This is as honest as I can be !!! We arrived late at night and were greeted by a lovely German lady on reception that was very friendly throughout or stay ❤ she was a diamond. Paid the room tax (that we didn't know about, but was only 10 euro) and made our way to our room which was in the 600's. We knew we would be a little bit away from reception as we were self catering which was fine. We were lucky enough to have a sea view and a balcony which was an absolute sun trap ❤. The room was basic but very clean with all you need for your stay, kettle, sink, 2 ring hob, pans, cutlery, cups, plates , glasses, microwave and fridge/freezer, we had 2 single beds but pushed together, a bathroom with shower which we always had warm water. We did visit the stella supermarket under the hotel (their bread was delicious) but after walking a little bit further into town we found another supermarket which had a lot more in store for a little cheaper. If you walk to lee beach there is also an ABC supermarket with a larger selection about the same price as the stella supermarket. There is a taxi rank on the door step, a cash machine and a bus stop just along the road, about a minute walk to the left. The breakfast again was quite basic but tasty and enough selection to get you set for the day. We were even converted to the (turkey) "bacon". The selection was great with full English options, pastries, breads, ham, cheese, coffee, water, juice etc. There are loads of restaurants and bars near by and everyone was very friendly, especially Rico in Posiedon's. This has a pool and if you drink or eat here you can use the pool and sunbeds free, we had a chicken club sandwich and was enough for 2 and VERY nice. We didn't stay In the hotel to sample their restaurant or pool as we were sight seeing every day but friends of ours did and they loved it and on sight it did look lovely. We would definitely stay again as it is a great base with great amenities. The maids are brilliant and came every other day but were always on hand for anything you needed. Thank you for a lovely stay to all the staff. The only reason it is not a 5* review is as much as the hotel was lovely and staff were great I do believe there could be improvemens by updating some furniture in rooms (the beds are quite hard and I found it hard to sleep) and breakfast area could have been a little better with more than one toaster. All in all though a really nice stay and we would return.

What you’re getting at this hotel is a basic, no frills room and a pleasant bar and pool area, where there’s also a children’s pool. If value for money and a simple base is what you’re looking for, this is fine., but don’t expect more than that. The hotel is situated right in the centre of the town and on an incline, which while not that steep, might be difficult for some less mobile people in the heat. It’s a 10 minute walk from the beach, which is sandy and where there are several good tavernas, notably Flyers near the boat hire, right by the beach and with lovely staff and excellent service.
Our room was average, with a large wardrobe, dressing table, small kitchenette area, table, fairly hard twin beds and a very dated shower room, complete with clingy plastic shower curtain. It was just somewhere to sleep and make a cup of tea, but if you like to relax in your room in comfort on holiday, you would probably not book this hotel. There was a fridge, microwave and toaster, but no kettle, so a travel size kettle would be worth bringing with you.
Maid service was good or hardly noticeable, depending on which maid cleaned the room. We asked for a quiet room when booking, so we were quite a way from the pool and bar, which suited us well as there was fairly loud music playing most of the day. Staff were pleasant and polite, although the bartender could be described as’a character’ and we agree with the earlier posted comments on his behaviour.
We enjoyed our holiday, but because we were mostly out on the beach or in the town. We would return to Pefkos, but would probably not stay at this hotel again.

The best thing about the Stella Hotel is the location to the resort centre with some great restaurants and friendly bars and it's only a 10-15 min walk to the fabulous Lee Beach.

The apartments are very dated and the facilities are not really good enough to self cater so don't expect to be doing much cooking when you are away. We just made use of the fridge for cold drinks.

There were hundreds of ants in the apartment. In the kitchen, bathroom, balcony and even in the beds but it seems this is a problem everywhere. We got used to sharing!

In my opinion the cleaning standards were not great, especially in the current Covid situation. The communal areas and pool were quite dirty and some litter, spillages (ice cream) were still there days later. We should have maybe informed the management but we tended to avoid those areas or go elsewhere - like the beach.

Some large groups made the pool area quite rowdy and whilst we expect people to enjoy their holiday it would have also been nice for them to have respect for other guests.

