Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo garners acclaim for its exceptional service, with staff members frequently going the extra mile, though a few guests note occasional room service and seating issues. The hotel's cleanliness and maintenance of both grounds and rooms earn high marks from many travelers, although there are mentions of inconsistent housekeeping. While opinions on the rooms are mixed, with some concerns about size and noise, the comfort and tidiness are appreciated. The prime location near the beach and the hotel's lush, pool-laden landscape stand out to guests. The amenities, including picturesque grounds and multiple pools, are well-received, but there are suggestions for updating the room decor and entertainment offerings. The value proposition evokes varied reactions, with some guests pointing out additional costs and pressure regarding timeshare purchases. Lastly, the atmosphere is celebrated for its lively activities and dedication to sustainability, despite some calls for a refresh in aesthetics.

We had one of the best family vacations ever at the Paraiso Lindo! We spent 6 nights in late December/early January, traveling with three children (8, 6, 2) and two grandparents. This was our first international trip all together and our first time staying at an Iberostar property. Overall, the consensus is a 10/10 and we can't wait to return!

The booking experience through the Iberostar website was relatively quick and user friendly. We booked in July and there seemed to be enough availability. We booked a 2-bedroom family which (think of two connecting rooms in a hotel) with a king in one room and two doubles in the other. On the same reservation we booked a Premium Tropical View room with a kind bed for the grandparents. I like that the full price of the room is made clear and notice that there is an extra - at the time $31.12 pesos - fee per room per night not included in that price. But nothing is due at the time of booking, you pay in total at check-in. I strongly recommend joining IHG One Rewards for a discount (it doesn't cost you anything).

Leading up to the trip, contacting Iberostar worked fine. They have an email address that you can use for requests, for example when we requested a crib for one of the rooms, or a birthday cake to prepared for our son's birthday.

Iberostar doesn't have an in-house transportation service, however, they partner with a company World to Meet (W2M) for airport transfers and some of their excursions. You book the transfer through W2M and pay online in advance. It was reasonable - $198 for roundtrip transport from Cancun airport for 7 people. The service was easy to use. A rep held a sign outside of arrivals and our ride was there in 20 minutes. It's just a 25–30-minute ride to the resort. On your return, you arrange the pick-up time with the W2M rep at the resort 24 hours before and its easy breezy lemon squeezy.

Upon arriving the resort, you sort of know it's going to be a nice vacation. The reception area is open, inviting, and the check in building smells great. Check-in can take a bit between payment and activating the room keys - it probably took 30 minutes. But it's really not bad - the kids can run around while you can hydrate with their infused waters. Your wristband has the room key one it which I thought was a good feature.

There were a couple of concerns at check in. First, the person helping us said that the room for the grandparents typically has two double beds. I distinctly remember reserving a room with a king bed, especially because so many other resorts only have the "if available" option, and I liked that with Lindo this was on the reservation so we had the assurance. However, we said the grandparents need a king and they actually found a room for them in the same building as the other two rooms, which ended up working out great. Second, I was concerned because they resort couldn't guarantee a crib for our 2 year old - they would "do their best but it's based on availability". This isn't uncommon I know although it can feel a bit uneasy. I was confident they'd find a crib for us. Unfortunately, it wasn't in our room (we did forget to confirm at the check-in desk), but we called in the request, and it was there within the hour.

The rooms themselves were perfectly fine. They were clean and fairly well maintained. We weren't expecting fancy rooms, and you shouldn't here. But they are big and our each had a balcony facing the pool area. I think the room locations were perfect and we'd request the same next visit. There is a mini bar with soda, some beers, and a can of sparkling water. We don't drink soda and wouldn't preferred there were healthier options. But they do refill what you drink every day. For water, they provide a couple of class bottles for you to fill up at the filtered water stations which are all around. The maids came every day and cleaned the rooms, we think they did a great job and are appreciative of their work.

