Nestled in a scenic and tranquil setting, the Haven - Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Village offers guests a mixed experience. While many guests commend the friendly staff and enjoy the professional entertainment, they report inconsistencies with service and concerns over noise. The well-maintained pools are a highlight, yet the high cost of food, drinks, and activities, along with cleanliness issues in some areas, have left some visitors feeling that the value for money could be improved. Rooms are generally appreciated for their size, though some lack in maintenance and cleanliness.

Just returned from staying in a premium caravan for a week at Chestnut grove. This is our second visit as we were here last year.
All communication prior to arrival was received via email, all communication was easy to understand with the new process due to Covid and what we needed to know and do.
Check in was straight forward at security, when we got to the caravan it was all sealed, the caravan was immaculate, well done to all the cleaning staff! Fabulous time , booking tables And pizza delivery was straight forward and easy to do via the apps and booking drinks really easy once set up on your phone. But if you have any problems the staff there are really helpful and friendly so they are happy to help.
The site was immaculate and Haven staff have done a great job keeping the site Covid free, plenty of sanitiser and signage around the site for you to follow, we felt very safe indeed , the staff We’re really friendly and helpful.
It was lovely to hear a supervisor at a caravan opposite had gone to inspect one of the caravans just cleaned by staff and I could hear him say “well done guys, good job!” That was lovely to hear staff recognition and I know they spend hours cleaning the vans to haven standards, so yes well done for a fabulous standard you do.
The food was great in mash and barrel, you’re taken to your table for waitress service , was very quick indeed and pizza was delicious from papa johns too.
The new Q scan now in place so download the NHS Covid track n trace as this will be required to scan in the inside areas, simple to use, scan a barcode.
One thing little disappointing was paid extra for fun passes as these were not included and had to sit through bingo for over half hour , we don’t play bingo so had to sit in silence , gave up going back to live lounge after 2 occasions as I didn’t fancy sitting in silence any longer.
Be prepared to queue up outside for live lounge bookings as you need to be track n traced prior to entry and only a few people can enter at one time so will take about half hour to enter but this has to be done For own safety so not a problem.
All in all a great time again and will be booking to go back in the near future.
Would recommend this site for families, couples and easy flat access to all areas so great if you have pushchair, wheelchair, walking stick or find difficulty walking.
Well done Haven !

Northamptonshire- M Horswell

Thank you for your lovely review of our park! Our team have worked very hard in the introduction of our new arrival process and our new table booking system so we are very pleased to know you found it to be so straight forward and the team to be so helpful and friendly! It is wonderful to note that you found our park to be immaculate and so very safe and you overheard one of our Accommodation Managers praising the team. I will be sure to pass on all your kind feedback to all the team here at Burnham on Sea. While adjusting to this ‘new normal’ with the current restrictions we have had to make changes to our evening entertainment and please accept my apologies if this caused any disappointment. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Willow Holiday Experience

We booked way before Covid19 with an expectation of two Caravans side by side (8 of us) with Covid19 all manner of delays and possible cancellations it wasn’t until 3 weeks before our holiday that someone was finally honest and said they didn’t have two Prestige vans side by side ... Frustrating but faced with cancelling or accept that we couldn’t have adjacent vans we ended up 3 vans apart.
It’s difficult to fault the staff but the wild inconsistencies caused problems Swimming could only be booked 2 or 3 days in advance so we had to second guess the weather often nothing was available, on one hot evening we wanted to use the Terrance for a drink (It seats probably 50/60 people there was 4 (Four) people on there but because the restaurant was full we wasn’t allowed to, trying to book the restaurant was impossible. Covid19 rules were totally ignored in the arcades lol ... The site was clean the van was great the location good but no kids entertainment no adult entertainment until 9:00pm (Which had to be booked in advance) with young kids wasn’t practical as anyone with kids know second guessing kids tiredness 2 or 3 days in advance is laughable. Would I go again no.