The on-site supermarket was very poorly stocked and the fridges were not chilled enough to keep drinks cold so we used the other 2 nearby ones instead.

But I suppose as always you get what you pay for.

We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment at the Stella Aparthotel, Pefkos with our two children for one week in October 2020. The hotel is in a good, central location and our apartment was spacious. The staff were very friendly. Sadly, we struggled with the lack of cleanliness both within our apartment and at breakfast. The bathroom was dirty with stray hairs, soap scum and generally needed maintenance (I've attached some pictures).

To be fair to the hotel management, we were moved rooms after we logged our complaint with Jet2 and our second room (block 5) was an improvement on our original one (block one). However, it took several complaints (both directly with hotel staff and with Jet2) to get the breakfast table and highchair cleaned to an acceptable standard.

Even after the highchair tray had been cleaned by staff, the dirt coming off it onto an antibacterial wipe I used was pretty shocking (I've attached images so you can see what I mean). It was disconcerting given our expectation that hygiene would be even more of a priority given the impact of Covid-19.

Breakfast was okay - the pastries were hard and, in particular, the croissants seemed stale. There's an on-site bakery apparently, so not sure the reason for hard croissants.

Finally, we couldn't get hot water at any time of the day we tried. In fairness to the hotel, we didn't mention this because we were kind of sick of complaining and cold water was not a big deal compared to the issue of cleanliness.

Hopefully with some general maintenance and some improvements in cleaning protocol this place will improve for next season?

Set back from the main road with a nice sized pool and close to many of the excellent restaurants and bars. My room was clean spacious with two twin beds in the main bedroom and two singles in the lounge ideal for kids. The kitchen/lounge was well laid out for a self catering holiday although I never used it.
The food was good and the staff were really friendly.
Lindos is a short taxi ride away costing around 8 euros each way and well worth a visit.
Due to the situation with covid the hotel wasn't busy and seemed to be very laid back and they had put in place all the precautions needed which was very reassuring and didn't spoil the holiday at all.

I think I must’ve stayed at a different Stella than some of the other reviewers. Having just returned from a week at the Stella I cannot speak highly enough of the accommodation and facilities and in particular the helpful staff. The rooms are very clean and spacious and have everything you would need. They are typical of holiday accommodation i.e. fairly basic but there was nothing uncomfortable about the apartment. The location is absolutely perfect. A short downhill walk through the main shopping area to the beach and right in the heart of the main restaurant area.

I’m afraid I did not get the name of the gentleman who seems to work around the clock either on reception all in the bar but he was extremely welcoming and had a great dry sense of humour. Snacks and drinks at the Stella were extremely good value and as a result of this we spent our days mainly around the pool which has a huge terrace area with ample sunbeds and space to make your own area. Taxi rank is immediately outside the hotel and I do believe the bus stops there as well.

This was a great value break and I enjoyed every minute of the Stella. The room cleaner spoke barely any English but we enjoyed many a smile and communicated in our own way. She worked extremely hard and I was very grateful.

We had opted for the breakfast and while simple was extremely enjoyable. I will definitely return to the Stella and I hope potential visitors aren’t put off by some of the reviews which reflect a completely different experience than that I had. Highly recommend the Stella

This hotel is centrally located for all the restaurants and bars in Pefkos and the taxi rank is directly opposite, helpfully taxi rates are clearly displayed so you don't get over charged.
Pool is a good size and always plenty of sun beds available, although the beds themselves are basic and we found comfier ones at the numerous pool bars in Pefkos that you can use free of charge.
The room was clean, basic Greek style decoration and facilities. We had a small balcony with a view of the pool and the sea.
Aircon is needed and we were charged €60 for the week. We also paid €30 to keep the room til 6pm on our last day, although you can use a free courtesy room free of charge if you prefer.
We were self catering so didn't try much food in the hotel, we had breakfast once and it was poor, a toasty made of warm bread and poor quality ingredients, there are better places to eat across the road.
Overall, it's not as luxurious as some hotels in the resort but it's cheaper so you get what you pay for!

Absolutely horrendous experience.

What started off fairly ok here soon turned into a nightmare. Having been to Pefkos many times & having seen this place mentioned loads before, we thought we’d give it a try. What a mistake.