The resort itself is really amazing. It's beautiful scenery just walking from reception to the rooms. There is so much to do at the resort. The kids obviously love all the pool options, and the beach is right there. The pool and beach are crowded, obviously, but especially at the pool we were always able to find a couple of chairs. The beach can be harder, but we always found at least one or two. The kids really liked the wave pool, and we did the lazy river, waterslide, and they have a fun area for little kids next to the slides that's like a mini water park. The beach is beautiful. The waves were pretty big when we were there but you can't control that.

When you check in (you can do this before you check in but it's a limited view), definitely recommend downloading the Iberostar App. We used it all the time for the Activity Calendar which lists all of the things happening - and there are a lot all the way from early morning to late at night. The other part of the app we found great was the room service we did a lot for the kids. The only negative UX was the laundry service.

STAR camp is really neat even though honestly our entire trip our kids spent just a few hours with them. It seems really organized and the staff are terrific. The groups are small and staff take them around doing different activities. Their indoor facilities are also fantastic but actually our kids never even went in we were just so busy do other things. No knock on the camp though, it always seemed like kids were having a great time and what a treat for those parents!

So for the food, it was actually above average I would say. We primarily ate the buffet just because it's easiest with the kids and there are so many options and it's laid back. There's something for everyone. We ate the Mexican restaurant once for dinner and the Steak House at the Maya for one dinner. They were fine. Honestly, it's more so for the change of pace, I never think the restaurant food is significantly better. We also grabbed snacks and drinks at the cafes every now and again which was really convenient. And of course, the ice cream and crepe store in the main shopping center was a nightly must-do activity.

In terms of other special activities at the resort, we did some SPA things, the photos, the character breakfast. All good/fun!

A highlight of the trip for most of us was the off-site dolphin experience. It was our first time doing this it was incredible.

We think it's important to tip staff, so we did so fairly but generously. We found out staff/providers will take pesos of course but actually prefer tips in USD. We typically left $1 USD for drinks at the bar, a $2-3 for room service, cafes, and buffet. Maybe $5 for bigger tasks. And larger tips (~$20-30) for drivers, photographer, maids, spa, etc.

We'd especially like to call out Saul, one of the resorts outstanding concierges who assisted us throughout our entire stay. He gave us his direct phone number to text him anytime and he helped us with navigating the resort, all of the activities, finding us deals, etc. We felt he really wanted us to have an enjoyable experience and he provided top notch customer service. We hope he'll be working as Paraiso Lindo for our next visit!

Except for the few minor hiccups at check-in, with our laundry service (instructions weren't all that clear and it ended up taking almost 2 days but we know how to navigate this better now), and maybe a few other small but relatively mundane things, the only other notable annoyance was The Club invitation. There's plenty out there on ze interwebs about all the timeshare scams, etc etc. We know we'd be approached so it was expected. The grandparents were invited and went on the tour with the promise for some incentives after - it was supposed to be one hour but they left after 3 hours with nothing. In the end, because of Saul (the man!) we ended up getting the incentive, but no matter the stories you hear it's always just such a bummer with these types of experiences. What bothers me most isn't actually their antics with the approach and pushiness, it's their actually contract signing process! Essentially, what happened is that the grandparents took the tour, reported everything back to me, and then I went to have a scheduled "follow-up tour" to check things out. But when I get there and the rep finds out it's just me and not our entire family, he gets suspicious, most likely because he knows that I'm not there to play games. I was more than willing to do the tour myself, but they weren't interested in giving one to me. It probably didn't help the cause that I called out their process where you can only get a copy of the contract AFTER you sign it, I think my words word "insane" - the rep didn't have a reply. I'm still not even entirely sure what "The Club" is, but I do worry about folks signing contract where they don't know what they're signing. It's just sad and frustrating. By no means did this put a damper on the trip, again mostly because you have to expect it, but experiencing it first hand is always sort of interesting.

I'm sure there are aspects that I missed but I hope this review is helpful especially for families with young kids looking for a fun break from reality in the sun!

e staff was phenomenal and made a point to make the guests feel welcomed and individually recognized. The staff made a point to provide a personalized experience for all guests! Such a fun, relaxing vacation.

