Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Large, slightly impersonal hotel located in the new part of Santarem. Correct staff. The rooms are quite large and comfortable. the best thing was the really abundant and varied breakfast, buffet type. Possible to park in front of the hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights because he had a wedding to attend in Santarem. Good spacey rooms and the service from the front desk are very friendly service. Internet is ok in the rooms but the breakfast is nothing special. All and all a good stay and good hotel.

Touring Portugal on motorcycles after leaving Faro earlier in the day we ended up looking for a hotel in this municipal centre. Our intended final destination was the coasal town of Peniche but due to an unfortunate incident at a fuel stop and four hours of Portugese legal form filling we had to change our plans. We headed into Santarem and found this hotel was our only option. Luckily it was well worth finding. The reception and bar areas have been well furnished to give it the air of a city centre boutique hotel. The staff have an air of efficiency but retain the Portugese friendlyness. The rooms were comfortable and well furnished. I'm sure Santarem has cultural highlights but we did not see them. This hotel is situated in a banking / office area and although staff offered directions to a good resturaunt (also owned by the hotel) on the other side of town, we settled for a small bar a few doors away which offered beer and very good sandwiches at low prices. Only staying one night before moving on after a very good breakfast I was pleasently surprised at how low the total bill was.

I can't comment, just advise against it for anyone looking for a stay with hygiene and well-being, however, the location is great. The only positive thing.
The price is exaggerated for a hotel that offers almost nothing, just a room for those who have no alternative to staying without a place to sleep.

I do not understand why there are so many negative reviews about this hotel. The hotel is located at the centre of the town. You can walk to anywhere. There is free car park. The room is big, clean and comfortable. There is cable tv. The bathroom is sufficient. Breakfast is enough. Staff was very friendly and helpful about everything. For budget and quality wise, this is a great match for solo business travellers like me.

This is a great little hotel in a great location. The staff are superb, each and everyone could not be more helpful and cheery, a great service culture. The room is spotless, bathroom with bath for camino walkers, twin beds, basic but comfortable. Great service. Recommended.

This is the second of the two acceptable hotels in the city, really basic but not very expensive at all.
Placed next to regional hospital in an area where there's nothing to do.
Honestly I slept here because the only 4 star hotel in the city was fully booked and this one was placed just next to the hospital were I was working. (2 minutes walk)

This hotel used to be called Alfageme. Changes have been made exclusively on the ground floor which is new, modernised and quite attractive, giving an excellent first impression when you walk in. Otherwise the hotel is unchanged, the rooms are just the same as they used to be, dreary, outdated with tiny beds and awfull pillows, worn out carpets and outdated bathroom amenities as well. In fact very disappoining because with such a nice reception area you would expect much more from the rooms! Breakfast room also newly decorated, sunny and with a reasonably good breakfast presentation. Expresso coffee on demand and or free. Wifi in the hotel includes rooms and is also free. Santarem is not a very interesting city and this hotel is not really in the centre but close enough. Parking is available and free.
