staff in the main building left whatever they were doing and came to sing me a farewell song. All in all, I was quite happy and would return to Crusoe's. …

We stayed here for two nights in the beachfront bures. I travelled with my husband and daughter. The staff were great, friendly and very welcoming. It is def a great place to get away from it all however there are a few things to improve on. While the beds were comfy, the rooms could use a major uplift. The restaurant was only open for service 3 times daily and you couldnt order anything in between. The food did not blow me away while the cocktails were fantastic. Will def recommend the crusoes castaway. Rooms were serviced on time eveyday however i did notice that house keeping staff did not have trolleys that would make their work easier instead of carrying the cleaning supplies, fresh towels amongst other things in baskets. The beach area was great and had lots to offer for my little one. We saw a number of different sea life incuding a morray eel, sea snake and jelly fishes, which now when i think about it doesnt sound all that safe but was a great teaching and learning opportunity for my daughter and I. While our first time did not impress me in terms of food, I will say this...if you want to get away from it all and just chill then this maybe one of those places you want to check out.…

My stay at Crusoe's Retreat was everything I expected. I was not disappointed in any way. The staff were kind, gracious, happy and a reflection of their Fijian Lifestyle. If you want an experience of true island life , this is the place to go. Relax and drop into deeper relaxation, every day. Multiple activities every day, language, history, crafting, tours etc... Meals - plentiful - delicious and healthy - delicious fresh fruits, fish, and local cuisine - well stocked bar by the beach We had brought snacks because other reviews said to bring snacks since location is remote, but we did not need our snacks. In fact alcohol and food in the bures is discouraged so as not to attract pests. Our bure was bug and pest free - very clean The remoteness of this location only emphasized the feeling of a retreat and getting away from it all. A big thank-you to all the staff …

A group of nine of us visited in September 2023, spread across 3 bures. Overall we had a great experience and thoroughly recommend it. Highlights: - Super friendly staff, including singing and playing to us on arriving and leaving. - So many activities and a real effort to be inclusive and have so much fun - Amazing pristine beach outside the Village - Incredible view from high level bures - Gorgeous clear water - Great pool (though a bit dirty one day) with an amazing hot spa adjacent (sounds weird but is AMAZING) - Kayaking - Snorkelling- although not the best in Fiji but definitely worth doing several times as there are plenty of fish in the lagoon Things they could improve: - little things here and there are skody and could use some maintenance (eg fix the lock on the toilet door and fix the lock on the screen door so it isn’t banging all day), though from a distance the place looks like a film set - a bit sad not to have the buffet 5 of the nights we were there :-( we would have preferred the buffet dinner to the limited a la carte options but it was only buffet one night - the bush walk was cool but they just take you up one driveway and down another, investing in some paths would feel like they’ve made an effort The bures at the top of the hill are up 45ish steep steps which you get sick of pretty quickly, plus there’s another flight of stairs to pool/sea level. Soooo many steep steps could make these locations impossible for those with sore knees or vertigo etc. Thanks Crusoes for a great time - especially for taking a shine to our two year old who made a lot of friends (especially the security man) and loved every minute he spent there.…

Very comfortable Bue (Ocean View) - basic breakfast but purchased meals were good - rather isolated so need car if wanting to explore independently - DEF be aware of your accounts as I was charge for drinks charged to my room that I DID NOT order and even after following up with Assistant Manager Kelera after I returned home to Australia I have NOT received any response after 3 phone calls - I was also offered a 1 night refund for early checkout and this has NOT been honored - so just we wary of promises that will likely NOT be HONOURED - that in itself is very disappointing

I stayed here for four nights after staying at the Pearl resort. I drove down from Nadi airport, which is quite a long but easy drive. The accommodations are good but quite basic, I had a bure to myself all surrounded by well kept gardens and lawns. The main reception and restaurant and bar overlook the swimming pool and gardens towards the sea. The breakfast wasn’t the best but it was adequate, with boiled eggs, cereals and cakes. I had a traditional Polynesian shark tooth tattoo done in the small village next door, at a great price. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track but quite easy to find, in beautiful secluded area of Fiji.

Wow! What an absolutely breathtaking resort. I found this place completely by chance while searching for a place to stay while traveling from Nadi to Pacific Harbour. This resort is quite secluded, requiring 20 min drive on a dirt road but is so stunning. All the staff are so kind and welcoming. They made us feel like family immediately upon meeting them, they even sang us a goodbye song at dinner for our departure. The restaurant here is a tad bit expensive as they have to drive a far distance for produce, but all very delicious. I surely will be returning here!

Me and my sister stayed at Crusoes for 4 nights and loved every second! We left fulfilled and that we had immersed ourselves into Fijian lifestyle. We were welcomed into the village next door, went to church, drank kava and saw a local boy climb the palms and get coconuts. The entertainment at the resort was such a laugh and everybody has a smile on their face. The staff really do everything to make sure you have the best experience. I have seen reviews where people complain about the gravel road coming into crusoes. It is not bad and you can easily arrange a ride from the main road to the resort- just let the staff know. Also, you can catch the local bus from the main road outside the resort for $10 to Nadi. They run roughly every half hour/ hour. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy, we were luckily enough to see a sea snake and a reef shark. The only thing that wasn’t 5 star was the food, so just make sure you stock up on snacks before getting to the resort. But other than that… WOW! …

We stayed in one of the Bures very close to the beach front. The Bure was very clean and spacious with very large king size comfortable bed. A comfortable day bed and wonderful swinging chair on our own personal deck. Our view was amazing to say the least. The staff were some of the friendliest people we have ever met. This smaller retreat has close ties with the local village with many of the villagers working in Crusoe’s. This is our 2nd visit here and whilst the management has changed not enough to stop us returning as it feels like our 2nd home. The sign when you enter says come as visitors and leave as friends this time we felt we came as friends and left as family.