Bartending: Where do I begin? All of the bartenders were phenomenal. They were funny and friendly - they always had me and my friends laughing. Emmanuel at the taco place in the shopping center made the best tequila sunrise and always had a smile on his face. Angel at the pool bar was silly and can always be count on for a good “surprise” drink. Rodrigo at the Snake Bar in the Maya made such good conversation and made even better margaritas and chocolate martinis. At the swim up bar, Elvier, Jose, and Johny always made us great drinks and made us smile. On our last day we met Abi at the swim up bar in the pool and he absolutely made the BEST frozen drinks - wish he was there throughout our vacation! Most importantly, all of them work so hard to make sure we’re having a good experience.

Restaurants: The food was great and the waiters were even better. Favorite restaurant experience was at the Mexican restaurant by the pool with Maximo! He made it fun and made sure we got everything that we wanted. Another great waiter we had was Orlando at the buffet, but honestly everyone was awesome.

Concierge: Special shout out to Ruben! Ruben came and found me and my friends every day to give us updates on what the activities were for the day, as well as checked in to make sure that we were having the best time possible. He provided an individual experience for all of us.

Entertainment: The entertainment was very good! Karen from the entertainment team was so friendly and always greeted me and my friends with a huge smile. Karen and the rest of the entertainment team went out of their way to get all guests involved and make sure everyone was having a good time.

Hotel: The housekeeping and hotel staff were awesome. Hotel staff responded to issues with the room quickly and efficiently. Housekeeping always had the room looking beautiful and surprised us with an animal made of towels every day!

The site is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly; everyone smiles and says Hola. There are 5 different resorts in the complex, meaning that there are a wide range of choices for food, recreation, pools, bars, etc. It also means that there are thousands of guests at any time.

There is an abundance of flora and fauna - beautiful trees and flowers - iguanas, coatis, birds. A great tropical experience!

We booked 8 nights here through West Jet. We were cautioned by West Jet reps to watch out for Time Share sales. On arrival at the resort, we were welcomed by the resort rep who insisted on helping us to make reservations in one of the a la carte restaurants for each night, assuring us that they fill up fast. After this she invited us to come to the Grand Hotel for a presentation about Iberostar options for future trips. We ducked out, assuming that it was a time share pitch.

Over the course of our stay we changed a few of our dinner reservations as we became better acquainted with the options. We also found that there was usually plenty of room in the a la carte restaurants. We came to assume that the purpose was to steer us toward the time share presentation.

All of the restaurants, including the buffet at breakfast, had a high noise level. I prefer quiet music or none at all with my dinner.

There were a lot of children of all ages at the resort. it looked like the Star Camp experience would be great for families with young children.

The food was generally good; with the Japanese Teppanyaki and the Thai restaurant being our favourites. The resort has a high profile commitment to environmental sustainability, reducing the use of single use plastics - bravo. They provide large refillable water bottles for your room and filtered water stations on each floor. Unfortunately, despite Dukoral I got sick.

There was live entertainment at the theatre every night, which some enjoyed. We were less enthused, since much of it was high energy rock; not our scene. Unfortunately some of our party had a room overlooking the theatre, so they heard that music every night till after 11:00.

If you are concerned about personal safety there is no concern here; with a 12 foot wall topped by razor wire, you are safely isolated from Mexico. If you are looking to experience the local culture, look elsewhere.

While we enjoyed our time here, we will likely look for a more laid back experience next time.

We just returned from Iberostar, Lindo and this was our third stay. The resort is amazing, grounds are beautiful, employees will go above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. There were some of the employees that went above and beyond:
Nestor, Veronica and Estephanie are part of concierge team. They always were, friendly, so attentive in anything that we needed, extremely friendly and made us feel as if we were the only guests.
Alan, head chef. I have many food allergies and he made sure that all my food did not have any of the those in my meals.
Isaac -beach concierge. We were fortunate to sit in the Star Prestige section which included separate bar and comfortable lounge chairs and beds. Isaac welcomed us each time we arrived, set up our towels and made sure we had everything we needed. He truly was a very hard worker and took pride in everything he did.
The maid service was over the top the rooms are cleaned daily and they feel like the first day we checked in.
These employees all went above and beyond and Iberostar should be proud and lucky to have such great employees

Iberostar Paraiso Lindo is a great resort.