The rooms were ok, very basic but ok.

The pool area is ok. The pool itself is far too small for the size of the hotel & at times felt dangerously over crowded.

2/3 days into our holiday a group turned up & the place quickly started to resemble a scene from Benidorm. Smoking in the pool, taking glass bottles & drinking them in the pool. From them arriving first thing to them leaving last off at night the noise & behaviour was absolutely unbearable.

We mentioned this to the hotel staff who didn’t care one bit, the response we got was “its their holiday also”. The reality of it is they probably didn’t confront them as they were travel agents & represented Jet2 (the main operator covering this hotel).

From day 4 of our holiday we used different pools & facilities around the resort as we didn’t want to sit & witness this trash day in day out.

Thinking it couldn’t get worse, it did when we found rats in the stairwell outside our room!!!!

Again, reported to reception. Again no interest.

Massive problem with ants in the room, reported to reception…..we were given a can of insect spray & then left with the dead ants all over the floor for 2 days.

In a nutshell avoid this dump at all costs!!!!!

Just got back from 2 weeks with my wife and 2 teenage girls. Echo comments of others - fairly basic as expected for price, great location. Pool ok, pretty busy as not massive for number of people. Room was basic but acceptable. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh bedding/towels every few days which was great. Shower was rubbish and air con is pricey (but knew that before I went). All in all though I’d say the room was decent and we did have a great view overlooking the pool and out to sea.

Biggest grumble for me would be the staff. Don’t recognise a lot of the comments on here about how great they are. Thought they were pretty abrupt and any time I asked anything it was made to seem like a hassle, e.g. late checkout, paying for air con. When I asked if they could help with organising a taxi for early in the morning as we needed to get into Lindos for a boat trip I was totally dismissed and told to “ask a taxi driver”! One exception was the cleaning lady who didn’t speak English but was super-helpful and did a great job (hence she got a good tip). My view is that because we didn’t spend all our time round the hotel pool (we spent several days exploring the island, enjoyed the beach and also tried other pool bars) they had no interest in us.

Pefkos itself had great restaurants and standard of food really good. Lovely sandy beach and sea is fantastic. Beware there’s barely an inch of beach not covered by the sun bed vendors and at 20 euros for 2 beds with a parasol not particularly cheap.

Would probably consider going back to Pefkos but wouldn’t stay at the Stella again. It wasn’t terrible but I expect there are better places.

A true review of the hotel.

First time that we have stayed here, we have stayed at money places in Pefkos, some hotels for around the same price for what we paid. Not the best in this price range.
Stella is okay, good value as included breakfast, basically you pay for what you get.
back to the reception so not good for those that struggle to put one foot in front of the other. A short cut to the strip which was good if you are at the top end of the resort eating 7 drinking. Some fairly good views of the sea but also the back of a few restaurants. Additional cost for the Air Conditioning, not too bad cost wise, safes are also at a cost, no deposit refund?
If you like ants, stay in the studios, didn't really bother us but would be ab issue for some. Cleaning was okay but if you went checking you would see things.

Usual cat issue, trying to get into your room, not a problem but plates of cat food left all over the place by other rooms.

Facilities are dated, Bar is basically a add on the to the restaurant. Pool was okay visual wise, never used it as prefer the beach. No curtesy shower or luggage room which was a surprise as all other hotels in the area that we have used had this.

Breakfast, probably the worst that we have had in the hotels. You will have to time it right as frequently item trays were empty, staff didn't really seem bothered when asked. Some re-cooking also appeared to be happening. Surprised by the amount of customers not wearing face coverings in this area plus the serving process in relation to hygiene needs to be question.

Reception, wow, I think some customer service courses are needed plus happy pills. The day shift chap just gave the impression that he didn't want to be there, un-helpful is an understatement. Spoiled the experience really.

Overall the hotel appears tired, the grounds have seen better days, in need of modernizing.

We have probably stayed in over a dozen hotels in Pefkos & I'm sorry to say this one is in the pub league football wise.

Would I stay there again at the bargain price I paid, no, mainly due to the non existent customer service from the reception.

Sorry Stella Hotel but a big cross o our list.
