Langley Resort Fort Royal garners mixed reviews with its prime location often earning praise from guests for beach access and a variety of activities. However, some visitors have voiced concerns regarding room maintenance and cleanliness. While the service can be a hit or miss, and the atmosphere is sometimes described as lacking vibrancy, the hotel's amenities, including stunning beaches, are generally appreciated. Critics, though, point to the value as underwhelming, citing subpar food and unexpected additional costs.

Very relaxing hotel. Superb setting.

We were in the bungalows which are more like cocooning cottages. We had a pleasant stay and a very well organized New Year!

A beautiful beach with clear water with deckchairs always available and at the swimming pool too. We really appreciated this aspect where we don't step on each other regardless of the location (beach, swimming pool, restaurant, bar, parking).

We don't regret coming!

The only downside I can bring is perhaps the lack of Creole authenticity of the staff and the cards. Despite this point, the staff was extremely appreciative all the same, special mention to Lorena! If you want Creole tradition you have to go to guest rooms!

Close to restaurants and other attractions, there is plenty to do but with a car! Less than 10min

We spent 1 night in the hotel, overall it went very well. We took the full board package which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner without drinks.

However, lunch service was rather poor, we ordered two cocktails which arrived more than 30 minutes after the order, lunch arrived more than 1h30 later. On the menu the dish of the day looked appetizing: grilled lobster, after an hour and a half of waiting we ate half a lobster stuffed with salad. The lobster seemed thawed.

Be careful for full board lunch, it’s starter + main course or main course + dessert

Waiters don't speak much French and not many locals. Lots of foreigners in the hotel.

Parking much too far from the hotel.

On the other hand, we reserved a bungalow, excellent bedding, and air-conditioned room.

Hotel with a magnificent landscape, great beach, full board we had access to the activities offered by the hotel for free: kayaking, catamaran…

Excellent geographical location, in an area with little tourism.
Facing the sea, with several accesses to the beach.
We chose the half board option, which seems to us to be the best compromise.
We chose the large sea view room, the bungalows being too close to the passage to the sea.
The elevator, which has been broken for a month, can be a hindrance for people living on the fourth floor.
Hiring French-speaking and/or local staff for room service would be highly desirable: Guadeloupe is a French department. Currently the staff in the room are mainly Swedish and do not speak French.
However, Adam, June and Saga bring a great touch of friendliness and professionalism.

This hotel is in poor condition, a lot of things are abandoned, the staff is overwhelmed, the buffet food is terrible, the lunch restaurant is OK. The rooms are cleaned randomly, the towels are changed every other day when the cleaning lady puts them in the room. The 9 a.m. beach towels are gone and you have to wait until 2 p.m., it’s shameful. The only good thing about this hotel is its beach. Above all, don't go there

Could be a nice hotel considering its setting but a lot of dysfunction
It is not acceptable for a hotel in a French-speaking country to host their restaurant an employee who does not speak a word of French she is unfortunately not the only one it is deplorable Guadeloupe is not an English-speaking island
Home half figs half grapes
In the hotel building works here and there
At the level of the room comfortable bedding, stained armchair cover, shower gel made available empty fortunately the employees on the floors are smiling
Dinner is not worth the asking price

Very disappointed very quickly after arrival.
We had to change rooms because we had been allocated a room reserved for people with reduced mobility with a sink 60 cm from the floor. I am 1m92 tall.
The second bedroom on the 4th floor with elevators out of service all week allowed us to have a private swimming pool because the non-watertight bay windows let in water from the night storm.
The hotel is under construction and the noise must be tolerated by customers.
Access to the stairs at the rear of the building is not maintained and muddy. There is only one toilet reserved for customers and it is quite far from the beach, behind the restaurant.
Car parking is at least 300 m from reception.
In short, you have understood that I will certainly not recommend this hotel to friends.
They should have closed and carried out fundamental work before receiving customers.
The only positive point is the welcome and the smile of the employees who really do what they can to enhance the image of this hotel, but they also suffer the inconveniences.