The room was clean, up to date, quiet. There was a crib for our baby and our 3 year old slept on the sofa bed. The housekeeping was phenomenal considering we were a family of four. We went through towels and sheets and toilet paper and filled the garbage with diapers every day. The housekeeper always cleaned our room during the short period of time while we were at breakfast so we could come back and let our baby take her morning nap in the room. Much appreciated.
I was worried about availability of restaurant reservations but we had no problems booking reservations for the time we wanted at a different restaurant every night of our stay. The food was excellent everywhere. I also really liked that most of the bars had espresso and cappuccino machines so you could get espresso at all the breakfast buffets.
The beach was beautiful. The water varied from calm to rough from one day to the next. Only one day it was too rough for my 3 year old to go in.
It's a very big resort but it never felt crowded. And it was pretty easy to get around on foot. They do have golf cart shuttles you can take but we rarely used them.
The grounds are impeccable and there is plenty of wildlife to spot (iguana, peacock, coati, aguti).
Plus the resort is not even 30 mins from Cancun airport.
We will definitely come back again.

. Our experience started with an awesome welcome drink (lemonade with a native leaf) in a very fragrant main lobby. We were then greeted by our Concierge Yanet. Yanet was AMAZING. She was so friendly, helpful and truly our go to for our entire trip. Yanet deserves a raise. Everyone at the resort is so friendly and helpful. Every staff member that passes you says hello. Every waitress makes sure you have a drink. At the pool bar Jhonny was our go to guy. He was so nice, so happy, so friendly and attentive always making sure to make us feel like we were the only ones there. These guys work so hard. I would say the least friendly staff was Star Cafe. I always felt like I was putting them out and was afraid to order anything. Our room was nice, my only complaint is that the safe kept shutting off, even after having it maintenance twice by security it was manually locked when we were out of the room and we had to call to get it unlocked to get our passport and not miss our shuttle to the airport. The fridge was not cold at all, when you come back on a hot humid day and want a cold drink, it just was not an option with the fridge. My suggestion would be to take it out of the decorative cupboard so it has proper ventilation and actually stays cold. Also, PLEASE offer better beer. Seriously, all I wanted was a light refreshing beer and had to spend $5 a corona light at the little store. Big bummer. Above all it was an amazing trip, we will certainly recommend to family and friends.

As this was our third trip to this resort we knew we would enjoy ourselves especially since we were bringing our 9 year old grand daughter. This resort has an amazing Kids club with a newer facility built just for kids. The staff at the Club are great and keep the kids occupied for as long as you wish to leave them(9:30 a.m. till 10:00 P.M. They have all kinds of activities for the kids including beach time and rehearsing for the nightly show. For adults there is always something to do or just relax on the beach or pool side.Food and drinks are plentiful and the addition of the 24hr coffee bar was great. The buffet was always good with lots of selections. The rooms are kept clean and any problems seem to be attended to quickly by courteous staff. There is a wide selection of rooms as the resort is elongated like most resorts. The higher number on the room blocks are closer to the lobby and buffet and the lower number (Building 50 or 51) are closer to the beach.Like most resorts when it is busy there never seems to be enough loungers beach or pool but we always managed to find some.Outside the front lobby area there is a small shopping area that has a drug store as well as some souvenir shops. Also a taco, burger and ice cream shop,as well as a bar, mini casino and a disco. This trip was as good as any we have had and really enjoyed the beautiful beach including in the water which had as much sand and hardly any rocks or seaweed. The only problem happened at the beach where my wife cut her leg on the side of a lounger. The staff were right there and took care of her cut and brought us to their first aid station. We would go back to this resort with no hesitation although they were renovating one their restaurants right beside our room and we would have preferred being told before we checked into this room.We stayed because of the close access to the beach and shuttle that runs the length of the property.

