Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The moment we arrived it looked like it was not worth staying, writing on door in a vivid with new owner number not even very nicely written. Finally got of someone was told where to park enter camp and I said to my husband we aren't staying it was disgusting muddy wet rude non helpful place. I drove straight out. So my advice don't stop here.

My family tried staying here and found the facilities to be the worst in all our NZ stays. Cold abolition blocks. No heating in the kitchen and mouldy toilet walls with a crappy shower. The owner was rude and a general smartass and place was very overpriced. Basically, just go across the road to the town and country club park. Much better, so much better experience!

My father was a long-term tenant at this motorcamp, renting a site for his caravan. When he moved into alternative accommodation he paid a final two weeks rent for his caravan site, but ended up moving out after only one week. The caravan was removed from the site, but some possessions were left on the site - which he had paid rent for, until the next week. When we went back later in the week to collect the belongings (before the rental period paid for expired) we discovered Guy Lloyd had taken them. Guy admitted to this. My father asked for them back, and was refused. My father then asked for the extra rent he had paid to be refunded, which was also refused. Guy tried to claim that my father had cost him money, because someone wanted to rent that site (that my father had paid for, for another week) and couldn't because of my father's belongings. Why does Guy think he can rent out a site that is already rented out? Furthermore, why does he think he has the right to touch someone's belongings, that are sitting on a site that has been paid for? The belongings had not been abandoned - rent had been paid for that site. A very disappointing end to what had been an otherwise happy enough stay.

Not modern, not new, but clean comfortable facilities. Stayed in a powered site which was close to the facilities and plenty of room to manoeuvre a large campervan. Walking distance to the restaurants and bars. The manager was cheerful.

An older style caravan park but plenty of space and a very humorous and welcoming owner who gave us a discount on the cabin . The cabin was large and had everything inside, very clean and and not joined on to the neighbors . Not far too walk to the town down one road. Good stop over very quiet and friendly .

Stayed here and found it perfect for my needs with 11 metres campervan and trailer. Plenty of room. Easy access for dump station and water. Facilities are dated but clean. Guy running the place a bit of a laugh. Would stay again.

LJ, the camp manager, greeted us with a friendly smile and a chatted about the area, filming and music. LJ was a musician (so am I) and I am in the filming business. The facilities are quite adequate albeit a little older for the campground but still very functional. Its a larger block 5 minutes from the town centre with large mature trees and well kept grounds. He was very relaxed at how long or short we stayed and let us leave our caravan onsite for the day, even though we had officially checked out, while we went ice skating at the local rink. The camp ground has a mix of motel units, powered and non powered campsites along with long term tenants. We stayed with our grand daughter in our caravan in the mid January 2019 period. The campgrounds were quiet with made the stay even more pleasant. A big bonus was the free wifi internet included with the tariff. No cap all you can eat. A definite advantage compared with other camp grounds. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely go back.

Nice, quiet campground. The facilities are dated, but they function well, are well serviced and clean. There are lots of short walks in the area, and some longer ones within a few minutes drive. If you enjoy quiet walking tracks and secluded beaches close to Christchurch, head here.

We have often stayed at this camp park over a number of years. We find that it is a spacious park that is centrally located in Gore. It is within walking distance of the main shopping centre and is close to sporting clubs, sporting venues and the Gore Show Grounds. The park itself has a number of modest buildings that include basic cabins, 2 larger self contained units, kitchen, toilets, laundry etc. People should bare in mind that this is budget accommodation charged at a very reasonable rate. It is not 5 star accommodation. We find it excellent value and enjoy staying here. The owner/manager is known as LJ and we find him very co-operative and obliging. Gore is a lovely rural country town with good facilities.

Thanks for your review and may I say its always a pleasure to have you staying here. I totally agree with your comments and always enjoy the Oz/Kiwi banter . Im always amazed how you are able to enjoy your fishing even when the river is high as I know you go further a-field in pursuit of those slippery things called brown trout. Hopefully the weather will be kinder on your next visit in February. Have a great Christmas and New Year and a safe flight across the ditch.