Catering: too poor in local products, not to mention the "so-called shortages" which reduce the choice which is already very meager at the start (e.g. no mint for three days therefore no mojito at the bar, no coconut ice cream therefore no pina -colada which are the two obligatory drinks to have for a basic 4 star, a la carte desserts at lunchtime in full board formula but then just chocolate or vanilla or strawberry ball and nothing else available for dessert because of the problems delivery but magic in the evening the desserts are available).
lunch it takes 2 hours to have a dish + a scoop of ice cream for dessert
we are on a full board plan and yet no drinks included, even water during the day must be taken in a bottle and you have to pay for it, it's a shame.

The premises: No elevator for months, dangerous swimming pool due to defective ladder, missing tiles, main filtration plate at the bottom of the water unhooked.

Road between parking lot and hotel deplorable.

Old building and work in progress, sometimes noisy in the morning
Aging rooms, electricity not up to standard (bare cable coming out of the ceiling for example), lack of tiling in the rooms, more than questionable hygiene not to be more naughty

the staff: nothing to say about the metropolitan staff!
On the other hand, the rest of the Nordic staff could learn French or English (yes, English), they could also learn to just say hello and goodbye, that would be a plus.
Why are the premises placed in discreet or even hidden positions? they would I think be much better than some of your Nordic staff.

If you read to this line you must say to yourself that we are a pain, for information we will make a request to our travel organizer, we have photos which prove all the hygiene and dilapidation part.
This opinion is unfortunately just part of the sad truth of our stay of 4 including two young children.
Just part because the rest I keep for the current procedure

We took a sea view bungalow.
Apart from the experience of being able to sleep with the bed close to the magnificent sea everything else leaves something to be desired!

Swimming pool to redo the tiling breaks, dangerous you can cut yourself..
Screws coming out of wooden slats

The bar is unsanitary and glasses litter the floor. The waiters are adorable but 1 waiter for the whole bar can't handle everything, poor guy..
at the price of the night they could hire more staff!!!

€30 for 2 glasses of planter which are not made on site (pre-made bottle planter) and 2 croque monsieurs which come out of the freezer.. thank you for the flight!

The evening restaurant is bad!! Fortunately a waiter welcomes us with a smile and advises us given our request to eat outside the hotel

We ate a good, inexpensive pizza next to the hotel at Bruno’s which is adorable!!

The breakfast is ok though

The sea view bungalow is clean and the bedding is very good however

Clearly you can spend a night to enjoy the view of the experience and the morning swim when you wake up in the sea

to spend a night there on Saturday August 19, 2023, we have the right to expect, for an establishment of such a standard, a minimum of hygiene and cleanliness!!!
377€ one night with dinner and breakfast included for two people, the dining room part, not cleaned, dirty with food waste littering the restaurant floor, in the morning at 7 a.m. for breakfast. At the bar, at 10 o'clock, to have a coffee, very dirty counter, on which the traces of the evening of the day before are not cleaned, counter sticky with traces of alcohol spilled the day before and disgusting floor, strewn with rubbish from the party the day before, very disappointed!!

Dear travelers, I invite you to read my review before setting foot in this hotel.
We had indeed read the reviews on the website but we told ourselves that we should not take them into account. Well I confirm to you that it is better to take it into account!
The Fort Royal Langley resort hotel is a huge web of lies.
- The breakfast is terrible. It should not be allowed to serve this kind of breakfast in a 4* hotel or even less. There was no fresh produce! The mini croissants and raisin breads were thawed and I even wonder if they weren't leftovers from the day before every day. No fresh fruit except pineapple and melon but even that wasn't very good. Fruit juices are water mixed with powder. DISGUSTING ! And disrespectful to customers who paid for a minimum standard.
- There is a very unpleasant smell in certain corners of the hotel and in the bathrooms which are nauseating, especially when you wake up.
- There was no atmosphere in the hotel, no music or little things that could liven up the day.
- No working TV. They tell us that I quote "it's been broken for a week" when reading the reviews we realize that the TV has been broken for ages and that nothing is being done to resolve this problem!
In short... I'll tell you the main thing but I'll pass on that! The hotel has great potential, despite everything the surroundings (beach, swimming pool, beach bar, etc.) were very cute and we were still able to have a good stay.
The staff is very pleasant, they are kind. Having come in low season we did not notice that the staff spoke more English than French we had everything.
It’s a real shame that nothing is being done to take control of the establishment. There is a serious lack of organization.
I do not recommend this hotel.
