The most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on. The hotel is basic but the bed was so comfy!!. Clean tidy room. Budget price and excellent price. Went to nearby Waitrose for breakfast. Large screen TV in room which was great.

Fast check in. The whole hotel appeared clean and well looked after as you would expect from Premier Inn. Room was spacious and clean. Good Beefeater next door, good selection of food and helpful staff.
Wi-Fi was poor and I question the speed of the upgrade “Ultimate” version at £5 for 24hrs. I gave up and stuck with my 4G.
The tables at each side of the bed are great but only one side had a power socket. Seems bonkers to me and made having a phone beside me charging overnight an impossibility. See photo.
The fan in the en-suite stayed on at low speed even with the light off and the door shut.
Great stay. Negatives easy to fix.

Stayed here for one night to explore the area. Plenty of free car parking and good location in that everything around is walkable. Beefeater beside the premier inn for food as well as Waitrose, McDonalds and other lovely cafes and restaurants in the town itself. Close by to the start of the west highland way and was obvious from the amount of people staying here with hiking boots on that it’s mainly used by people as part of the walk. The room itself was fine and had a bath and a window that opened. Only down side was no mobile signal for our phone unless we hung out the window. The staff were all noticeably friendly and helpful. We only ate breakfast at the beefeater in the morning and it was nice and freshly cooked. Standard premier inn food. We didn’t have a meal deal this time as the menu is never changing very much especially if you don’t eat meat. There is also a bus stop at the entrance to the car park that would take you into Glasgow or train station is walkable too. Surrounding area was surprisingly hilly but plenty to see. Good choice if not too expensive.

Starting to show signs of age, even for a premier inn,
Heating in restaurant was broken No cooked breakfast available on first day - continental breakfast alternative was petty dire (ended up with just 4 slices of toast for £9!
Bathroom needed a good cleanout - sealant going on the bath, shower head needed a clean, and did none of the staff think the soap dispenser could do with replacing ?

The property is located on the southern outskirts of the town of Milngavie, which itself is north of Glasgow (about 7 miles separate it from George Square in the centre of Glasgow, if you travel by car, but just over half a mile away on foot is the train station); it looks like a long but low building (on three levels) side by side, but separate, from the one used as a restaurant/breakfast room, with ample parking around. The common areas are practically non-existent: a small reception as soon as you enter and then immediately begins the corridor of the rooms. The property could use a freshen up but our room was put quite well and the bathroom then was new. Spacious (the one we were assigned was potentially a quadruple) but with a double bed that seemed smaller than the standard size and higher than normal (however comfortable); there were two bedside tables, a long desk with above, attached to the wall, a large TV, a chair and, instead of the closet, a small cabinet open on two sides with five exposed crutches and a mirror on the closed side. Blind bathroom of sufficient size with the usual bathtub (so common here in Scotland) on which was installed a high gargoyle, not adjustable, and to cover the sketches instead of a partially resealable glass was used the cheaper, and unpleasant, curtain; there is no support for the face towel and there are no electrical outlets: the hairdryer is in fact located on a shelf, between the entrance to the room and the aforementioned cabinet. Several electrical outlets in the bedroom. There is no safe, no mini-bar, no air conditioning (there is a fan). Our room overlooked the parking lot, so the view obviously leaves something to be desired, but at least there are no external noises to disturb; what is lacking, as I have often found in other hotels, is the soundproofing towards the other rooms. For breakfast, which you pay separately, you can choose the continental or the full English; normally the continental is sufficient, being quite complete (choice of various hot drinks, fruits, cereals of different kinds, yogurt, juices, croissants and muffins, bread and pancakes, jams); certainly it is uncomfortable to have to go outside to reach the breakfast room. Ultimately it is a structure that is good for one or two nights, especially if you are passing by car, bearing the small inconveniences set out above against an overall low price for Scotland.