We stayed for 8 days. We booked two rooms for 2 couples. When we booked, we upgraded to pool view, and they gave us garden view, stating they needed to do that because we wanted our rooms closer together. One of our rooms had a bad smell, so they upgraded to a pool view and had to pay extra money for the room - it was just as close to ours as their first room, so I'm not sure why they paid more - unless it's because they got a jacuzzi. I wasn't happy that they just sort of glossed over the fact that they didn't give us the room we paid for, but I wasn't there to be stressed, I was there to relax.

Our room was average, not outstanding, not horrible, but not as nice as some other resorts. It really just needs to be updated.

The food was mostly very good. We liked the Italian restaurant, the Japanese Steakhouse, and the regular steakhouse. The American Grill and Mexican places were not so good. The burgers on the beach for lunch were hit or miss. The tacos and nachos on the beach were great, but the pizza in the Italian restaurant that was served at lunchtime was amazing!! A downside to eating on the beach is the number of birds and other Fauna that are all over the place trying to get food from people. If so many people weren't feeding them, they'd probably go away.

Resort Staff. I have been to many resorts in my years of travel and I will say that 99% of the staff at this resort were extremely friendly, helpful, thoughtful, informative, and just very nice to be around. They definitely made our stay pleasant and I think the resort should give them all a bonus! They are all very lovely!

Room service: Room service doesn't start until 11 am, so no breakfast.

My strangest ordeal was that there was no coffee in the room, so we called room service for coffee and the brought us a coffee pot, coffee, and sugar. (They don't have any type of creamer to give you, luckily I always take my own powdered Sugar Free Coffee Mate creamer) Now, although we used the coffee pot every morning and room service cleaned our cups every day, they never replaced our coffee. We had to call room service every time we ran out of coffee. That was very annoying! I think that you need to add creamer to your list of items for guests and once a guest has a coffee maker, the housekeeping staff should be able to refill coffee and sugar as needed.

Saving the best for last: The beach is gorgeous! Clear Water, White Sand, not all the rocks and reef like at some other resorts. LOVE!

Food is on the scale of Cracker Barrel stay with the buffets you wont be disappointed.
The golf course was great , well kept great greens .
Big hitter will be happy from the tips.

Just returned from a week at this great resort. From start to finish, the service and amenities were top notch. We arrived very late on Friday night and as we were checking in, the front desk clerk asked if we were hungry. We were, and he arranged room service, including a nice bottle of red wine. The water in the pools are on the cool side as others have pointed out, but who wants to get into a warm pool when it is 30°C? There is no shortage of places to eat at this resort, 24 hours a day and the coffee in the Starcafes is excellent. The variety and quality of food on the buffets is well above average. Do not overlook the Taco restaurant and the Creperie in the shopping area! While you are there, treat yourself to some fresh candy from the candy bar. The beach at Paraiso is great - soft sand with little to no seaweed. There are a few large rocks visible in a couple of spots but doesn't take away from this great beach. Although we do not have young kids, we did notice that the staff at the kids Starcamp were awesome with their charges - taking them to lunch and supper at the buffet restaurants, leading us to believe that the kids were having so much fun, that they didn't want to leave the camp to be with their parents. We were in building 53 which is smack in the middle of the resort, about equidistant from the beach and lobby. There was some reserving of loungers going on but to be honest, there are so many, at both the beach and the pool, finding a spot was never difficult. What really makes this resort special, though is the people. All the employees, from the reception staff to the bartenders to the maids to the groundskeepers will all have a smile and a greeting for you.

We were there a few weeks ago and while we were there this policy was changing. I believe that over the course of the week we were there and the following week all restaurants we eliminating reservations completely so at this point I believe you cannot make reservations for any. And while that may sound potentially problematic, we did not have any trouble getting into any restaurant we wanted to eat at which did not require a reservation. On a side note, the resort was immaculate and very well run. Staff were all amazing. Have fun!

When we arrived, check in was super quick (no lineups at all). We then walked right past the reservations desk and reserved for the whole week. The a la cartes were absolutely awesome and we ate at 6 different ones. You may not get each exact time and date you want but we found we did what we wanted. But be organized, know what you want and they will try to be as helpful as possible. In addition, take the walk up to the north end and eat at the taco and burger place for lunch. Excellent food, worth the walk. Enjoy - we loved it there.