Thank you for review of our park. We will always ensure that our guests are allocated the grade of accommodation they have booked though we are unable to guarantee a specific location. Due to the different caravan grades and areas we are unable to guarantee we would have two of the same grade next door to each other but I am pleased that we were able to place you so close together. We have had to introduce new procedures to keep our guests, owners and team safe including bookable swim sessions and tables in the restaurants. Weather can definitely be a tricky one to foresee and I am glad you were able to enjoy the pools. We have limited the amount of tables in our Mash and Barrel to adhere to the government social distancing guidelines. We encourage all of guests to socially distance and we have a capacity on our arcade and once we do hit that limit, for the safety of everyone, we do not let more guests in. I am please you found our site to be clean and your accommodation to be in a great location. We schedule two entertainment sessions per evening one starting a 5pm- 7:30pm and one starting from 8:15pm till late, these are bookable and we do ask our guests to book only one session per evening. I am sorry you feel you would not visit us again and I do hope you change your mind in the future. Willow Holiday Experience

Just came back from a weeks stay. We stayed in a platinum caravan in severn view which had a slight view of the lake ! (A week before we arrived, we had the opportunity to choose our holiday home and location for an extra fee). Check in was easy and had an early time of 12:00-13:00. Caravan was ready on arrival and was very clean, except one bedroom had an awful smell to it but with some airing out and air freshener it went away.

Security staff this year were outstanding ! Good to see them checking play passes and bags. They also checked again when going into the live lounge. They always were having a good laugh with guests.

Since we are a family of adults we don't go to see the children's entertainment but we do like to see what the visiting acts are. There were 2 bands and a magician (Respect, The night we met and James long). The night we met band have to make a return ! They were amazing and everybody joined in singing and dancing, even with the drummer having some technical issues. The magician was great for the kids but adults didn't really take to it.

We couldn't understand the entertainment staff when announcing due to the microphones either being really loud or the music overpowering them, so it was hard to hear what was on next.

Haven serve app worked really well, didn't have one issue and the wifi when in the live lounge works amazing.

Arcade has a new card system, got some getting used to but it is a good idea, only downside is that the games have become a bit more expensive (Gone from being £1 to now £1.25). Pool table is in need of a fix.

Crazy golf didn't need to be booked through the haven app and was cheap and fun to play (£2.50 each !)

Papa johns was tasty as usual but prices can be expensive, we found one of the ''family original feasts'' the best deal !

Definitely will be making a return next year !

I haven’t even got on my holiday yet I am due to go on Friday and I honestly wish I wasn’t. Firstly I’ve been given a “after 7pm” check in time which is insane after travelling with a 3 and 6 year old the last thing I want to do is potentially not be getting into my accommodation until after 8pm. Also my first evening is then non existent. Secondly haven will no longer allow you to upgrade once they have allocated you a room due to covid as they say the cleaning schedule has to be sent to the cleaners ready for the upcoming stay so I’m currently stuck with the basic furthest away room (I always leave me upgrading until last minute after seeing what I have been allocated). Thirdly I have been on to book a slot in the lounge/entertainment areas and there is no availability/tables for my party so I have been sold entertainment passes for there to be no availability in the entertainment for me. I’m really disappointed and feeling disheartened about going and I haven’t even got there yet. I knew there would have been changes due to Covid I am not being naive however common sense tells me entertainment passes should be sold on availability and check in times could be looked at a little fairer. I have never been anywhere in the world that hasn’t allowed me to check in until after 7pm!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to review our park though I understand that you have not arrived on your holiday with us yet. We would never wish to cause our guests any disappointment before their holiday begins, or while on holiday with us and I understand that you are unhappy with the processes we have in place. For any guests who have an "after 7pm" arrival time, you are able to arrive from 7pm and we will ensure you are welcomed straight away so you can settle into your holiday as swiftly as possible. We have made the decision to stagger our arrival times to ensure we welcome our guests to our park in the most safe and secure way. We do our best to make sure our guests are allocated an accommodation that will be suitable for them though location is not something we are able to guarantee. Prior to your holiday, you would have received an email explaining our Choose Your Holiday Home process which allows our guests to select the grade and location most suitable for them. This is the only way to guarantee the location of the accommodation. All our guests were given the chance to upgrade their holiday to a full experience holiday and with this, you receive information explaining when you are able to book tables within our venues and swimming sessions. We do advise that all slots are subject to availability and to book these as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to pop into Reception when you arrive on park. Pippa Holiday Experience Manager