The hotel was fine, even if the lift was out of order. Receptionist was friendly and very efficient. BUT the evening meal choice was appalling at best. There were no pizzas as the kitchen did not have a pizza oven! There was no steak nor steak and ale pie nor fish nor coleslaw!
The icing on the cake was the drinks choice - I asked for a bitter shandy but was given a mixture of Guinness and lemonade! The server informed me that they were trained to serve this! After the meal we asked for a couple of Scotch's only the be told they had sold out of the ONLY Scotch whisky they had in the building! APPALLING!
The breakfast much to our surprise was first rate in all respects.

free parking, friendly staff on check in. Room clean. Restaurant terrible for evening… it was soooo cold that I had to take my food to my room. The AC was blowing hard and it’s not even hot outside. Apparently it takes a while before the heating kicks in. In the end I couldn’t wait in the restaurant anymore so moved to the bar area to wait for my food. You have to book for the evening meal as they are short staffed and can only handle so many orders at a time. Restaurant is for hotel guests only but used to be a beefeater so expect the premier inn evening menu! I also want to point out it was freezing at breakfast too. Don’t know what’s wrong with this place but I’ve never had to sit in my coat to enjoy breakfast or dinner and still feel cold! This is not ok. Guessing it’s either closing down or they are changing it into more rooms? I ordered the pizza for the one night I chose to eat an evening meal and that’s why I didn’t eat here again… the pizza was still very raw in the base and shouldn’t of left the kitchen. I left it and walked out as no staff around to check in with.

The reception and general demeanour of the hotel was very grotty and there was a general smell like the hotel needed a good clean. In the room, it was very rundown, everything was bashed or chipped or had water damage with an overall sticky feeling. The room was unbearably hot with no way of cooling it down. My son and I had a terrible night stay. When I went to make a cup of tea with the tea making facilities I was nearly sick with the condition in the kettle. Totally full of brown gunk, not limescale. My son and I couldn’t have a nice cup of tea which is basic hotelier basics. I always thought booking with Premier Inn was a safe pair of hands but we were seriously let down on this occasion. Will warn others to think twice before booking.

Have chosen to stay Premier Inn Milngavie many a time being just outside the city , free parking and a great restaurant/ pub on site but now that the restaurant is presently under changes , some permanent, it is no longer attracting us. No fault with the hotel as standards and cleanliness has remained but here are some of the changes and poor service of the ex Beefeater. Guests only as no longer a public restaurant or bar which was thriving at one time with guests , guests visitors and public. Since the changes we have visited early Dec and now presently staying again. Only half the tables being used leaving empty areas. Long service staff took redundancies so now less staff always under training. Breakfast Jan 1st only one ‘chef’ who again was training and just couldn’t cope eventually after waiting an hour during which many left we were eventually told sorry no more breakfast being served. Just couldn’t cope eventually after, really no fry ups prepared in advance so all cooked to order , couldn’t get requests correct , sole waiter didn’t have a clue what table the food was going to - going round at least 3 wrong tables. When leaving after being told no more being served loads of plates lined up on serving counter which staff ended taking nibbles from different plates. Offered refund but we hadn’t paid in advance anyway. No further compensation for next day etc so next morning we just popped along to nearby McDonald’s and we will continue doing for the next week. They have also lost our custom for the odd evening meal. Don’t know why the brewers changed something that was working well for many years. Tbh don’t think we will be booking Premier Milngavie again. Don’t think anything has changed with the Premier Bearsden, couple of hundred yards away as it’s operated by Green King - not Dryburgh so might try it. A shame.

Booked through the app and then contacted the hotel directly to make a special request for the room. The lady who answered the phone was very helpful and added my request to the booking. When we arrived every single person we spoke to was friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we were happy with every part of the stay. The room was spotlessly clean and quiet and even had an opening window which is unusual these days. My only negative is the very heavy duvet - please Premier Inn add lighter duvets to your rooms. We are heading to London soon and I hope the PI there is as good as the Milngavie one. Thank you to all the staff who work hard to make this a great place to stay.

I would take a train from Glasgow queen street station in the city centre to Millngavie. It takes 23 minutes and costs £3.90 for a single. 15 minute walk to the hotel from the station or probably 5 minutes in a taxi. Hope this helps
