We visited Grand Paraiso May 23-May30 2021. My husband, myself, and our 2 twentysomething kids. This was are first trip since the Pandemic. The staff was incredible! They were so attentive to our needs, friendly, and truly concerned with making it a wonderful vacation for us. The location is lovely with extremely clean facilities, a great stretch of beach, amazing food, and fun activities. The staff was very conscientious to make everything top notch. There were a nice variety of activities so everyone in the family could find things they liked to do. We it not leave the resort, because it had everything we wanted. Maria was the staff member who greeted us on our arrival and helped us get orientated to the resort. She, along with all of the staff really worked with us as individuals and our particular desires for our vacation. All of the entertainment staff of the Star Friends were great! Oscar and Carlos always made the games great fun! The servers went out of their way to be friendly and attentive!

I picked Mexico for our first post-COVID trip because of the lack of entry requirements and the fact that neither my husband nor I had been to a resort in Mexico. I enlisted the help of Ruth DeMuth through Tripguy Travel as my travel agent and she steered me towards this resort instead of Secrets Akumal that I had originally selected. I ended up spending less money, was closer to the airport, got an oceanfront room, and a private transfer. Our flight was cancelled on our travel day due to bad weather in Dallas where we were connecting. We weren’t able to get a replacement flight until the following day. Ruth spent multiple hours on the phone pushing our entire vacation I had a day so we didn’t lose out on any time and rearranging her transfers. She was invaluable and I’m so grateful to her. When we finally arrived, our private transfer for Amstar was very easy and timely. The check in process was mostly easy. There was no standing at the front desk they walked us to a table, I gave a champagne, to talk to us. This is where it got a little weird. She tried to tell us that we didn’t need to schedule a Covid test right then and that we needed to schedule an appointment with her to come back and talk to her and get our resort coupons. I knew from reading reviews that this was to be the timeshare presentation. I told her I would rather the schedule of the Covid test now and then I just didn’t show up later for that timeshare presentation. We got a golf cart ride to our room in building 71 on the top floor and our luggage was brought up for us. It was at this point that we met our brothers Adriana and Daniel. They spoke to us about our preferences and we told them we wanted things like white wine in the room, daily ice, and the temperature lowered. I don’t remember our daily activities in order so I’ll try to categorize now: Breakfast- we ate almost every morning at the Bellavista buffet. I thought it was delicious and varied. I really like all the little single serving jars and plates. It helps me with portion control so I could try more little things. There is a language barrier with some of the servers who are serving you food at the Buffay. I asked a few times with some thing was and they just stared at me or put it on my plate. But not a big deal. We did have room service breakfast one morning before an early excursion that we have planned. We hung an order form on our door the night before. It was delivered on time but the food was not hot and it honestly wasn’t very good. Lunch- We ate every day at Labrisa buffet for lunch. This was not as big as the breakfast buffet but I still thought it was a lot of choice. Lots of seafood options and interesting little desserts. There’s also a bar in there where you can order drinks. Dinners: We ate at L’Atelier, Haiku, teppenyaki, Haiku tables each once and Venetia and Toni’s each twice. The teppenyaki and Haiku tables were just ok, but the other three were great. There was a lot of seaweed at the beach that wasn’t cleaned up until the day that we were leaving but we still made use of the nice padded loungers and the beach service most days anyway. We picked loungers that were nearest the pool so that when we do get hot we could go to the pool to cool off. The pool was obviously amazing the service was good and the pool swim up bar was really nice too. We made it to the queen show, the we love pop show, and The Rock show. They were all really good. The staff and service at this resort made it what it was. They are all so grateful and happy to be serving you. I would definitely return to this resort.

We spent 7 days in this beautiful resort. We stayed 7 nights in an ocean front room on the 3rd floor. The amenities and service were top notch. We are especially thankful for the service provided by our butler team: Luis, Marco, Angel and Irmin for catering to our every need. We will definitely be back next year.

We just came back from a 4 night stay. We had an ocean front room (7115) and it was perfect! Everything is super clean and the staff is simply wonderful! I enjoyed the cocktails and food. My only suggestion is that they add at least 1 craft beer (perhaps an IPA) to the line up. While the drinks are good, we started to crave a beer and choices are not so great if you are a craft beer drinker.