We stayed in a Safari Tent and it was fantastic. We were able to book the activities on the app and then at the activity points . All the staff we met were great , couldn’t have been more helpful. Both of the pools were really clean and not over filled with people, cleaned all the time. Staff were going around sanitising areas constantly , hand gel points everywhere you go . Good to see that they are being sensible with restrictions.
The activities are well planned, affordable and well resourced. A variety of activities for different ages and abilities.
The restaurants and takeaways can become a bit expensive, would recommend you take some food yourself , even if microwave dinners just to fill your stomach.
Take plenty of squash and water, the ice cream van is serves delicious ice cream and there is a wagon that serves pints outside .
Definitely well worth the money , the beach was only a stones throw away , check the tides . The beach was nice , no dogs .
Thank you Haven , we will be back next year !

Thank you such a brilliant review of our park! Our Safari Tents were brand new this year and it is lovely to hear that you thought these were fantastic! Our team work hard to keep everyone as safe and secure as possible during their stay with us and even with the lifting of restrictions, we have strict cleaning processes in place for the safety of everyone. I am pleased that you enjoyed your days and evenings with us making the most of our activities and restaurants. We are lucky to be so close to the beach although tide times are always worth checking as it can come in much quicker than you think! We look forward to seeing you again next year :) Pippa Experience Team Manager

We stayed for a week in September. Had not stayed at Burnham before but have stayed at many other Haven parks multiple times in the last 20 years and have always had a great time.

Sadly, our experience at this one was very poor, primarily to do with the caravan we hired, which we thought would be a Haven caravan but turned out to be an owner one rented by Haven.

I had some serious safety and security issues/concerns, which really upset us and ruined our overall experience.

Only one glass safety sticker was stuck on any of the glass doors and it was right at the very top of the sliding patio doors way above anyone’s eye level. I unfortunately walked into the door, forgetting which side was open.

There was no hairdryer despite the caravan description saying there was one.

Electrical items inside were cheap and had no PAT test stickers or they had an old sticker with dates that expired in January 2021.

Most upsetting was that we discovered someone other than us had been in the caravan whilst we were out. A heavy duty oven tray had been removed from the caravan that we had cooked on earlier in the week. In addition, a previously locked kitchen cupboard (locked on arrival & containing the owners items) was found open/unlocked at the end of the week.

I mailed a polite letter to Haven HQ to raise these concerns they gave assurances about some of the things, but I was fobbed off on the breach of security - their explanation is that a boiler maintenance man went in whilst we were out. This definitely wasn’t the case, and doesn’t explain missing items or unlocked cupboards. A repair man did attend to fix the boiler at the start of the week whilst we were at the caravan. Even if he had popped back, why on earth would he take items from the caravan or unlock the owners kitchen cupboard. The mind boggles!

Of course whoever did come in also breached Haven’s Covid cleanliness promise that they make to all of their guests. We have no idea what they touched!

This will be our last Haven holiday. Safety and security is vital for having a happy holiday, and I feel I tried to be fair and give Haven a chance to respond fully - following their really restrictive complaints procedure, but they clearly don’t care. They just want your money…and I suppose who can blame them, it’s been a tough 18 months and they know next year we’ll all be going abroad again! I certainly will be now :-)

Arrived at the park a day late pre arranged with the park and went straight to my assigned caravan in Brent view we had booked a prestige and it was spotless on arrival and my hired goods were there waiting and it was a good location not far to walk to the entertainment at all!
We booked a few things through t be app and didn’t have a problem - We went to the day circus entertainment which was ok there was only one other child there and then we went to the early night time one once but the children had to stay by the table so we left after about 10 mins.
The amusements were good and were regularly being cleaned and you now top up a card to use the machines- we used the swimming pool once and again was organised well and wasn’t over crowded.
We went to Noah’s ark zoo which was about 30 mins away and was a good day out and we went to a local Indian chadni which was nice and had a weekly deal on-
Overall lovely park and would recommend

We booked a Haven Hideaway break which did not include swimming pool or entertainment. Check in is at the main gate on arrival and then straight to your caravan - so easy!
The caravan was spotlessly clean with brand new linen and equipment so felt perfectly Covid safe. The site is well maintained and wasn't at full capacity so social distancing not a problem. Yes, there were some kids around but it was lovely to hear them letting off a bit of steam after weeks of lockdown. Not a problem for us it is a lovely family park.
Burnham On Sea is just a few minutes walk away with a small high street full of little independent shops and has a traditional seaside feel to it. We will definitely return later in the year.

