Good modernised bathroom (shower only) with a few older scratches. Room itself old and crammed, not even 3 stars despite the comfy beds and good wifi. Breakfast also between 2 and 3 star quality; no hot food and hardly yoghurt, however good fruit, bread and Italian sweet stuff. Friendly staff and excellent dinner restaurant. Good to go if the location (at doorstep of station) and 2-3 star price are important.
Our two day stop over in Tirano was made all the more delightful and pleasant by the staff and cuisine of Hotel Bernina ...the professionalism of the staff and amazing cuisine along with the ambient warmth and encouraging welcome made for two nights of delicious pleasure ...love the pizza chef and the waiter with the proud curly moustache :)
This place was a surprise as we were making our way from Italy to Switzerland and stayed here overnight. But we were blown away by the rooms, food, and hospitality. We regretted staying here only for one night.
The property is not new. However, it was clean, comfortable, a good price and very close to the train station. The hotel staff was courteous and able to check us in and out promptly even though there were a number of people waiting. The breakfast was quite good. We found Hotel Bernina to be great place to stay for those unable to make the Bernina Express connection to the train going to Milan. Tirano is a nice town.
Basic accommodation but convenient to train station and central town area. Breakfast was simple, our room was clean but outdated. Beds were comfortable, shower only in bathroom which was disappointing.
