Back at this hotel after about 12 years. A very spacious room at the time, now tucked away at the back on the third floor, under a sloping roof, with two tilting windows offering a view of a bright blue sky. Because of the temperature (over 30 degrees) it was far from pleasant in this room. Changing rooms was not possible due to the crowds. The room fan could only run when the light was on. Coffee machine was broken, cups fell straight into the container. Complaining at reception yielded no results (you are doing it wrong sir). Breakfast was reasonable, location of the hotel excellent for cyclists.

The stay was better than expected! Beautiful hotel! We were there for two days and the food and basically everything was delicious. What we did notice was that the swimming pool smelled a bit (something with the drain? No idea) otherwise we had a great stay.

For what it offers far too expensive! The family room was i.O.
In the restaurant we had to wait half an hour until someone served us (we were practically alone). Auxh to reorder it took an eternity.
The shower in the room was catastrophic. I couldn't wash my hair. I barely got the foam off my body. Zero pressure. I certainly don't want to write about the toilet. For a bigger business, we had to flush 15x until everything was gone. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would not book again.

The hotel is situated at a great location, just behind the hotel is the visitor center of the Schoorl dune area, with the point where all the hikes start. There is a great variety of hikes, with more forest routes, or sand dune routes. The hotel staff is friendly and really helpful. The rooms are great, and the beds are fabulous. When i go back to Schoorl i will stay at this hotel again for sure!

I have worked in a 5 star hotel myself. This hotel would be a 4 star, I give it a small 2. There are insufficient parking spaces for the number of rooms, which creates strange and dangerous parking situations and you sometimes have to park somewhere further in the village out of necessity, ( very annoying if you have difficulty walking) Upon entering, a musty smell and carpet full of large stains, bath with hair in it, toilet running through, breakfast very minimal, no fresh orange juice and after indicating that scrambled eggs, cheese and milk have run out, you can wait 15 minutes to wait. The underfloor heating, which is centrally controlled, was set to subtropical. After indicating this and the lady behind the counter nonchalantly and disinterestedly just stating that they can never do it right, our only option was to leave the sliding door open day and night. After the complaint about the hair in the bath, asking whether they have a sponge or a good cleaning cloth, the answer was; Oh no, we don't have that.(!?) However, a very nice girl came with a piece of toilet paper to get the hair out of the bath. Conclusion ; We will definitely not come back here again!

We ended up here full of happy anticipation even after looking at the menu. For dinner in the finely decorated dining room of the restaurant, we were not given the restaurant menu, but a special menu for the package we had booked. So we were not expecting "fish and chips" or burgers. Neither were spaghetti and cauliflower casserole... the "fish and chips" we ordered was the worst fish dish I have ever had in my 72 years of life. A very thin piece of pollock fillet, about 12 cm long, as dry as leather, the breading thicker than the piece of fish and the taste of fish that was no longer fresh, made it impossible for me to eat. A burger we ordered afterwards, gristly and really disgusting, led us to the conclusion that it would be better to eat somewhere else in the future. Incidentally, not a word of apology from the kitchen or a drink on the house or anything like that. The only bright spot was the lovely Polish waitress.

A poorly maintained hotel. Arrival suggests otherwise, at first glance and in the photos it looks very nice.
Hospitality at reception is poor, long wait and not at all friendly.
We had booked a luxury room, well luxury can be left out. Everything is dirty especially the carpet, terrible. Bathroom full of black mold and defects.
The beds are good but that's all that's ok. Price/quality ratio very poor, I really wouldn't book a room here again. The hotel was really not popular, most of the rooms were empty. Foreign construction workers sleep in vans in the parking lot. The number of parking spaces is minimal, full is full and at a daily rate of 7.50 euros.
The restaurant looks good, but here too there are dirty stains in the carpet and on the chairs. Restaurant staff is friendly but young and inexperienced. So no culinary experience. Price/quality of the food is below average, way too expensive for what you get. There are nice restaurants in the area where you can enjoy a pleasant and delicious meal.
The stairwell to the rooms smelled terribly of sewage and was often sprayed with air freshener.
In short, don't book a room here for a nice getaway, but look for another hotel in the area. The environment is fantastic!

What a dirty and dated 'hotel'.
Employees behind the counter weren't looking forward to it today.
Upon arrival, you may STAND in a crowded lobby until exactly 3:00 PM because you are not allowed to check in a minute earlier. Then pay for costs that were not known: €7.50 per day for parking your car.
The room smells of smoke and not only not fresh but also really dirty. Terribly dirty carpet that you don't want to walk on with bare feet. Mold, stains and dust everywhere. Very thoughtful two paper cups for a coffee machine that does not work. Price quality of breakfast is scandalous. The location of the hotel is fantastic, hence the 1 star, but I would really book a hotel room or B&B somewhere else or, if necessary, sleep under a bridge, NEVER again for us. Home with screeching tires!

Our family room was a very dark room located in the 'basement' in a corner of the hotel. Upon entering the room smelled very musty and stuffy, in one of the rooms was even a dead and dehydrated frog at the balcony door. Right next to us was a conference room hosting a workshop led by someone with a loud microphone. It continued very early the next morning. We looked out on the unkempt garden in front of the bike shed. The beds were soft and sagging with had pits in the mattresses. The sheets around the mattresses were way too small. After one turn, the sheet was rolled to the other side. There were no mattress protectors around the mattresses. Very poorly slept all in all, partly due to ambient noises. The bedroom with the double bed had no windows. Other two bedrooms had good blackout curtains which was nice because morning full in the sun.
We found the room rate to be completely different from what was offered. Poor availability for (reserved) parking spaces because everyone could pass through the barrier and it turned out that we were surrounded by very noisy foreign tourists. There was shouting from balcony to balcony very early, calling on the speaker was also very normal and even praying was loud. The rented hotel bikes were not well maintained or checked. We were given a key and a battery. My bike still had a dead battery, which I could return. When I wanted to get on I had no display so back to the reception to get it. Along the way it turned out that my tires were so flat that I drove on my rims. Luckily I saved Bergen aan Zee where a friendly gentleman from a kiosk inflated my tyres.
The only thing I actually liked about this hotel was the breakfast.

What a dirty and filthy old thing!
The hotel is quite dated, everything needs to be renovated.
Soggy beds, floor too dirty to walk on with bare feet. Showering in a very narrow bath where the shower curtain sticks to your buttocks. Hair dryer that doesn't work. The room was smelly and far too hot even though the balcony door was open. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Butts from previous guest were still in the ashtray.
Then the breakfast...meager and way too expensive. When I asked for chocolate milk for my daughter, I had to pay extra! Only tea, coffee and milk.
No tasty fresh juices.
No, despite the great location, you will never see us again here, I suddenly get itchy everywhere when I think about it