We all understand the need to stay safe and well in these uncertain times

We booked a weekend break 31/07/20 to 03/08/20
due to new covid guide lines you are allocated a 1 hour check in time slot ours was 18:00 to 19:00 I phoned the site and explained we were traveling down with our son who had booked in to their touring site and had a check in slot of 12:00 to 13:00 I was told in no uncertain terms that our check in time could not be moved and we were not to arrive before the allocated time slot as we would be refused entry, we arrived early anyway as passengers in our sons cart he gate people were only interested in the car reg number which you have to give prior to arrival our haven caravan was basic and dated and although it had been sealed to say it had been cleaned we found thick layers of dust on the heated towel rail and nail clippings on the settee.
at the time of booking there was no entertainment or restaurant facilities however we noticed on the website the restaurant was now available bookable 3 days in advance I phoned the site to book only to be told this was for owners only when I questioned this I was then told I had to download an app ?? and book on that
if you want to eat in the restaurant you have to pre-book and you are given a 90 minute time slot which was politely but strictly adhered to.
we also found out that there was bingo available in the upstairs entertainments lounge again we were told owners only then yes you can again you must pre-book your seats but you must also purchase fun passes for the 6 of us that was a total of £139.80 not worth it for one game of bingo.
at a time when we are being encouraged to support British businesses and the economy you would have thought Haven would be champing at the bit to get us in to their bars and restaurants spending our money all I can say is the surrounding pubs and restaurants must be coining it in
it will be a long time before I set foot in another Haven camp site to many restrictions and barriers.

Thank you for your review of our park. Due to the current circumstances we have had to change our check in process to make sure we are keeping out team and guest safe, we use an algorithm that allocates different arrival times based on different factors to monitor the capacity of guests arriving at one time. We are unable to change any arrival times once these have been allocated. This is a very new system that our team are getting used to, while you should have not been allowed on to park until your arrival time, I do hope you were able to enjoy the time with your son until your accommodation was ready. Our accommodations can be up 7 years old and I am sorry the design of your caravan was not to your taste. We do ask our guests to bring any concerns to our attention as soon as possible and the team would have been happy to rectify any concerns raised. In the 3 days before your holiday, the Mash & Barrel would’ve been open to owners but for the date you arrived you would’ve been able to book a table using your accommodation address, you are able to do this the day before you arrive as this is when you are informed of where you will be staying. To use the entertainment venue you do require a pass, which is not included in our Haven Hideaway offer. We have been selling passes during the day for our guests who booked under our Haven Hideaway offer and these passes allow you access to the evening entertainment venue and swimming pools. We do hope you decide to come and holiday with us again in the future. Willow Holiday Experience

A very smooth and contact free check-in process. The caravan was clean and the park was covid prepped with hand sanitisers everywhere and staff enforcing masks at entrances of the shop and all indoor facilities.

The staff are very welcoming and conscientiously work hard to ensure that visitors are having a good time. The manager Pippa Jarvis is brilliant and the activities staff, like Dan are fun and always smiling - no matter what the weather!

Stayed in a silver in Sept last year and it was spotless, I wouldn’t worry, just do a good check when you get there and staff are lovely and helpful if there’s an issue.

Morning, not stopped in these vans, but walked passed the area, canavans are normal size either 2 or 3 bedroom. The area is a moat were they use the boat, only small some with decking, there are of course plenty of small birds ect, there is a couple of private vans to rent in this location, just across the area is the pool area and club house, for location is great as only 2 mins away, depends what you are looking for and of course your money to spend
