Barcarola Club Hotel emerges as a tranquil retreat with its modern amenities and clean, well-kept facilities, particularly earning accolades for its pool and breakfast offerings. While the rooms are praised for their cleanliness and maintenance, some guests suggest they could be more spacious and quieter. The location is a highlight, offering easy access to local attractions and transportation.
Service at the hotel is generally commended, especially the breakfast and attentive staff, though there's room for improvement. However, opinions on value are mixed, with some concerns about the basic accommodations and hard mattresses.

Detailed Reviews
Had a week here solo in January and enjoyed it greatly. The location was good, just off the bustling strip but at the quieter end just before the start of Los Pocillos. All amenities are on the doorstep, shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, a beach just across the road and a bus stop for most parts of the island just 50m away.
The place itself is a series of blocks of apartments, probably around 6-8 in each block over two floorsand set out around the centre of the complex which houses reception, restaurant/bar and pool. All very nice. The apartments are well fitted out with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/diner/lounge area leading out onto the balcony. A little dated but perfectly fine. I saw three different ones, all good, I would just say try to avoid blocks A to E if possible because some appartments face out to the back of the bars/restaurants so smells/noise from extractor fans can be an issue, also possible bar noise up to midnight. If you are in a pool facing apartments in these blocks its better.
The staff here were superb, every person I saw from reception, breakfast staff, maids, grounds staff were cheerful, helpful and friendly.
I would recommend and definitely return. Whats not to like about being able to head out at 1030 wearing shorts with temperatures already 17/18 deg going up to 20/21.
Only downside was going with Tui, apart from the airport arrival absolutely no contact with them, no welcome meeting, no phone call, nothing.

We stayed at the Barcarola Club for nine nights in October 21. The complex right on the beachroad amidst of a lot of restaurants and shops, but an oasis of quiet once you are on the grounds, We had one of the renovated apartments, renovations were still under way, but no noise or nuisance at all. The spacious apartment has a living room, with the possibility of one extra person sleeping on the sofa(bed). The kitchen is basically equipped, but could definitely be used for self-catering. The bedroom has excellent boxspring beds and a large cupboard. Spacious bathroom, with a large walk-in rain shower with enormous water pressure. Amenities are a very small piece of soap and a bag of shower gel and shampoo that didn’t get replenished. That is too thrifty for a hotel of this price level. The apartments are spotless and serviced every day.
The swimming pool had enough lounge beds, but even then people ‘reserve’ these early in the morning. As it was low season this wasn’t necessary, but when the complex is full, there is not enough space for everyone. On the other hand, the concept of reserving a bed with four clothespins and only using it 6 hours later is beyond me anyhow. Even more: people accepting this.
Breakfast is extensive with Nespresso coffee, plenty of fruit, vegetables and eggs made to order. All staff at the front office, cleaning ladies and at breakfast are friendly and helpful.
Conclusion: an excellent hotel for a relaxed holiday. Recommended.

We have holidayed in Lanzarote for a good few years now and in Puerta Del Carmen in particular.
There was nothing wrong with our usual hotel but thought we would try a different hotel this year, checked out several reviews of different hotels and noticed the very good reviews on the Barcarola Club.
I must say we were not disappointed.
We stayed in a Premium one bedroom apartment which was very nice indeed.
No welcome pack as advertised( water and fruit) but there were Dulce Gusto coffee pods supplied, also bath robes and slippers, air con in bedroom and living area, illuminated wardrobe and security safe at no extra charge.
Bathroom had twin basins and a very efficient waterfall shower.
There is a fridge but no freezer so no ice cubes for a refreshing drink. (I’ve just read a later review and an ice maker near the shower room is available, we didn’t spot that at all)
Lovely pool area and jacuzzi, very much required during our stay, very hot, nice breeze, at end of Sept and start of Oct, as mentioned in previous reviews, no problems obtaining a sun lounger.
Gardens are well maintained with various specimens of trees and bushes, not just all palm trees, and don’t forget to check out the Terrapin pool.
All staff that you encounter will give you a smile and an Ola, the rooms were cleaned and towels changed as necessary nearly every day, pool towels are also supplied.
Breakfast was included on our stay and is in a modern, nicely designed dining area.
Buffet style, cereal, fruit , muesli, cheeses, croissants, cake, juice, tea, coffee and bacon, egg freshly cooked, and can request omelette too.
Location is good, out the gate and onto main strip but really peaceful in actual premises.
The gate is locked at 23:00 but you can easily gain access with your pass.
We had a late pick up, 18:35 so had checked with reception about keeping room until at least 18:00 and were told to check with reception on day of departure as it depends on how busy the hotel is if this can be accommodated.
This we did and were able to retain our apartment until 18:00 for €50 which suited us ok.
We will return to PDC soon and will definitely book Barcarolla again.

