Detailed Reviews
This beautiful hotel is hidden behind high walls and shrubbery on a relatively busy street. The walls and setback from the street are more than sufficient to dampen any noise. We arrived early from a series of appointments, but the staff made us more than comfortable while they finished cleaning our room.
The room was of ample size, had a lovely private patio and was pleasantly furnished. It was near the dining room and kitchen, but there was never a hint of noise or cooking aroma. Dinner was more than superb, and the wine list was outstanding, even for a restaurant in Bordeaux.
We had to have an early breakfast to go to another appointment, but even though we entered the dining room precisely at the opening, it was fully staffed and ready to serve. Had we been able to stay longer, we would have taken advantage of the tram system which runs outside the hotel and takes one conveniently to the center of the city.

My wife and I spent 6 nights at the end of March on the recommendation of Viking Cruise lines. The staff was absolutely wonderful and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The owner also personally checked on us frequently to ensure we had everything we needed. The chef's meals were excellently prepared and presented as well as delicious. The property is very nicely decorated and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. If you are looking for a place to stay in Bordeaux, this is a great option to choose and will be the only place we stay on future trips to the region.

My stay here was idyllic. Everything really was perfect for me and I was able to switch off completely and feel 100% relaxed and in comfort. The hotel was so peaceful and the bed so comfortable that I slept right through breakfast one day. Apart from the soothing ding of the tram.
The proximity to the tram was perfect for accessing the town, the railway station and the airport. I absolutely loved Bordeaux too. The staff were friendly and ready to help. Breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed fresh orange juice, exotic fruits with granola and an omelette with freshly baked bread every day. I liked the touch of fresh water in the room. I enjoyed my swims in the pool. Although I did not eat in the restaurant I could see that there was a great ambiance there and it was always buzzing with happy people in the evenings, in it's great setting around the pool. The only thing missing for me was the option to make decaf coffee in the room. I may well go back again next time I visit.

Charming and beautifully remodeled hotel with fabulous furnishings and fabrics. Rooms are decorated and very comfortable. Wonderful bathrooms, too! Service was great with lots of suggestions for first time visitors to Bordeaux. And, the tram is directly in front and only 4 t stops into center👍👍

+1
There’s a saying about “lemons” to “lemonade” When our long-anticipated cruise turned into a different kind of time spent in Bordeaux, we were thrilled to have “found” a relatively newly opened GEM of an *awesome* hotel.
The Maison Pavlov is NOT a chain hotel! It has only 8 rooms, and my goodness but they are not at all your standard room! The photos I’m posting don’t do the hotel justice - but my breath was truly taken away - from the round, lighted bathroom mirror, to the motorized open Pavilion ceiling to the private courtyard: all I could say was, “WOW!”
The on-site restaurant is lively, charming, and yet personal. Delicious, healthy meals are served (yes, there are sauces - but in appropriate quantity to complement the meal). Breakfast is perfect: omelets, scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, French bread, and COFFEE with heavenly croissants, through lunch, and dinner. Their wine selection is just right - with local Bordeaux wines featured - and a bottle/night (OK, a bottle PLUS) - is a lovely way to end the day.
The Maison Pavlov does offer a Spa experience (although we didn’t try this benefit).
Our luggage had been lost (but now is found), and there is not only a Pharmacy nearby (NOTE: always take your meds in your carry-on!), but we also happened upon a Monoprix (which sells all kinds of sundries) to tide us over until our luggage arrived. (Yes - we avoided the local McDonald’s - but others may not have the same restraint.) The “old town” (near the River), is a somewhat far walk, however there is a lovely park (Park Bordelais) not far from the hotel. And for those more adventurous, the silent - electric - “trolley” runs right past the hotel. Also in the area are other small grocery stores, restaurants, and cafes.
From the owner’s warm and personal welcome (THANK you, Mary!), to the help we have received from every member of the staff reminds me of how life *should* be. A memory I will never forget - and a hotel I hope to return to!

Mistrust. Lunch menu supposedly 46€ starter/main course/dessert and billed à la carte for… 50€. A service (especially a young woman) that is a bit “beginner” and not really up to par. A parasol that falls on the table: another service woman who doesn't even apologize and says to you "oh well? I don’t understand how this could have happened.” Everything very very limited.
