Beachaven holiday park is hubby and my new home from home! Can't recommend enough.
Situated minutes walk from the beach which is stunning summer or winter! Summer its swims and breath taking views without being crammed, winter and it's a georgous walks and spectacular views.
The holiday park has some of the friendliest helpful service we've experienced on our travels and adds to the relaxed welcoming atmosphere. The facilities are immaculate ( i mean seriously immaculate!)and user friendly, with rules around visitors and noise which means a mix of family friendly and peaceful. It's a great mix of families, camper Van's etc.
Booking is super easy and our last trip we rang to let them know we'd be late and on arrival ( it was dark and cold winters evening ) we arrived to our studio, subtle lights on and toasty warm for us. Really appreciated that touch of care.

Within walking distance of the village/town hub which has a variety of cafes, boutique stores( Daisy Chain is my favorite). You can stop off at the beach restaurant/bar which is more big city prices/fare or our wee slice of Kiwiana La Vie En Rose for well priced drinks and simple tasty fare at $10 a plate/platter. Not flash but really cruisey and relaxed atmosphere which makes the trip feel more Kiwiana.

We ended up staying 3 nights, we had initially booked 2 nights then added another. To our utter joy one of the staff popped in to tell us our extra night was free.

We will definitely be back!

This Waihi Beach campground might be less well known but it's a treasure. Situated in a residential area just a hop from the beach and within walking distance to cafes, shops and restaurants. The campground is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The grounds are a flat, spacious and everyone will find a picnic bench. Communal areas are light and clean. There are several BBQs with seating and even a huge outdoor pizza oven that is lit on the weekends. Just bring your own pizza or buy a frozen one from reception. On Saturday morning freshly made crêpes were available to buy! We stayed in the Deluxe Studio, perfect for a couple. This is a newish self contained studio with a living/kitchen area with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, dishwasher drawer, small dining table, sofa, TV, heating and a separate bedroom with a queen bed with ensuite bathroom (only criticism here is that the ensuite really needs an extraction fan!). The unit comes with a spacious deck and comfy outdoor chairs. We loved it! The staff was super friendly and made our stay very special. Thank you, Beachaven Top 10!!!

This park is well set up with concrete one-way streets leading to well maintained grass powered-sites. The fixed facilities are well maintained and a pleasure to use. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
We were in a motor-home, so the room rating is not relevant.

We stayed a week, the motel unit was excellent and equipped with everything needed for 4 people. The staff were very friendly and obliging - they checked everyday to see if we wanted the unit serviced, and were happy to supply new towels and so forth at random times during the day. A very enjoyable stay in a clean, well laid out and tidy park

We’ve stayed at Beachaven for several years now, and it is always tidy, reasonably-priced, and close to the beach. The staff have always been friendly and helpful, and our stays have been enjoyable. Good options for cabins while our children are still small, and plenty of tenting space for in future.

family camp, caters for tent, caravans motorhomes and has accomodation in units. Short walk to beach. Very quite and clean. Our apartment had two bedroom one room had the queen size bed it it and the other room two singles so suitable for couples or couple with children. Kitchen had fridge stove and microwave so you could self cater. I would recommend this park for any one loking for a place to stay close to the park in a peaceful and quite place.

We stayed in the dog friendly motel unit. Clean and tidy, quiet.
Friendly staff. Beds were comfy, take your own pillows unless you like big pillows. Pull out sofa bed is not comfy.
Visitors are $5 per person to come see you ( read terms and conditions) where as down the road ita $5 after 2hours and they had a pool.
Still I enjoyed the small atmosphere, safe for kids. Thanks for accommodating us.

We stayed for 10 days in a tent, just back yesterday. Well located holiday park... Short walk to the beach, cafes and shops. Great facilities which were cleaned regularly to a high standard. The pizza oven was a great addition for dinners a couple of times during the week. Kids loved the playground and kids TV room. A few annoying rowdy guests were shut down quickly at curfew time thankfully as with small kids in a tent, noise keeps everyone awake.
Great place to stay

Stayed here 3 times in the last 12 months - this will probably be the last. The campground itself is quite good with OK facilities but on this stay the toilets were blocked and overflowing and the bins were full and overflowing. The biggest let down was the manager Mike who comes across rude and unaccommodating. On talking to some other guests they had the similar opinion. Better options for camping down the road in Bowentown where you are actually feel welcome.
