So beautiful, so clean, such friendly staff, great variety and quality of food. The accommodations for our Conference were first rate! The price was perfect. I would definitely return for a vacation!!!
We spent 6 nights at Paraiso Del Mar, stayed in beach front Building 10 from 7/7 through 7/13. The resort is enormous and a long walk from the beach to the lobby. We were so grateful for the bellman staff who carried our bags and were always nearby with a golf cart to get us to and from the lobby. Particularly outstanding was Joe - he was the first Iberostar Face we met and his kind greeting made us feel like we were at home. Joe was great with recommendations, knew all the local traffic times and made sure a cart was outside our door when it was time to check out. Also very helpful was Yanet with the Concierge desk. She made sure we had reservations for restaurants, explained all the details of the resort and answered any questions we had with a very personal touch. Bartenders were pleasant and fast, specialty restaurants also had outstanding servers and hosts. The Del Mar staff is great and made a huge difference in the quality of our stay.…
The check in was a disaster. Reception staff not pleasant. After hours waiting for our room the ac unit was not working. The room was hot and muggy. The floors and the room itself needs major upgrades. After being change to another room the key to that room stop working. The food is bland (not what I expected in Mexico). The buffet was horrible. The restaurants were mediocre. Let’s talk about the pool area. Filthy!!! I don’t think they clean the pool overnight. The whole stay was cringe worthy.
Where to start... this place is like a crappy cruise ship on land. The food is horrible (ALL THE FOOD). We did not have a single decent meal in 7 days. The drinks are laughable. 2 options for beer both on draft, no bottles or cans. The mixed drinks are not even real booze (Google it - this place was serving tainted drinks in 2017/2018 and probably back at it). The service was totally lacking. Rude staff and really inconsistent answers to basic questions. The pool was HOT not refreshing at all. The beach was crowded and never was able to get a chair after 9am. We ended up renting a car just to "escape" this place and go get real food and drinks in Tulum. There are these little animals called Coati's running around everywhere and while at first they are cute to see the property is totally infested. One day we say about 100 come through a broken fence on the north side of the property. They steal food off of plates and I saw them drinking out of the water cups. The property is HUGE and usually that would be a good thing but here its all about long hot walks. The shuttles hardly stop or you get passed by the "exclusive members only" shuttle that wont even look at you. You cannot buy bottled water at ALL - even if you wanted to pay they don't have it so you rely on their water which is drinkable but not great. The room itself was dated and the bed hard. Pillows were like 1980's child sized pillows - I laughed when we first walked in and saw them. The ONLY decent aspect of the stay was there was good water pressure and hot water in the shower. Seriously that was the highlight of 7 nights in Mexico. Oh also most of the reviews of this place are fake. Just click the "other contributions" of the reviewer and you will see they are all for Iberostar. Do yourself a favor and stay ANYWHERE but here.…
Me and a buddy took my son and 3 of his friends for a HS senior trip. I had stayed on this property 6 years prior. Lobby was clean and the staff was friendly. We had two sets of adjoining rooms close to the pool and not far from the beach, so it was a pretty great location. There is also a nice snack hut near the pool. The resort was clean and well maintained, with beautiful landscaping and abundant wildlife. The place was very clean and our rooms were maintained daily by the staff. It's a humid environment and the AC's in the rooms did little to combat this. This was my only real complaint. The pool was active during the day, with plenty of games and events. The grads loved it. They had karaoke and nightly shows there as well as a teen club, which again the grads loved. The food at the buffets was decent, but not great. Make sure you have a face mask each time you go eat or they won't serve you. Take a box of masks with you or it'll cost you $3 a mask at the store by the lobby. Ate at the Mediterranean restaurant one night and the food was good. The waiter let us order extra entrees, which gave everyone a variety of foods to choose from. There are a couple of nice bars on property with good liquor. Not sure if we were supposed to be there, but Fabian the bartender was great and appreciated the sizable tip we left for him each day. The beach was a mess with all of the seaweed, but that's mother nature for you. The resort made efforts to clean it up daily, but it is very constant this time of year. There are also a lot of nice shops on the resort as well and they have vendors there at night selling trinkets, leather goods, and local art. It's a nice place to browse after supper. Would definitely stay here again. The customer service here is very good and people are very nice, especially the cleaning staff and waiters.…
We were a group of 40 attending a wedding. Staff was not helpful. To get around hotel you must get on golf carts Staff will drive right by you. No hot water asked to switched rooms nothing was available. Staff was not there to help just to collect tips and leave you stranded
Resort is gorgeous and food was pretty good. Drinks at Del Mar are made with very cheap liquor, rooms have no drawers for clothing, and our mattress was rock hard. The pools close at 7 pm and the towel hut closes even earlier. There was hardly any nighttime entertainment which was a bummer. It felt like after 7, there was not much to do.
If you want to spend some time away from the world, this is the place to do it. Rooms with ocean view, welcome cocktails and nice Mexican folk places. Thank you Debora Concierge for the attention you gave me and your special recommendations, you are an excellent person, I hope to return soon and have your services.
Iberostar is always our go-to when we travel to Mexico. They have great food, amazing environment and excellent customer service. Our concierge Debora was amazing, going out of her way to make our vacation really enjoyable.
