We really enjoyed our night at the property. We’d never been to Gore before, so the elevation overlooking town was awesome - it showed the town off beautifully. The property is new and beautifully presented inside and out. There were lots of places to sit and enjoy the evening. There were also a couple of talkative cockatoo to visit with as well as a giant Flemish rabbit. Jayne and Bruce were perfect hosts. They both greeted us and then Jayne showed us where everything was. They then left us alone to enjoy our evening. The next morning at breakfast, we loved talking with the two of them. A perfect stay!
Flooding caused our family to change travel plans and we found ourselves looking for accomodation for a night in Gore. We were so lucky to happen upon The Reservation! We pulled up to their beautiful B n B and were astounded by the little paradise they have created with a stunning outdoor area, heaps of animals and the most comfortable and beautifully presented rooms. Jayne was instantly lovely and made up a box of toys for our one year old which was a god-send. In the evening we got to enjoy cups of tea and the chance to read our books in the guest lounge while bubba slept. In the morning over breakfast Bruce used his navigational expertise to find us a route up north avoiding the floods and road blocks. These hosts go above and beyond for their guests. Highly recommend and would love to come back.…
We had the pleasure of staying at The Reservation over Christmas and wow! What a location! Peaceful up on top of the hill, clean tidy and the perfect spot for a family vacation (5 rooms heaps of space ) or if I am going for a quiet weekend with my partner it’s just as easy to book private room. Had everything we needed and more just turn up with your food and you are ready to go. A must stop on any South Island trip and Jayne and Bruce are fantastic hosts. Highly recommend
A very pleasant B&B and a good value. Good rooms (everything works), very clean an pleasant. Great breakfast. Nicest possible hosts that are a pleasure to talk to, brilliant views - and lots of animals. Twenty-odd chihuahuas, four alpacas, two outlandish hens, some goats - and a 56YO talking parrot! I’ll be back for sure!
Lovely location, excellent hospitality, very clean and lovely beds and accessories in the room. Great views from the rooms with high glass doors and private as well. Wonderful poddy animals in the front paddocks as you drive in as well. This place has it all, right down the the lovely handmade rhubarb for breakfast, to an awesome outside bar and fireplace. It overlooks the town of gore. Perched in a top spot. Well done guys, you have created a bit of paradise there. Will be back.