The apartments are very spacious and have everything you need, although we were in quite a dated complex, hairdryer a waste of time, beds very hard and 2 singles pushed together. Location is the best thing about the hotel, right on to the main strip of bars and restaurants with nowhere being far to walk. Breakfast was adequate, many times milk wasn’t being refilled, plates not cleared by staff so they just stacked up whilst you ate. Also slightly disappointed at the reception service as they appear very cold and don’t even ask how your stay was at the end of your visit, really lacking basic customer service skills, I asked a question one time and the receptionist spoke to me like I was stupid. The pool area doesn’t have much atmosphere, but I guess that caters to the elderly clientele who stay here. Bar around the pool very expensive, you’re better off buying drinks yourself. Despite the negatives, our stay was pleasant enough, the turtles are very nice to look at in the pond at the front of the complex. We were able to use the laundry room to freshen up for a late flight, albeit you’d want to wear shoes in the shower it’s a bit dingy in there. Overall an okay base to explore puerto del carmen.

This is an oasis of calm in the centre of PDC, surrounded by a wealth of excellent restaurants. The total silence at night, and the peacefulness during the day around the pool, are very relaxing. We were in Block F in a ground floor room which has just been renovated, and attracts a (modest) premium supplement which is definitely worth the cost. It has sun on the private patio virtually all day, and certainly until dusk. I can’t find fault with this complex - if I had to nitpick I’d say that changing the towels every other day, and the sheets almost as frequently, is a little OTT in these environmentally conscious times. There is a good lounge, coffee machine, kettle, fridge and basic hob (microwave if requested). The beds are thick memory foam and very comfy. The waterfall shower has lots of hot water and is divine. The rooms are cleaned daily.
Breakfast caters for both British/Irish and continental tastes and is very good.
As with other posts, I recommend upgrading and getting a room around the pool. Although there was a young child here in our second week, I’m not sure that this is the right venue for them - we wouldn’t want to bring our grandchildren here as the pool isn’t suitable and there’s nowhere really for them to run around.

Stayed one week, it’s a 10/15 min transfer from the airport, there’s a taxi rank outside the entrance but if coming on bus , the bus stop is 400m or so past the entrance. The Club is set on Av de Playa the main beach road ,amongst many bars ,shops and restaurants, but there is a gated entrance and once you walk through it ,it’s another world, a tranquil oasis. The grounds are lovely, well maintained with lots of greenery. Accommodation is set around a large pool ( with jacuzzi) and poolside bar. Plenty of loungers and 4 cabin/shelters. Large breakfast room and breakfast was excellent. Really good cold choice and a cook behind the counter keeping the hot food coming.
We had a premium room, 1 bed, and we were advised it was new.Well equipped with kitchen equipment, crockery, cups, glasses, knives forks etc, kettle, fridge hob. Large shower room/toilet, lounge area had big TV but didn’t use this as in only had 20 channels only English one was BBC news, rest in Spanish and German.
Big bedroom , only let down was it had no door! Open plan but not ideal if one wants bed and one stays up !
Towels changed daily and room cleaned daily.
Our room B5 had a balcony overlooking the main road. This might put some off but whilst it’s a main road it’s a one track one way road with not a lot of traffic on it.( Despite being on front ,once balcony doors shut there was no noise coming in ) It had a sea view. Great for people watching and soaking in the atmosphere.
Room was on 1st floor and for 1st floor rooms there are no lifts.
Location is excellent. Come out main gates and over the road is the sea with several bars overlooking it and beach access 400m away.
The Italian by the main gate was excellent and gives 10% discount to Barcarola residents.
In summary a great place to stay in terms of location,on site facilities and quality of accommodation.

