Detailed Reviews
This Motel was excellent value, immaculate room with everything we needed. Ideal location, a short walk to the centre of town. The owner was so helpful and friendly, allowed us to park our car while we went biking for the day and provided a secure lock up for our bikes on our return. We really enjoyed our stay and cannot recommend this Motel highly enough.

Had a restful stay here. I found the room spacious and hosts had put a lot of effort into layout and furnishing of the rooms. Appreciated the bathroom had good lighting and bench space. Hosts were welcoming and helpful. Location is perfect, right next to the domain and close to the supermarket and cafes. Very good value for the quality of the room.

We have stayed at the Te Aroha motel twice during our trip around the North island visiting family. The facility is very clean and has comfortable beds. It is located directly across from a grocery store and within walking distance of the shops and cafes in town. Plus it is directly next door to some hot pools. The hotel host offers towels for the pools and has a laundry service if you ask.
What stood out to us was the customer service, the hosts truly went above and beyond for such a small hotel. They provided personalized service on each visit, doing our washing at short notice and providing treats for our kids It was a home away from home and we thank you for taking great care of us and our extended family. Aroha Nui !

Great review, you've made our day! It is fantastic to see you enjoyed your stay at the Te Aroha Motel, thanks for taking the time to highlight and detail the positives for other guests to hear as well. The natural soda spas and all the bush walks close to town for all levels are an attraction in themselves and its nice to think we helped your cycling adventure too - thank you, hope to see you again sometime Regards Glenys & Robin

Our family had a 3 night stay here in early August. It was a warm, comfortable room. There was a heater in the main room, but we found the room warm enough without using it. There is also a full size fridge. Lovely gardens to sit in and take in the view of Mt Te Aroha. Great service from staff. Would definitely stay again.

Caught without accomodation after 5pm we were beyond grateful to score a room at the He Aroha Motel. Our room while small & simple offered all the expected perks; ironing board & iron, wardrobe, kitchenette, en suite & a great big tv with the regular channels and Sky sports 1 available. Best of all the room & bathroom was very clean & tidy, and an added bonus was the powerful shower in the morning. Value for money is right up there and with many nature walks, hot pools, mountain biking tracks and countless other activities in the area we'd be pleased to return! Many thanks kind owners 👍😁🙏

Feeling so fortunate to have experienced this gem of a hotel. Nestled at the base of the mountain, it's just a quick walk to the mineral spas and heads of the gorgeous hiking trails. Also just steps to the Domain and the quaint, quirky village. The rooms are well appointed and tidy, the beds high quality and super comfy. Robin and Glenys will make you feel at home - making sure you have everything you need - including drink and lots of laughter. We hope to be able to escape to this magical place again soon.

We had five nights here for a holiday, just because we'd never been. The motel was great. The rooms are well-maintained, and as nicely presented as the photos show. The heat pumps meant the rooms were warm, so on the wintery day when it rained hard we were comfortable and didn't feel cooped up at all.
We came by bus - InterCity from Auckland to Hamilton then Busit to Te Aroha. We left by taxi to Paeroa and then by InterCity again Paeroa to Auckland. That really made the experience interesting and relaxing right from the moment we left our front door. Such good views from the high, comfortable InterCity buses - I hope never to have to drive on an open road again! Just wish they would let us take bikes.
Heaps to do in Te Aroha. The mountain, with its lookouts, waterfalls, and industrial history, is great, as were the walks along the cycle trail and near the river. The baths, the sculptures, the food, the architecture, the community facilities (eg lovely warm library and interesting community garden and community centre, etc) in Te Aroha all added to a great experience.
We'll come back some time for the cycling.

Perfect place to stay to cycle Hauraki Cycleway.
Glenys and Rob the owners of this motel amazing and can not recommend them enough. We are elderly riders rode Te Aroha to Paeroa and back first day before setting out to let them know where we were going. Rob reassured us he could pick us up whenever needed. They run shuttle services. Second day thought we may ride to Matamata and need to be brought back.
7 k into the ride, my husband got a puncture. Rang Rob who said he would be there in 5 mins. I rode home and in a matter of minutes was passed by Rob. He was professional and helped got the bike on car and also arranged to have puncture fixed in Morrinsville. With New Zealanders traveling local support.
Also great Te Aroha Hot Spa one hundred meters walk from Motel.

We arrived late afternoon after a long, hot and windy cycle ride on a dusty trail. The owner Robin met us with cold beers! He even offered to transport us back the next day if we decided the trail was too much to bear again. We declined the generous offer and hired e-bikes for the return trip (recommended!)
The room was very comfortable, nice beds, large screen TV, free wifi and near new air conditioning. All at a very reasonable price.
It's just a minutes walk to the town centre with shops and restaurants. Just a couple of minutes walk to the world famous thermal baths which are a must if staying in Te Aroha.
Overall, it's great value made even better by really friendly and helpful owners. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this place.

We stayed as part of a group doing a day hike upto the Te Aroha summit. Motel location was perfect as very close to the mineral pools, entrance to the walking track and cafe/shops. Very tidy and clean rooms, super comfortable beds which was well appreciated. Our hosts were super friendly and accommodated our group with ease, even providing a BBQ dinner for us. Would highly recommend to other traveller's and hikers..