Only booked in for a couple of days
Booked via booking.com booked a standard room but we upgraded for a cost of £30 a night to a refurbished apartment
Apartment was great. Really clean and comfortable
We stayed B&B although the breakfast was small there was enough choice and the food was always hot.
Staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Pool area was spaced out and enough sun beds to go around
Location fantastic walk out the door and your on the seafront
Would definitely stay again

Pros:
Overall, the place was clean and tidy and in a good location. The breakfast was great. We opted for a premium room which was lovely and well equipped.
Cons:
The maids clearly do a good job of changing over the rooms but it’s not ideal to be woken up each morning by the sound of beds and furniture being dragged about.
The past 4 days of the holiday, the water wasn’t working properly. We had no hot water for 4 days. Someone came to look at this and said it was because it was a busy time to shower. The last 2 days there was no hot water at all and the water was brown - disgusting.
Our airport pick up time was 6:30pm so we asked to keep the room on later to shower (if they fixed the water) and nap due to our late flight and early rise (from the banging about). They said they were full but then explained that there was someone coming to each room to look at the water. It appears that they are more interested in getting it sorted for the next guests as opposed to accommodating us.

Dear JadeMP22, thank you some of your words concerning our complex. We have a problem with the hot water but not during 4 days. You said: "....We had no hot water for 4 days.......The last 2 days there was no hot water at all and the water was brown - disgusting. ..." We don´t understand,,,, How many days without hot water?? We have had a problem with the hot water because we had a breakdown in the general hot water pipe. it was repaired and when we turned on the water with the pressure, it broke again on the other side and was repaired again. When we turn the water off and on, the pressure causes it to carry dust that is in the general piping and we have to let the water run a little until it comes out clean. That shows the video that you brought to the reception desk demanding with that video to make a late check out. You could not make a late check out because we are in high season and the hotel is full. New guests were already waiting at the front desk to occupy that apartment and for no other reason. We offer all our late check out guests a complimentary room to take a shower and that is what happened to you. Wherever you are on vacation, we advise you to please go to the reception desk so that the maids do not clean the room next door so early. In all hotels we work very hard for our guests to enjoy their vacations, but if we don´t know that you are a guest with a light sleep and that you wake up late, we can not help you. We can start working on the other side of the hotel but we need to know. Best regards Celia Espino Manageress

Booked through Jet2 Holidays, the star rating was spot on. Welcomed with a smile and a simple and straight forward check in at reception. We were given a map that directed us to our first floor upgraded apartment situated in block E3 which had two sun drenched balconies. The interior was spotlessly clean (although the bathroom was clean, its decor needed improving) the living and kitchen area had a good range of facilities to support our 4 night stay with coffee and water provided, however no tea!! All staff were friendly and helpful through out the complex. The breakfast area was busy at times, but the staff were very efficient and kept the area clean and ensured all the food stations remained topped up with a wide range of cooked and cold buffet style food. The pool area had sufficient numbers of sun loungers and the pool temperature was maintained at a good level throughout the day. The pool bar served food and drinks all day and prices were as good as in nearby bars. The whole complex was kept spotlessly clean and secure through a key card system for access to our room and entrance gate. The area had a good positive vibe and was tranquil through out. The complex location was great, a wide range of quality bars and restaurants including a taxi rank and local bus stop was in easy reach.

We stayed in a premuim apartment which was def worth the extra money we wouldnt book any other. These had pool towels, dressing gowns,slippers,his/hers sinks, walk in shower ,coffee machine, flat screen tv and sunny terrace. The breakfast catered for all and was made fresh, table set out and you are shown to your table, lovely and clean , reception staff very helpful as were all the staff in the dining room. Maids came everyday clean towels and anything else needed, they were very friendly. This is the only place we will be staying from now on.
